Time-line: After Season 7 of Buffy. Dawn is 16.
Dawn was sleeping from a hard day of work-out with her sister. When suddenly she was violently pulled out of her sleep with a burning throat for lack of air. She heard the voice of a woman.
“What did you do to her?”
Dawn could hear the accusative tone in the woman's voice. She opened her eyes and saw a woman in her late thirties, who looked angry at a boy, a cute boy.
“What is going on and who are you guys?” Dawn asked for she had noticed she wasn't in the apartment she shared with her sister.
Thousand of miles away in the city of Rome another girl was startled by the sudden change of environment and absence of light. She found herself in a bed in a dark room. She screamed. A moment later the door burst open and a figure with an axe stood in the doorway. The girl screamed harder. The figure moved her hand to the wall next to the door and turned on the light switch. The figure turned to be a petite, blonde woman with a worried expression on her face. She looked around the room to search for any threat.
“Dawn, why did you scream?”
The girl was in a shocked state of mind. The woman approached the girl and lowered her axe. She sat down on the edge of the bed. The girl folded her legs up in reflex and hugged them.
“Did you eat one of your weird concoctions, before you went to bed? What was it this time; peanut butter on bananas?” The woman rolled her eyes in amusement.
“I'm allergic to peanut butter,” the girl responded automatic.
“No, you aren't,” the woman replied and looked confused.
The girl's eyes went wide in fear and the woman was looking in her eyes. From one moment to another her frown turned into a glare and she had the girl pinned against the headboard.
“Who are you? What did you do to my sister?”
The eyes of the woman were ice-cold and the girl couldn't move or speak out of fear and the fear was easy to read in her eyes and face. The woman was easing her grip on the girl a little.
“Who are you?” The woman asked in a calmly manner.
“Me..Melinda,” the girl answered.
“Do you know, how you got here, Melinda?”
Melinda shook her head. The woman sighed deeply and let her go. She stood up from the bed and turned toward the door. She heard the woman mumble.
“It is still Tuesday.”
