“Are you going to open that?”
“I’m a little nervous.” She stared at the leather purse in her hand apprehensively. “What if I’m a horrible person or a mass murderer?”
While the Doctor couldn’t rule it out completely after her little display earlier, he really couldn’t see this woman being responsible for world destruction.
“And you expect to find that out from a name?”
“Names have power.”
“True.” His eyes clouded over briefly with sorrow, suddenly he perked up gesturing to the item in her hand. “Still unless you’re a card carrying member of mass murderers anonymous, I doubt that the revelations contained in there will be that earth shattering.”
She stared at him in disbelief. “I can’t believe you just said that.”
“Eh?” He watched in confusion as she began to get really worked up.
“You’ve so totally jinxed us. There’s no possible way this can end well. It’s probably booby trapped or something and then there’ll be pain and screaming.” While it was amusing to watch it really wasn’t constructive. Not knowing what else to do he stepped up to her and grabbed her shoulders.
“I’m sorry, I’d love to take it back but I can’t. It’s time to find out who you are.”
“Do I have to?”
“Yes. Do you want me to? It’s only fair that I take the risk of the booby trap after all.” She blushed before jokingly pushing him away.
“OK.” He watched as her usually expressive face shut down as she focused solely on the wallet and it’s contents.
“Well?” He caught a glare from her. Maybe the black eyed version was right, patience was definitely not a strong point.
“Hi, my name is Willow.”
