At the end of all their dealings, Agent Seeley Booth looked on at the two figures enshrouded in shadow, where they would always be.


In his hand he held that of Buffy Summers, who was rolling her eyes at the affectionate, but clearly possessive gesture. The bright sun made her hair and complexion glow, and to her former lovers she looked nothing short of an angel.


And one of the supposed men in the shadow nodded at them in assent, as if to pass on their mutual blessing. Buffy offered them a small smile, and squeezed Seeley’s hand, “Come on mister, if you’re gonna make a good impression here there should be some lunch somewhere with my name on it!”


Spike and Angel watched on as the new couple walked off into the world, leaving them behind.


“I don’t see why we should just give her up without a fight – and to that bloody CIA wanker.”


Angel’s features were set with something akin to a bittersweet smile, “It’s the FBI Spike. And you know why. She deserves more than us.


She deserves to walk in the sun.”
