A/N: Sorry folks I can’t write smut so you’ll have to use your imagination.

Buffy and House lounged on his bed with two spoons and a pint of coffee ice cream between them.

"So who did you fire today Dr. Apprentice wannabe?" Buffy asked in a good natured tone.

"All the girls except the Bitch and Thirteen. And I am not a wannabe."

"Right and the idea of hiring a bunch of perspective employees, dividing them into teams and putting them through challenges to decide who gets fired is a completely original idea?” Buffy asks sarcastically, “And why most of the girls?" she adds with a slight frown.

"The girls lost the challenge. I kept those two because they're useful. And I didn't say that I was original, just that I wasn't a wannabe. Wannabe implies that he does it better. Clearly I'm superior," replied House smugly

"Your hair is anyways. So was I right about the ice cream?" Buffy asks changing the topic.

"Yup, it is better than pistachio."

"Always trust a slayer to know her ice creams," answered Buffy brightly, as she finished the last of the ice cream. She took the empty container and the two spoons and put them aside. Finding nothing else to busy herself with she took a deep breath and with a guilty look confessed, "I kinda left some important stuff out, when we were at the hospital."

"Really?" House asked sarcastically.

Buffy glared, “You weren’t particularly receptive at the time."

House sighed, "What do you want to tell me?"

"Um well, first off I've died three times.” She looks at him but he says nothing so she continues, “The first time I drowned and Xander CPR-ed me back to life. The third time I was shot in the chest and Willow magicked the bullet out of me and the doctors did doctor-y things to save me. Both times I was dead only for like a minute. The middle time was the only time I went to heaven. I was dead for over a month." She stopped and waited for a response.

"Over a month?" House asked allowing only a small portion of his shock into his voice.

"Yeah, I fell from a tower through a whole bunch of magical energy. I was broken, buried and in heaven for over a month before my friends did a really dangerous spell to resurrect me. Anyways, like I said the other two times, no heaven, so that's probably why there was nothing for you."

"Okay, just so I get this straight, you've been to heaven, hell, been resuscitated and resurrected?" he asked in a neutral tone.

Buffy shrugged and cheerfully said, "My life is weird.”

"I've noticed." responded House blandly.

"You mind?" she asked playfully.

"Nope. You're more interesting then soaps."

"With romantic talk like that it’s a wonder people ask me why I'm with you."

"And what do you tell them?" House asked suddenly curious.

Buffy paused a moment and looked at House then she answered seriously, "Because you never ask anything of me that I can't give,” she paused a moment and looked him directly in the eyes, “Why do you let me stay?" she asked curiously.

House met her gaze and responded honestly, "You don't try to fix me."

Buffy's cell rang. She growled, when she checked the I.D. she rolled her eyes.

"Hey Wilson...Still alive...Well we just had sex and ate ice cream so I think he's in a pretty good mood... Yes we talked about today...Uh no he didn't do anymore explaining...Hey back off... People don't always feel like sharing after a near death or death experience. Some things are better left unsaid... None of your business!" Buffy hit end and threw the phone down on the bed. “Next time you get to talk to Wilson," she grumbled.

"Nun huh, you're funner to listen to."

Buffy relaxed, then giggled and added, "And you're amusement is my top priority."

“That and satisfying me."

"Satisfying you how?" Buffy asked with a mischievous grin as she straddled him.

House smirked, "My curiosity."

Buffy rolled her eyes and settled back beside him."What do ya want to know?"

“Your experience with the afterlife is a touchy subject,” stated House nodding towards the discarded phone then he continued, “You have never mentioned any near death experiences before and yet you willingly broached the subject today at the hospital. Either your feelings towards these events have changed, which your conversation with Wilson refutes or —”

Buffy interrupted him before he could continue, “Stop verbalizing your deductive reasoning or whatever you call it. I won’t lie and I don’t need to know how you have already figured out my motivation. Just ask me.”

House pouted for a moment but gave in and asked, “Why tell me anything?”

"Cos being dragged from heaven was kinda a big deal and I can't pretend it didn't happen," she stated unhappily.

"And?" House asked expectantly.

Buffy answered back in an annoyed patronizing tone, "I don't think it's something you should have to go through or want to go through for that matter."

"Why?" asked House waiting for the answer he already knows.

An agitated Buffy finally sighed and looked him directly in the eyes, "Because I love you." She then looked away and refused to meet his eyes.

House gently pulled her head to look her straight in the eyes and replied without a trace of sarcasm, "I love you too."

Then they did something that they had never bothered to do in this relationship. They kissed.
