Summary: The trials of being a werewolf in the FBI.

Getting one of the monster’s flunkies to crack had been easier after they had found the right one. Once they had an address, they had a warrant and with the warrant they had found a huge shipment of kids of all nationalities and ages.

It was Colby’s job to clear the rest of the building, keeping in radio contact. So it was a complete surprise when, among some out of the way cages, Colby locked eyes with a boy of seven who happened to be a werewolf. The boy’s eyes got really big. Colby was sure that his eyes widened too. Then Colby noticed the wolf was isolated in a cage away from the other two kids in the room. The girls shared a cage and were avidly watching Colby and the boy interact.

“Don!” he spoke into his walkie-talkie, “I’ve got something you’ve got to see. Northeast corner. Bring one of the translators.”

Don jogged over with a translator. The pair stopped and stared at the three kids behind bars. “We need wire cutters and a medic,” he decided.

The translator tried to the urge the kids to talk. He walked to Don’s side. “I don’t know if they don’t know any of the words I’m saying or if they’re too scared. They won’t even look at me.”

Colby glanced at the kids and realized that they were lined up on his side of their cages, their hands reaching for him. As soon as the agent with the wire cutters showed up, Colby grabbed the tool and broke the lock on the girls’ cage.

Don was a bit more wary. “The other kids have been cleared of anything contagious, but that might be the reason that these were separated.”

“Actually,” David appeared in the doorway and joined the group. “According to some of the employees, these kids were for special customers.”

“What kind of special customers?”

Colby didn’t care and was unlocking the werewolf. He got rid of the padlock and stepped away. The boy exploded out of the cage, ran for Colby and then dropped to his knees in front of the adult. He put his hands to the ground and rolled his eyes up to look at Colby. It was such a submissive action that Colby winced.

Don growled, “Tell me that that’s not why he was slated for a special customer.”

Colby reached under the boy’s arms and lifted him to his feet. The boy, pleased that Colby accepted him, refused to stay standing. Instead, he jumped into the agent’s arms and wrapped his thin limbs around Colby’s body. Colby held on to him in shock. The girls had been watching and once the werewolf intros had been completed, they dodged the rest of the agents and slid to Colby’s feet. They each wrapped their arms around a leg and hid their faces in his slacks.

Don was able to find humor in the situation. “It looks like you made some friends.”

This time, Colby growled.
