Word Count: 384
Pairing: Buffy Summers/Daniel Jackson
Spoilers: BtVS post season 7, Stargate SG-1 general
Summary: Buffy and Daniel have learned to be thankful for the time they have together, even if its only the occasional night in a hotel room in between saving the world.
A/N: This is my first attempt at this pairing and at the Stargate verse in general. Hopefully I’ve seen enough episodes not to get this completely wrong. This is written solely for Ava and her new community at LJ as my form of support.
She hung up the phone studying the floor intently and it didn’t take Slayer senses to feel him move behind her. Not only could she hear him but there was a mirror right in front of her.
“You have to go don’t you?” he asked softly his arms slipping around her waist.
She turned to him her lips slipping into a sad smile “Yeah, well you know, the world is ending and once again I’m the guest of honor, go me.” Her hands grasped his biceps and she tossed her head back as she looked up at him trying to force a smile.
He shook his head pressing a quick kiss to her forehead as he held her close and he told her with conviction “You’re amazing.”
She snorted leaning into him “You’re sweet.” She stepped up on her tip toes and caught his mouth in a kiss. He held her tighter his lips moving over hers and she whimpered as her body flushed against his.
The loud shrill of a phone broke the moment and they both stilled pulling apart.
“It’s yours.” Buffy told him.
“Right.” he muttered and reached over to the side of the bed pulling a cellphone from out of the pockets of his pants where they had been discarded last night. “Dr. Jackson,” he frowned dragging a hand through his shirt hair “fine, I’ll be there in an hour.”
He flipped it closed and tossed it on the bed turning to Buffy an apology in his eyes.
They had done this before, different hotel rooms, different cities, but it was always the same routine. The world didn't wait for lovers, it didn't stop for love. When something threatened the natural order of things it's heroes had to step forward.
It just sucked when those heroes were trying to have a relationship.
She approached him quickly pressing her finger to his lips to stop him “You’re amazing.” Her hand cupped his cheek and she took a moment to drink in the sight of him before declaring firmly “Now I’m going to go save the world and you’re going to go play space boy oh boyfriend of mine.”
They moved to get dressed and Daniel sighed “Do you think actually spending quality time together will ever fit into that plan.”
