Assimilation

AN: All disclaimers and such are at the start of the story. jupitarsdaughter asked, and my muse (shockingly) obliged. Sort of. 100 words exactly.

The assimilation of species 1 is complete. The planet turned into a single seamless factory for our rebirth, and all working toward our most important objective.

Species 1 never encountered another sentient race before us. Yet we know at least one other must exist.

There is in our databanks .03 nanoseconds of a recording, barely more than an image: our queen (and we again have a unit of such designation), and another being, a humanoid not of species 1, whose mind contained all that was lost.

We will find this species. We will assimilate it. We will regain our perfection.
