Plans, Mayors, And The Suit

AN: I'm back! I've been working on this chapter for the longest. So enjoy it and don't forget to review. For more info on my vacation check my Archive of One Shots. I will be changing the time for the Titan's episode Spellbound, in case you don't know that is the episode in which Raven had her heart tore up by Malchior.

-----------------------------

"How interesting...an Ascension." Xander muttered, stroking his short, neatly trimmed goatee thoughtfully. "It seems our dear Mayor has more than politics in his ambitions. It's impressive, really."

"How would turning into a demon be impressive?" Willow asked, her face scrunched up in confusion. The others also muttered their lack of understanding. Xander looked at them with a raised eyebrow.

"Well, first he would have to be extremely patient as this ritual and the set ups for it takes at least a century. Second, he would have to be extremely powerful just to meet the initial requirements, let alone the ones later on. Third, he would have to be extremely cunning and more terrifying than anything you have ever faced. Fourth, he would have to be a superb politician to have met the number of Presidents that he has." Xander explained.

"Why would he have to be more cunning and vicious than anyone we've ever faced?" Questioned Buffy as she tried to figure it out.

"Because not only does he have the ability to hide his movements and plans from Wolfram and Hart, but he also frightens the other villains to such an extent that they would never disobey him or rat him out to Wolfram and Hart, who would surely make the information worth their wild. In additions to running the town. Like I said: impressive." Xander informed them, watching as the group paled in realization.

"I believe you are correct Xander. Alas, I uncovered evidence that the Mayor may very well be invulnerable...at least until his Ascension is complete." Giles revealed to everyone, looking down as he wiped his glasses.

"More good news." Buffy muttered, a look of depression settling over her features. Willow nodded on agreement, Giles looked like Buffy, and Faith looked like she was planning something, but then she always looked like that when Xander was around.

"Actually it is." Xander spoke up. Everyone looked at him like he was crazy. Something one quickly got used to in his profession. He turned to everyone. "The Mayor is effectively immortal until his Ascension, right?"

"Yes." Giles confirmed slowly, trying to see where he was going with this. He watched with curiosity as Xander smirked.

"Then I have him." Xander grinned, running his fingers through his shaggy, yet still spiky white hair. "See, we can't kill him now or even hurt him. We can't capture him either as he is both too well protected and too powerful to take on, but when he turns into an Old One, while still immortal, he is not invulnerable. While I will still be both."

"Will you have enough ammunition to take down something of that size?" Giles asked, concern in his voice. Faith also looked skeptical.

"Giles, I have enough weapons to impress Lex Luthor, you don't need to worry about that." Seeing everyone's faces looking doubtful, Xander decided to show them. "Meet me at Warehouse 69 in half an hour."

"69, huh? You trying to imply something X?" Faith smiled seductively, striking a pose that was right out of Hustler. Xander's eye looked at her for moment, then he shrugged.

"You couldn't handle me, little girl." He said dismissively, before walking out the door.

Everyone was silent for a moment as no man had ever blown Faith off in such a manner, then Buffy smirked.

"Burn."

------------------------------

"Good Lord!"

"Whoa!"

"Wow!"

"Sweet!"

"Goddamn X!"

These were the reactions from Giles, Buffy, Willow, Dawn, and Faith respectively. Guns, firearms, explosives, and weapons of all sorts laid on the wall in perfect organization. There was several suits of Xander's armor in differing stages of completion and technological sophistication, but there was on that caught everyone's eye.

It was unlike anything they had ever seen. Xander smirked when he saw their looks. He was quite proud of that particular suit, it wasn't finished as he still had to find a proper energy source but it was his best work yet. Bio electrical chain mail covered the chest, arms, neck, hands and, though it wasn't visible, the legs and feet too. This was for several reasons: One, it allowed his reactions, reflexes, and his strength to be increased by eight hundred percent, Two, it allowed him to send out an electrical charge and electrocute anything he was touch with a maximum five thousand voltage, and Three, it granted him complete invisibility to radar and heat seeking technology.

It's chest piece was a dull, almost stone colored gray. Forged with the best metallurgical techniques and few that were discovered by Xander, the metal used was a hybrid metal alloy of Titanium and Bronzium, the titanium was added in order to solve the instability of the legendary metal's molecular structure. That way if the bonds were somehow breached there wouldn't be a small atomic explosion. His personal emblem was a small orange circle with a black S in the center of the chest piece and in a shield like manner on the right shoulder guard.

The pants were a dark gray with orange stripes outlining where the pockets would be on the thighs of camouflage pants. It was made of a fire retardant material and was extremely durable. There were several knee protectors and arm bracers. The knee protectors were made of the same metal as the chest piece and connected to the boot protectors of the same metal with a shield insignia on the left knee. The bracers had been forged with Kryptonite, should he ever run in to Superman, it wouldn't kill him but it would allow Slade's punches to have the same effect on a Kryptonian as it would normal humans.

The helmet was the last. It had his usual refinements, the voice changer, the hallucinogenic powder in case of death or capture, and, naturally, radio connection to any of his bases or his Slade-bots, but also new improvements: a heads up display or HUD by using thousands of sound waves per second to bounce off of the surroundings, a complete diagnostic scanner for both the suit and his body, and an enhanced sound detection system allowing to hear anything within a five miles radius and pinpoint it's location. Aesthetically, it was black and lacked the ear boxes thanks to the sound detection system, it had only a two inch wide orange stripe running down the left side and eye hole of the helmet.

Next to the suit were two weapons of Xander's design that had finally been finished. One was a quarter staff sized javelin that worked as a bo-staff, harpoon, and a grappling hook. It was made of the same metal as the suit with a lacing of Kryptonite. Second was a sword that he called an air cutter. It was also made of the hybrid alloy and used tiny vibrations on the blade to allow it to cut through almost anything. The downside was that anything that would normally break it, such as Superman's fist, could still do so. He couldn't lace that particular weapon with Kryptonite do to the vibrations would disintegrate the meteor.

All in all, it looked pretty badass and their reactions showed it. Xander hoped to use the suit once his contract with the Batman was over. He still needed to give it some tests and find a proper energy source that wouldn't destroy everything with a hundred yards like Xanothium would, but he knew that he had time. The Titans were far from completing his training and nothing they could throw at him would force him to use the prototype suit. One thing that saddened him is that it didn't make his shoulders look at broad as his current suit did.

He shook himself from his thoughts and looked at the others. He could see that they were satisfied with his weapons. He was a bit disturbed to see that Dawn was unsurprised by the weapons and that she was currently looking at the prototype chain mail suit with longing. He grinned as he realized that she must have figured out that he was Deathstroke the Terminator.

'Such a clever girl.' Slade thought, smirking in pride at his daughter. She was improving at a truly amazing pace. Already, she could speak French, German, and ancient Sumerian. Her skill with the Katana showed that she would reach the level of mastery much sooner than expected, perhaps within a year or two and her hand to hand skills were not too far behind that.

Seeing that everyone was looking at him, he figured it was time to leave the ware house. His uniform was still at Buffy's house and would need it in order for his plan to unfold. He hated to do it to the group again, but he needed the Mayor's confidence. His right eye socket throbbed angrily and he stopped. On second thought maybe he should tell them.

---------------------

"Mayor Wilkins?" Slade asked as he stepped out of the shadows of the sorcerer's office. "I believe we have a great deal to discuss. My employment for example."

"Mr. Deathstroke, is it?" The Mayor asked as Slade nodded in the affirmative. "I think I can use a man of you talents."

AN: I know, I know, it's too short. I figured I have to give you guys something. Good news is that the next chapter will be HUGE. The Prototype suit belongs to turin-the-forsaken. He was kind enough to let me borrow it.
