It was happening again. The rush that seemed to overcome her senses when he was there. Given, she'd only met him 6 times before, but every time the same thing happened. It was like animal instinct. Both of them lonely and longing for things they refuse to voice. And it happens.

Pain, without love
Pain, I can't get enough
Pain, I like it rough
'Cause I'd rather feel pain than nothing at all

They move in a flurry of motion. Hitting, kicking, punching, slapping. Fighting and scrapping like starving dogs over a meal. He pulls his gun and pistol whips Faith, both of them craving the pain and the clarity that comes from the knock-down drag-outs they end up having.

And then it gets interrupted, like it always does. Their fight seemingly a 'come-hither' red light beacon to vamps who want a snack. Then the rage and passion explodes anew and they are fighting for their lives. Laughter bubbling up out of both of them. As the last vamp turns to dust the dark haired slayer leaps at the man, her mouth fusing over his in a desperate bid for something she can't give a name too.

You're sick of feeling numb
You're not the only one
I'll take you by the hand
And I'll show you a world that you can understand
This life is filled with hurt
When happiness doesn't work
Trust me and take my hand
When the lights go out you will understand

Casey is dragging her back to his apartment, their lips rarely disconnecting. They nip and rip at each others clothes, exposing flesh to their senses. They trip and stumble trying to make it up the stairs, drawing notice from their neighbors.

"You guys need any help?" The brunette, Chucks good looking older sister, asks coming out of her home. The two break apart for a moment.

"I think I can handle him," Faith chuckles as Casey flips her up over his shoulder and takes the steps three at a time.

"Nice!" Casey still didn't understand how a moron like Chucks brother-in-law could be a doctor.

Casey cracked his neck and sniffed the air experimentally. Bacon? Eggs? What the hell!?

"Breakfast's ready, your friends came over and I was hungry," Faith told him, her voice raking down his nerves, sending cravings of her body to ever extremity.

"Breakfast? Since when do you cook?" He asked as she came over to the bed. She was wearing a pair of his boxers and one of his T-shirts. She grinned.

"Since I was 7. I just haven't cooked for you," She told him, smiling softly when he grabbed her waist and dragged her on top of him.

"Lets say breakfast waits," He told her, nipping at her neck and running his hands under the shirt.

"Uh, John? Cold bacon is no ones friend," Chuck called from the other room. Casey froze.

"Friends? I don't have friends," John growled. Faith giggled and stood up.

"Come on big guy, time to get up," She told him, tossing a pair of sweatpants at him and leaving the room.

"So, how long have you two known each other?" Chuck asked Faith as she sat down beside Sarah.

"Few years," Faith shrugged.

"I'm sorry, what was your name again?" Sarah asked, swallowing a bite of eggs. Faith chuckled.

"Faith," She told the blonde woman, refusing to give a last name.

"Faith is an Interpol Liaison with clearance higher than 90 percent of the NSA, she knows I'm an agent," Casey said, coming into the room.

"In fact, I know you're an agent too. CIA not NSA. What I don't know is little Charlie here, but that's cool, I'm in town for different business," Faith shrugged.

"What kind of business?" Sarah asked. Faith raised her eyebrows again.

"Not your kind," She told her.

"Dangerous?" Casey asked. Chuck stared at his sometimes 'partner'. Did Casey care? Was he worried about the beautiful brunette?

"Probably, should I stop by again before I leave?" Faith asked suggestively.

"Feel free," Casey agreed.

And she did stop by again. That night, craving bruises in all the right places after stopping an apocolypse. She liked that about Casey, he knew she was strong, knew she liked it rough, and he liked it just as rough as she did. Every now and then she'd start wondering about what it would be like if they weren't so immured in secrets, but she forced the thoughts out of her head. They were both violent, both sexual, and both brutal in very like ways. What they had was good. Once, sometimes twice a year. It was all they needed.

She rolled out of bed and pulled on her leather pants and black corset. She moved her boots to the living room to put on so she wouldn't wake him and didn't bother searching for her panties. He'd laugh when he found them. He needed laughter in his life. Faith left the house quietly, her coat in her arms and paused to light a cigarette.

It hurt to leave him, always did. Probably always would. He understood her in ways that most didn't. He'd been balm to her soul when Robin had left her. Healing wounds he hadn't known were there just by treating her like herself. It was why she hadn't had a real relationship since. No one seemed to measure up to Special Agent John Casey. The one that encouraged her to be who she was.

Yeah it hurt to leave, but the pain was good. Kept her from being maudlin. Reminded her of her duty and what her life entailed. Reminded her what she owed the world. At least if she was hurting, she'd know she was alive.

-

I know (I know I know I know I know)
That you're wounded
You know (You know you know you know you know)
That I'm here to save you
You know (You know you know you know you know)
I'm always here for you
I know (I know I know I know I know)
That you'll thank me later

Pain, without love
Pain, can't get enough
Pain, I like it rough
'Cause I'd rather feel pain than nothing at all
Pain, without love
Pain, I can't get enough
Pain, I like it rough
'Cause I'd rather feel pain than nothing at all
Pain, without love
Pain, I can't get enough
Pain, I like it rough
'Cause I'd rather feel pain than nothing at all
Rather feel pain than nothing at all
Rather feel pain
