Chapter One: The Slayer.
N/A: I do not own anything that has to do with Buffy the Vampire Slayer or Supernatural; I also do not own the idea of Bloody Mary.
N/A: This is my latest story, the first in my new series The Hardest Thing in This World.
Dawn was standing tied up. Her stomach was bleeding and the blood was dropping. It hurt like hell. Her blood created a big mystical- looking cloud. The cloud was a portal. Demons were coming from god knows where and there was nothing Buffy, Willow, Xander, Spike or Dawn could do about it. But, wait there was! If Dawn jumped into the cloud the portal would close and everyone would be safe, but there was a draw back, she would die and Buffy wouldn’t let her.
Buffy had untied her. Dawn refused to let the world go to hell on her account. Buffy thought for a moment then looked out at the sky, the sun was just starting to rise. Dawn knew what her plan was, “No!” Dawn held her sister by her wrists.
“Dawnie, I have to,” Buffy told her to tell the others she finally understood her gift and she was okay. “Dawn, the hardest thing in this world… is to live in it, be brave… live,”
After saying that Buffy ran to the edge of the tower and jumped into the mystic cloud- portal.
Dawn cried as her sister’s life was taken away right before her eyes. She walked down the tower stairs holding her belly from where she had been cut. She saw the other’s crying at the sight of her body, especially Spike. Giles was the only one who was sane enough to carry her to the house.
The next few weeks were spent mourning over the loss of the slayer and starting over without her. Xander carved a tombstone and Giles bought a coffin. They buried her in a quiet spot near the forest. No one cried at the ceremony but Dawn, she felt so responsible! Buffy wouldn’t let Dawn die so she killed herself instead. She kept her feelings to herself but everyone could tell that something was wrong.
At school she would spend most of her time crying in the bathroom. Giles noticed that her grades were getting worse and told her that she had to pick them up; everyone had to believe that Buffy was still alive and if the social worker came then there would be a disaster.
The BuffyBot “took over” as the slayer and the group assisted it most of the time. The BuffyBot was in place to make demons believe she was real. It was a good substitute, most of the time, and the others almost treated it like it was the real Buffy but whenever it said Dawn was it’s sister Dawn reminded herself that it’s just a robot, nothing more.
