Chapter 20

I don't the X-Men, those belong to Marvel Comics and were created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby

Buffy the Vampire Slayer was created By Joss Whedon and all the characters with the BTVS TV series are his as well.

The Thundercats were created by Ted Wolf and currently belong to Warner Brothers, at one point in time Marvel comics did do a run of the them in comics form, although DC comics do them now.

Nick Fury was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby
Doctor Stephen Strange was created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko

This is a piece of fan fiction. I make no claim to the characters within it and am not writing this to gain any form of profit. This is mostly done for my own amusement and I hope for the enjoyment for the handfuls of people reading it.

Chapter 20

“You ate all the food!” Logan yelled at him..

“Well in my defense you were low on most things.” Xander told him as he patted his full belly. “I needed a snack.”

“There was enough in there to last through the weekend!” Logan screamed at him.

“I didn't touch your beer.” Xander told him.

Logan paused mid rant. “Well... let's get to the store before the others wake up then.”

Xander grinned. He could get to like it here.

“Focus Alexander. If you can do this during life or death situations, you can learn to do this in everyday life. Focus on the feeling you felt the first time you did it. Memorize that sensation and see if you can do it again. Try to move a few feet to your left.” Charles said to him.

Xander grinned and vanished from sight.

There was a muffled scream.

“How did he know Ororo was in the shower?” Charles asked Logan who laughed.

“That kid needs to ease up before...” Logan said before a yowling sound filled the mansion. “She zaps him one.” He finished.

Charles sighed. “Boys will be boys, we'll have to curb that playful sentiment of his.”

“Good luck Chuck.” Logan said with a shake of his head.

Xander appeared a moment later, soaking wet and twitching. “Okay, that may have been a bad idea. My question is not how did she zap me, why wasn't she zapped to since we were both in the same shower?”

“So, do you have the hang of this yet?” Charles asked him.

“Hang on a second.” Xander said before fading from sight.

He showed back up a few minutes later with an Icee.

“Where did you just go?” Xavier asked him.

“Greenwich Village.” Xander said. “So... any chance I can hang out this summer? It'd be...interesting.”

“Are you going to be harassing Ororo again?” Charles asked.

“Zap me once, shame on me. She's not going to zap me again. I'll be good.” Xander promised. “Thanks for your help folks. I'll be getting my stuff and heading back to Doc Strange's place. He said he could take me to my next destination.”

“You are welcome here anytime Alexander, just be sure to behave while you're here all right?” Charles said as he offered his hand.

“You got it Prof.” Xander said.

“So what's your name anyways?” Xander asked the man who'd once again opened the door to Strange's place.

“I am Wong. This place is the Sanctum Sanctorum. He is expecting you.” Wong said to him.

“Great. Thanks for your help Wong.” Xander said.

“I live to serve.” Wong said with a soft smile.

“Where are we?” Xander asked Stephen Strange as he took in the sights, sounds and smells of the area. “Eastern seaboard still huh? Atlantic smells different than the Pacific.”

“We're in Boston proper. The latest Slayer is here. She's been in the care of a Watcher for the past six months as a Potential. She goes by the name of Faith.” Stephen said.

“Thanks... I guess. I just hope this one lasts longer than the last one did.” Xander said with a shake of his head. “She shouldn't have died like that. Broken and alone.”

“Most Slayers do.” Stephen reminded him.

“Right. So, before I meet this Slayer... where's the nearest demon bar?” Xander asked.

“Why?” Strange asked.

“Can you put a map of the city in my head?” Xander asked.

“What are you planning son?” Stephen asked him.

“A sort of welcoming party for the new Slayer. Well, more of a clean up.” Xander said.

“Good Luck.” Stephen said before fading from sight... “Give them hell.” Xander heard the man whisper as Xander suddenly knew what street he was on and where the closest demon bar was.

Xander wandered off towards his destination, taking in the sights of the old city.

“Linda what's going on?” Faith asked her watcher as both of them heard sirens both nearby and in the distance.

“Boston is burning.” Linda said. “But only parts of it. Some of the oldest and some of the newest buildings are going up in flames. We need to get inside.” She told her charge.

Neither woman noticed the figure leaping over the roof tops towards another destination. There was work to be done.

“Boss we've lost six of the safe houses.” Mr. Trick said to his sire Kakistos.

“What in the devil's name is going on?” Kakistos demanded. “Bars burning. Safehouses gone! We're losing territories it took me decades to build. What is happening?”

“We don't know boss.” Mr. Trick said. “You should get to your safe room.” Trick told him. “Whatever this is, it's targeting your people and places.”

“This is my town Trick. I won't hide.” Kakistos declared.

“You really should have listened to your minion.” A voice said.

The two vampires turned and saw fire rushing towards them.

Neither one saw their attacker before the flames engulfed them.

New York

“Sir we've been getting some disturbing reports from our Boston Branch...” a man in a three thousand dollar suit told his direct superior.

Holland Manners sighed. “What's been happening?”

“Boston is burning sir. The entire branch's holdings have been destroyed except for the main headquarters.”

Manners pinched the bridge of his nose. Now was the time. “Johnson, you're in charge of this. Get whatever teams you can on it.”

“Yes sir.” Johnson said before exiting the room.

Once the room was clear Manners opened his briefcase. Within it were the forms he needed to transfer to Los Angeles. He remembered Destiny's warning. Boston would be the death of him.

“Oh... that's a big building.” Xander said as he stared at the Boston branch of Wolfram and Hart.

“It is. Leave it.” He heard from next to him.

“Doc?” Xander asked. “You know what they are.”

“I do. It is well in hand Alexander. Some of the humans within those walls aren't damned yet. You do any more and you risk an imbalance that would end up with you and possibly thousands dead.” Doctor Strange told him.

“You set me on this path this morning Doc.” Xander told the master of mysticism

“I knew you'd have some success, but not this much.” Stephen admitted. “Restraint, my young friend, seems to be something you lack at times.”

“Okay... so what now?” Xander asked him.

“Introduce yourself to the Slayer and go home Alexander. You've done enough tonight.” Strange told him before fading from sight.

“Right.” Xander said before vanishing as well.

It was after dawn when she saw him. A figure nearly gleaming in the sunlight. “You must be the latest Slayer.” she heard him say.

“Yeah. Who the fuck are you?” Faith demanded, trying not to be intimidated.

“I am.. a friend. Last night was my present to you. I cleared out the worst Boston had to offer. There were things here no Slayer should face when first starting out.” The being said.

“I'm touched. Who the fuck are you?” Faith said.

“A friend. We'll meet again Faith Lehane.” The figure said before vanishing in the morning's light.

Xander reappeared in the school's library. “Okay. I have to admit playing the mysterious stranger was kind of fun.”

“Good.” he heard Buffy say. “Welcome back.”

“Good to be back Buffy.” Xander said as the lights came on. “Good to be back.”
