“True love only comes once a lifetime.”
At first it was the magic. Willow would only teach her so much and only Earth style.
Then it was the really old demon thing. Angel and Spike, even Clem and Lorne were great for the past several hundred years, but they had only been to a handful of dimensions.
For a born researcher slash witch-in-training, it was heaven. For a Summers, it was inevitable.
The night fifty Klaxor demons ambushed the mini-Slayers retreat and all of them walked away because of Aahz’s goo spell, it became something a whole lot more.
And it was that lot more Dawn had so far successfully kept from the rest of the household.
“Willow, have you seen Xander?” Buffy popped her head in the library.
The redhead shook a negative. “No, but I think he is in the closet with Aahz.”
“That didn’t sound right. I didn't mean that kind of closet. I mean maybe he is...in that kind of closet, but I don’t think Xander is. Not that…”
“Willow, it's ok. Talk trips are no big. Xander?”
“I think I heard them talking about the closet in the basement. Andrew read the fifth book again…”
“So that’s why he has been balling his eyes out.” Buffy rolled her eyes.
“Yeah. And muttering vague threats about straitjackets and abandoned islands. Why doesn’t he just write a fanfic?”
“Don’t encourage him. Is this about that Retirement Room?”
“Requirement. Yes. Xander thought that maybe he and Aahz might be able to make something similar, but I think that is a little fantasy even for us.”
A minute later the door to the basement closet swung open cheerfully. “Xander?”
The two figures inside who had been rather glued to one another pulled apart abruptly. In their ardor, both had dropped the guises. Now, they hastily replaced them, but seconds too late.
“Dawn!” was Buffy’s strangled shriek.
The being who appeared to be Aahz glanced at the being who appeared to be Xander and shrugged. “Gonna find out sometime.”
A shimmer, and Dawn and Aahz stood where Aahz and Xander had.
“You! You!” Shock reduced Buffy to cave language once again. She glared at Aahz. “You pervert!”
“That’s Pervect.” Aahz frowned.
“Nah,” Dawn laid her hand on his shoulder and gazed up. “He’s perfect!”
PS - Dawn is in college at this point. I don't write jailbait.
Thanks for the reviews! More please?
And while you are reviewing, one question: Should I keep this as sci-fi or move it it fantasy crossovers? I wasn't sure.
