He didn't bother getting overly dressed these days when the call came in. He simply pulled pants over his pajama bottoms, put on his trench coat and stumbled out to the street to hail a taxi. When he arrived, he stopped at the front desk to pay the fine, waving at Levitt before heading upstairs.

"Mr. Crowley." Not happy to see him, but then again, he never was.

"Captain Miller. I understand Nikki got into a little scrape again."

"Fish —"

"Got it."

"One of these days, you won't be able to rescue your client."

"I'm all too aware of that."
