Headquarters of the International Council of Slayers and Watchers, Cleveland, Ohio:

Xander shut off the television when the video ended. Dawn closed her mouth. Faith stood, stretched, and was the first to speak. “Wow. Guess Miss Mousy finally got a pair.”

The star of the video walked into the room. “Hey, what are you guys up to,” she asked. Dawn and Xander leapt to their feet.

“Grrph,” choked Xander.

“Hi, um, Vi,” Dawn squeaked.

“What’re you guys watching,” asked the Slayer in question.

“Nothing,” Dawn said and ran out of the room.

Faith nodded. “T’s’up, Hollywood?”

“Oh, no,” Vi said in a small voice as her eyes darted to an open DVD case on top of the entertainment center.

Faith looked from the mortified slayer to the one-eyed carpenter, who had yet to speak an intelligible word. “Huh, who’d a thunk it,” Faith said. She shook her head in amusement at the pair turning beet-red, then slipped by the two and out the doorway.

Vi stood nervously, looking anywhere except at Xander. “I’m sure you think it’s stupid,” she said. “And so not me. I knew that role wasn’t right for me. I could never pull of something that was supposed to be sexy.”

Xander cleared his throat—twice—before finding his voice. “No, it’s just, it’s that you’re not...” Vi’s face fell. “No, no,” Xander tried again. “It was good. I mean, kind of disturbing with you being mistress of pain, but you pulled it off.”

“Really?” Vi beamed.

“You didn’t think I looked silly?” Vi took a small step forward.

“No. You, um, actually looked really hot.” Xander stepped forward as well, and in another moment the two were kissing.

Vi’s Slayer sense tingled, alerting her to the fact that someone was watching. She opened one eye to see Faith standing beyond the doorway, giving a silent thumbs-up. The red-haired Slayer let go of Xander with one arm and made a shooing gesture.

Faith grinned and quietly headed off to the kitchen to see if there was any cold pizza left to slay.
