This is first person from Rodney McKay’s POV. An answer to my own Fallen Angel challenge. Sometimes someone else needs to get the girl.
Disclaimer: I do not own any of these characters.
Why did Sheppard always get the hot chicks!
She nearly landed on me. Well, that wasn’t strictly true. She had actually landed on Sheppard. The smug bastard had actually managed to make a lame quip anyway.
“Usually women get to know me a little better before they try to jump me.”
Fortunately, she saw right through him before making my week…by slapping him. That stunned him long enough for her to scramble to her feet. My god she was hot. Bright blue eyes framed by soft white skin with light freckles on her checks and nose, soft wavy brown hair down to her—
So she was pissed, and I mean pissed. After a couple minutes of yelling at me, Sheppard, Radek (who shifted the blame to me somehow before leaving. Coward), and anyone else who happened to be in the lab, I figured out that she was from an alternate dimension. Seems that she was in the lab with us, but not us, when the device we were/are studying, activated. Which is so not fair, ours won’t even turn on.
Of course that little revelation cut off her rant real quick. She seemed to process it for a moment before visible deflating, and apologizing. Lots of apologizing. Oh, and she hugged Sheppard to make up for slapping him. And the look he gave me over her shoulder…lets just say he is going to be having some very cold showers this week.
So Sheppard was flirting with her (again) when there was a bright flash and two men appeared staggering and flailing to keep their balance. Well, one staggered and one flailed. Turns out the latter was the alternate me. The other, alternate Sheppard. The hot chick (“Dawn”, Sheppard reminded me later, “her name is Dawn.”) lit up at their appearance. I can’t believe that she forgot them causing this whole thing in the first place.
She then launched herself at him and kissed the living daylights out of him. Me! She was kissing the alternate me. I…my…what?
Sheppard was staring too. He looked how I felt. I guess we were both a little shocked. They were still kissing. Alternate Sheppard just shook his head before poking alternate me in the shoulder. The two pulled apart with a wet smack and I—he had a dopey look on my—his face.
They left quickly after that, alternate me doing something quick to our copy of the device. They best part was that Sheppard still stood rooted to the floor, in open mouthed shock, even after they were gone. I wish I had a camera. I made a quick and witty comment,
“If you stand there any longer, your face is going to freeze like that.”
before sending him off on his way. The fact that he didn’t say anything, just shut his mouth and left, was even better.
It was almost 10 minutes before I remembered the security camera installed in my lab and smiled.
She just made my month.
