I'm Yours

Artist: Jason Mraz
Song: I'm Yours

Disclaimer: Still don't own anything interesting ...

Cordelia glared, her arms crossed tightly under her breasts as she stared up at the eight foot something monolith in front of her. She so was not in the mood for this. She had been minding her own business, checking out a sale at the mall, and this bozo comes out of nowhere to steal women for his home universe. Well, maybe not out of nowhere. She'd been in the dressing room trying on a new dress when the vision had come, thankfully Dinah and Zatanna had changed into their own alter egos, waiting only for Cordy to tell them where. Then Cordelia had transformed into Vision, leaving her in white leather and fishnets, her long dark hair cascading down her back in soft ripples. That led her to where she was now, glaring at him because he'd already taken out Black Canary and Zatanna, both of them had their hands and feet bound and their mouths unable to open. She wasn't sure by what, but the large maroon wearing man with the big shiny helmet seemed to find all three of them amusing.

"Do you wish to fight me as well little one?" He demanded with a deep rumbling to his voice. She had the feeling that he was laughing at her. She didn't like that.

Well you done done me and you bet I felt it
I tried to be chill but you're so hot that I melted
I fell right through the cracks
and now I'm trying to get back

Cordelia definitely didn't wish to fight him. She wished to stall him until the backup she'd asked for got there. Of course ... that didn't leave her many options. Of course, gradually glowing brighter due to aggravation wasn't something she normally allowed herself but she figured that would distract him for a few moments at least. After all, how many glowing chicks does one person meet in his life.

"I don't wish to fight anyone," She told him. That being said she concentrated until the glow around her separated from her skin to become a battle ax. Another trick that could sometimes distract people. She hefted it in her hands as the light became a little heavier. The exact weight of her favorite ax from the other dimension. She smiled a little, her eyes flashing behind the white mask as on lookers made sounds of amazement. It wasn't a trick she used often. As she often said, she wasn't all that much of a fighter, but she'd do what she had to to keep the citizens safe.

Before the cool done run out
I'll be giving it my bestest
Nothing's going to stop me but divine intervention
I reckon it's again my turn to win some or learn some

The Flash, Green Arrow, Batman and J'onn zipped into mall only to see Cordy facing off with a huge humanoid, a weapon made of light that flashed brighter every time she struck the large man with it was firmly in her hands. She growled as she was knocked down, again, swatted out of the air like a fly as she jumped at him. He was freaking huge. She noticed when Batman and Flash were suddenly beside Zatanna and Black Canary, trying to pick the locks that bound their hands and feet. The tape like substance over their mouths the women would get off on their own. The brunette got back to her feet, feeling the twinge in her ribs that let her know she was hurt, even if she didn't want to admit it just yet. Her adrenaline should keep her fine for a while yet.

A savage smile lit the womans face as a green arrow struck the maroon guy through the shoulder. The guy looked down at the stick with a hint of confusion before anger took it's place. She took a deep breath, realizing for the first time that the guy had been playing with her. She took a running leap, driving the ax handle deep into the mans solar plexus, hoping it would jar him at least as much as it did humans. She spotted J'onn coming up behind the monolith as the creatures hands took her around the waist, lifting her and squeezing as though she were nothing more than an empty can of soda.

I won't hesitate no more, no more
It cannot wait, I'm yours

Zatanna was free and working at the binding on her mouth, fury in her eyes. Flash turned and felt his heart skip as Cordelia was held aloft in the huge man's hands. She was gasping and her pounding hands faltered as the mans grip tightened, he wasn't even paying attention to J'onn and Green Arrow. He zipped forward, tugging on the guys leg as Batman dove in from above, dropping an explosive device down the mans shirt. Black Canary wasn't much farther behind, delivering a flying kick to the side of the same knee Wally had gone after, dropping the big guy to one knee.

"Put me down ... you tacky ... son ... of a-," Cordelia growled, trying to breath through the constriction around her ribs. Her breathing was too shallow and her eyes fluttered.

"Vision!" Wally shouted as she collapsed. The big red man held her aloft with a single hand as he used the other to knock Batman away. The dark knight popped right back up as the man tried to focus on someone else, deciding on Green Arrow as another arrow pierced him. He had many and while none were fatal it was getting old. He lifted the unconscious brunette and threw her directly at the blond man. Unfortunately the big mans aim was off and Vision was thrown at Green Arrow's head.

"dnes mih ot sih emoh reven ot nruter," Zatanna's voice boomed, echoing through the building.

Well open up your mind and see like me
Open up your plans and damn you're free
Look into your heart and you'll find love love love love

"Vision!" Wally was suddenly beside the fallen hero. He checked her pulse and then put an ear to her mouth. "She's not breathing!" He shouted, suddenly far more afraid. Green Arrow was suddenly by his side, taking the woman from him and laying her flat. Wally cursed his powers. Too often he breathed to fast and pumped to hard, not knowing how much a regular body could take. It was a problem a lot of heroes had, especially those with super abilities, like Wonder Woman or Superman or even Aquaman. He cursed his inability even as Batman took over compressions and Cordy suddenly coughed, her eyes fluttering as she hacked. Wally had her in his arms as the others raced to join him at the javelin. He didn't care who stayed to give a statement to the local police, he wanted Cordelia taken care of first.

The ride to the watchtower seemed unnaturally long as Cordelia didn't wake up, though she was now breathing on her own. As soon as the airlocks were cleared Flash was off, vision tucked against his chest as he headed for the medical bay. He growled in frustration at the doors that didn't open fast enough for him and finally lay her down on the bed, shouting for a doctor to come check on her, to save her.

He didn't notice the oddly sympathetic looks he was getting from his fellow heroes. Wally West and Cordelia Chase seemed to be the only two people that didn't realize they were made for each other. He stepped away from the bed as med techs swarmed the woman in white.

Listen to the music of the moment people dance and sing
We're just one big family
And It's our God-forsaken right to be loved love loved love loved

Green Arrow looped an arm over Black Canary's shoulder, pulling her a little closer as they looked through the window to the room that Vision was occupying. She was lying, unmoving, on the bed. The same place she'd been for the last week. The doctors weren't sure when she would wake up, saying all she had was a mild concussion and that she should have already woken. J'onn had tried to pull her back, but he'd gone into convulsions and mumbled things that later he would refuse to talk about. Wally had been sent earth-side two days before and calling for updates every hour or so. There had been an emergency in his city and he had been needed.

"I hope the kid wakes up," Green Arrow said with a soft sigh. Canary's hand slipped around his green clad waist and she rested her head against him.

"For Wally's sake she has to. You men are worthless without us," She smiled up at him and he pressed his forehead against her, not willing to admit that he would be worthless without her. She knew it already. She could move on if something happened to him ... he wasn't sure that he would be able to move on if something happened to her. She was stronger than he was.

So I won't hesitate no more, no more
It cannot wait I'm sure
There's no need to complicate
Our time is short
This is our fate, I'm yours

Wally was bone tired. He'd never before realized all that the sentiment could entail before. He wished he still couldn't. Every bone and muscle and nerve ached with tension, his entire body trembled from the exhaustion. He hadn't slept for longer than 20 minutes at a time since the incident with Cordelia, and for the last two days he hadn't slept at all, forcing himself to beat out the extra-dimensional beings that were trying to cross into his city. Now they were done and he was going back to the watchtower. He stopped the javelin and exited, heading to the med bay at a slow pace, not able to go any faster. His uniform was ripped and burned, showing equally damaged skin beneath. His lip and cheek were bruised and swollen and his mask was ripped enough to show the black eye and his very red hair.

"Flash?" "Dude, you don't looks so hot," "What happened?" "Are you alright?" He ignored the questions that were surrounding him as he continued walking. If he stopped he wasn't sure he would start again and he needed to see Cordelia. He barely noticed Black Canary and Green Arrow as the watched the young woman in the room he was heading to. His palm slapped over the door entry and he stumbled into the room, grateful for the hands that caught him and helped him into the chair beside the bed.

"Ok Kid, this has to stop. You need a shower and sleep," Green Arrow said with a sigh, putting fisted hands on his hips and staring down at his friend.

"Later," Wally agreed. Black Canary entered a moment later, a folded cot in her arms. She raised an eyebrow and handed off her package to her boyfriend before leaving to return after a few moments with a pillow and blanket. Green Arrow smiled and set up the cot while Black Canary pulled off Wally's mask and shook her head. She snagged a first aid kit from the wall and quietly went about cleaning up his face and then the rest of the minor injuries that she could see.

"Onto the cot," She informed him as she finished pulling his arm and the shoving him back, watching as he tipped sideways and Green Arrow helped him settle himself. The guy was too tired to argue. He could see Cordelia he was fine. He was asleep before she could even put the blanket over him.

Scooch closer dear
and i will nibble your ear

Cordelia cried. Silent tears ran down her face as she said goodbye to all of her friends. Her body had been in a coma and the powers were tired of keeping it alive. It was time for her, and her friends, to all move on. Not very surprisingly Angel had been the hardest, but it didn't hurt her so much as it hurt him. She still had a life to live, a life that he couldn't know about. So now she was sitting in Limbo, waiting for everything to be put back together so she could get on with her life, worrying about the fight she had been pulled out of ... well they'd pulled her after she'd been thrown across a mall ... but still. It was timeless here, but she knew it wasn't timeless in the other dimensions, people got older and lives and fashions changed.

"You're doing good kid," A voice informed her. She turned and saw a strange short man dressed straight out of the fifties. A fifties hobo anyway.

"Have we met?" She demanded. He shook his head.

"No, but I still know you. I've helped out a couple of your friends. Blondie and Broody," He smiled a little as she raised her eyebrow.

"You must be Whistler," She cocked her head as he smiled more widely, though his eyes seem a little sad.

"That was your last time going back. There are no more trips, there will be no more news. They just wanted you to know that. You're the champion of a new realm and your place there is solid. You're needed by more than just the citizens. You were put her for a reason and you are doing a wonderful job. Darkness is coming, but you are going to help bring the light. Don't be afraid to follow your heart," He smiled once more and with a flash of light he was gone.

I've been spending way too long checking my tongue in the mirror
And bending over backwards just to try to see it clearer
My breath fogged up the glass
And so I drew a new face and laughed

The Black Canary sat in the uncomfortable chair in her friends room, watching over Cordelia and keeping an eye on Wally as well. Green Arrow had been called, but she wasn't on duty. Nor was she needed to be. Dinah sighed and crossed her arms on Vision's bed, resting her chin on them.

"Here's the thing girl, you're sassy, your beautiful and your tough. It's a triple threat that I'm sure you've been using for years. You're too strong to just give in to whatever. We need you here," She started softly, staring at her friends face. "We need you to keep Wally in line if nothing else. If you could see him your heart would break. He's not in good shape at all hon," She stopped with a soft sigh, rubbing a hand through her hair.

A quick glance back at the only guy in the room showed her that he was still deep in an exhausted sleep. He hadn't moved for over an hour and she doubted that he would wake up any time soon. She felt tears prick her eyes and took a deep breath, forcing them back. She clenched her fists and glared down at Cordy for a moment.

"Time to wake up you glowing bitch. You don't get to be California princess right now, we need you. Wake up," She said quietly, her voice still forceful. She reached out a hand and gently pushed Cordy's hair off her forehead and behind her ear. "Seriously Cordy, this is all a little melodramatic,"

"What can I say? I like the attention," Cordy groaned, her eyes still closed.

I guess what i be saying is there ain't no better reason
To rid yourself of vanity and just go with the seasons
It's what we aim to do
Our name is our virtue

Cordelia opened her eyes slowly as Dinah grabbed a glass of water. Cordy sipped, her eyes wide as she spotted Wally.

"Is he alright?" She asked, a slight frightened tone in her voice.

"He's fine," Dinah soothed, turning the brunettes gaze to her. Cordy's eyes roamed over her face, frowning at the yellowing bruise on her chin.

"I feel like a got run over by a mack truck and you've barely got a bruise," She accused. Dinah laughed softly, glancing back at Wally to make sure he was asleep.

"It's been a week and that thing didn't try to crush me like a soda can," Dinah informed her. Cordy closed her eyes with a groan.

"A week?" She asked tiredly. The blond nodded her head when Cordelia opened her eyes again.

"A week. You've been in a coma and no one could reach you. Not even J'onn," She told her friend, trying to clamp down on the fear that flared up again. She had been so afraid that she wouldn't get her friend back.

"What happened to Wally?" The brunette demanded as she again spotted the torn figure behind her friend. Brown eyes looked up and locked with blue, tears starting to fill both of them.

"He hasn't been sleeping, and he had to save his city, he's fine though. He'll be fine," She amended at the brunette's glare. Cordelia didn't like lies. Not even simple little white lies. "He'll be fine once he knows that you will be fine."

I won't hesitate no more, no more
It cannot wait I'm sure
There's no need to complicate
Our time is short
this is our fate, I'm yours

"Wally," Cordelia called as Black Canary left to inform people that she was awake. He didn't stir. "Wally!" She shouted. Wally blinked his eyes for a moment, spotted her sadly smiling face and was beside her bed in a blink. She looked up at him, a hand tracing the outside of his black eye with a wince.

"You're awake," He said, his voice surprised. She looked into his eyes and nodded, scooting over and patting the open area of her bed. He raised an eyebrow.

"I'm cold, that cot looks uncomfortable, you look exhausted and this bed is big enough for us both," She told him with a shrug. He glanced behind him at the open window and then at his cot.

"You've been out for a week. You stopped breathing ..." He continued to look away, but Cordelia's hand snaked out and caught his chin, gently turning his head toward her and she could see the fear in his eyes. She felt her own chin tremble. Telling Angel goodbye had been nothing.

"I'm scared," She whispered, "Please don't leave me alone," Wally's breath caught and he sighed softly.

"I'm gonna get a shower," He told her. She nodded and fell back against her bed, curling up and pulling the blanket over her shoulders.

When Flash came out of the bathroom, clean, though scraped and bruised, and wearing only a pair of sweat pants the doctors were just leaving and Cordelia was asleep again. He grinned softly and walked over to the bed. She was still huddled against the far side of the bed. He climbed in beside her and pulled her close to him. She tucked her head under his chin and he pulled her close, his eyes closing and his breath going even.

Well no no, well open up your mind and see like me
Open up your plans and damn you're free
Look into your heart and you'll find the sky is yours

Batman stalked through the halls on his way to the med bay. She was awake. He had to see for himself, not that he would admit to being worried. Maybe not even to himself. He paused as a spotted the crowding at the observation windows. He walked to the crowd, standing for a moment behind Zatanna.

"What's going on?" He asked in his deep voice. Zatanna jumped and turned with a glare.

"You know, sometimes I think you get a kick out of being sneaky and scaring people," She told him with a glare. He smirked and looked over people's heads to the window. Wally. And Cordelia. Cuddling.

"What is going on?" He repeated flatly. She smirked herself, cocking a hip and planting a fist on it.

"People weren't sure they believed and now there are dues to pay or collect as the case may be," She told him. He nodded. He'd heard about the betting on love lives, but he preferred to stay out of it. His money would have been on the two getting together soon though, they were both passionate and tended to act before thinking. However, to place a bet would be to condone the gambling ... which included bets on his own love life, something he preferred to not share.

"You look pleased," He noted, seeing Zatanna bounce on her toes. She smiled widely at him.

"That's because I'm one of the winners," She informed him. That was normal, it was also a reason she no longer gambled at casino's. She felt that it wasn't fair. She might not be able to see the answer, but her feelings were accurate most of the time.

"So she woke up?" He demanded. Zatanna glared at him for a moment before nodding.

"Yes, Black Canary talked to her," The brunette gestured toward the blond woman beside Green Arrow. The two were blocking the entrance to the room in a not-so-subtle manner.

Listen to the music of the moment come and dance with me
A lá one big family A lá happy family A lá peaceful melody
It's your God-forsaken right to be loved love love love

It wasn't hard for Batman to clear the corridor of all but himself, Zatanna, Black Canary, and Green Arrow. The last two refusing to move away from the door.

"You talked to her?" Batman asked Canary. She nodded once and Green Arrow focused on Batman.

"She didn't really say much," Dinah told him with a shrug. He continued to watch her for a moment.

"What did she say?" He asked.

"She was hurting, then she was worried about Wally, that's it," Dinah told him. He nodded once and took position across the hall from the others. They would wait for their allies to wake up.

I won't hesitate no more, no more
It cannot wait, I'm sure
There's no need to complicate
Our time is short
This is our fate, I'm yours

Cordelia snuggled against the firm flesh her cheek was lying on top of, slowly opening her eyes. Fingers playing with her long unkempt curls. She tilted her chin up and looked up at the red head she was lying half on top of, his eyes closed. She could feel his heart thudding evenly and she just lay like that staring up at him, drifting in feelings of contentment.

"Is that zoo still mobbing outside our room?" His lips barely moved as he whispered to her. The brown eyes moved automatically to the window.

"Not so much a zoo as a circus. Batman and Zatanna," She told him. She let her senses drift a little and discovered two more people. She had a feeling Dinah was one of them, but she didn't mind. She reached out one arm to cover his abdomen, tucking her hand under his back and pulling them closer together.

"I have a headache," Wally told her a moment later.

"Me too," She agreed.

"Maybe we should tell them to come in,"

"I'd rather tell them to go to hell and start popping medication," Cordelia grumbled, burying her face into his chest. His chest rumbled as he laughed, the hand playing in her hair moving to hug her closer. She looked up at him with a slight grin and a sparkle in her eyes.

"What?" He asked.

"You do realize that now you're mine right? I don't play well with others, it's that sharing concept. I could never figure it out," She told him. He stopped laughing to stare at her for a moment. He scooted down so they were face to face and leaned his forehead against hers.

"I don't mind," He told her, completely serious. He kissed her gently on the lips before leaning back and closing his eyes. "Now it's time for another nap,"

No please, don't complicate
Our time is short
This is our fate, I'm yours

Vision cocked an amused eyebrow at the thug in front of her. He seemed to think he was hot shit.

"Seriously babe, I can make you come ... to the dark side," He laughed loudly, appreciating his own joke as Vision frowned in disgust.

"...Ew," She couldn't come up with another response. She who was known for her barbed comebacks.

"You really should be careful who's girlfriend you offend," Came a dry voice as the guy was knocked ass over forehead. Flash suddenly appeared beside Vision, his arm wrapped around her waist.

"Tell me again why I signed on for this?" She demanded as the figure in red tossed the giant super charged freezing ray to another hero and cops walked over to arrest the young man.

"Savior complex," Flash told her, nodding wisely. She sighed and rubbed her temples as she started to glow.

"Damnit, I just got off sick leave," She growled as the vision hit her. He smiled widely as she stalked away to grab a comm link so she could talk to J'onn, who was manning the stations emergency line. Wally smiled and leaned back against a cop car, watching as the woman in white shouted obscenities about egotists and bigots.

"She's feisty," The Chief of Police told him with a smile.

"I know," Wally agreed proudly, suddenly gone from beside the car and then standing beside Vision, wrapping an arm around her waist as she cut off communications. She wrapped her own arm around his waist and the sauntered to the javelin, neither of them in a hurry.

No please, don't hesitate
no more, no more
It cannot wait
The sky is your's!
