I don't the X-Men, those belong to Marvel Comics and were created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby
Buffy the Vampire Slayer was created By Joss Whedon and all the characters with the BTVS TV series are his as well.
The Thundercats were created by Ted Wolf and currently belong to Warner Brothers, at one point in time Marvel comics did do a run of the them in comics form, although DC comics do them now.
This is a piece of fan fiction. I make no claim to the characters within it and am not writing this to gain any form of profit. This is mostly done for my own amusement and I hope for the enjoyment for the handfuls of people reading it.
Fifteen minutes later....
“I'm ready to go.” Xander said as he lugged a duffel bag stuffed to the brim with clothes and various accessories to the Mansion's hangar entrance.
“That was fast kid.” Logan said with a raised brow.
“He's family.” Xander said firmly.
“Yes, well... because of that I have decided to move up the timetable considerably. Normally since he's an International I would first contact his parents before arranging for him to come here. I will contact his parents while you and Logan go to speak with him directly.” Xavier said as Storm pushed him towards the hangar.
“Thank you. I just hope we can convince him to come with us.” Xander said.
“Yes, well... I happen to have an incentive.” Charles said as he pulled out a watch from his coat pocket.
“What's that?” Xander asked him.
“My friend who developed it calls it an 'image inducer', think of it as a technological equivalent of the glamour you used to wear.” Charles told him.
“So he can pass?” Logan asked him.
“Exactly.” Charles said with a nod. “Please, be your most..... diplomatic.” Charles told the two.
“We'll try.” Logan smirked.
“Hurry back.” Cordelia said to Xander.
“We'll try.” Xander assured her while echoing the gruff man he'd come to respect.
“So I can learn to fly this... SR-77 blackbird was it?” Xander asked Logan. Both men were wearing sets of disposable foam earplugs in order to drown out at least a portion of the noise the plane made. It wasn't helping much.
“You can... in time.” Logan said. “I hate flying myself but you get used to it... mostly.”
“This noise is terrible.” Xander said mostly to himself. “Still better than commercial.”
“We've got some manuals you should read about this bird before anything else.” Logan said. “We've still got a few hours till we refuel in England, get to it.”
“Yeah, sure.” Xander said as he opened the first book detailing the schematics of the bird. They were actually fairly simple to understand compared to some of the Thunderian schematics he remembered working on and helping build from.
“You know... I might be able to design something... better than this provided we can get a better power source.” Xander said as he flipped through the manual.
“That stuff you got floating in your brain?” Logan asked.
“Yeah. I'll need to get a draftsman table when we get back. I think I know a formula or two for some advanced polymers but I don't know if they're real or not.”
“Plastics? Could be useful.” Logan mused.
“Really?” Xander asked. “Why?”
“There's a mutant that Chuck used to work with, he's got a real.... magnetic personality.” Logan said with a smirk.
“Hmm....” Xander mused. “I'd need to try and dust off these skills, they're not really mine.”
“Something to check out once we get back. That fancy sword of yours do anything besides put the hurt on demons?” Logan asked.
“Well, theoretically it can heal as well. I haven't tested that particular facet out yet because of how I heal.” Xander said.
“Huh. Think it'll work on regular mutants?” Logan asked. “Could prove handy in a pinch.”
“I don't know. Worth a try. You know anyone that's injured?” Xander asked him.
“Yeah, Cyclops.” Logan said.
“He seems fine.” Xander said. “What's wrong with him?”
“Prof thinks he can't control his powers due to a head injury he had back before his abilities kicked in. If we could fix that, he wouldn't need the glasses.” Logan said. “Worth a try right? Kid's a walking cannon otherwise.”
“We can try when we get back.” Xander said. “No promises though.”
“Trains...” Logan muttered as the car they were on went dark for a moment. “We should be getting there soon.”
“Hey, it beats driving right? I've heard the Autobahn is crazy.” Xander grinned.
“Whatever. Our stop is next. Grab your stuff.” Logan said while shaking his head. “Can't believe you're wearing that suit on this trip.”
Xander adjusted his tie. “Don't blame me, Cordy made me promise to put my best foot forward on this, and for her that means wearing a tailored suit. The sword can change it to 'work clothes' faster than you can change into yours.” Xander told him.
Logan grunted and got out of the compartment. “We're going.”
The edges of Titisee-Neustadt, the Black Forest area of Germany....
The two men walked up a well tread path. “This has got to be the place.” Xander said. “It's where those villagers pointed us.”
“The kid's a bit of a local celebrity.” Logan said. “He's been an acrobat for a while with a traveling circus. Least that means he has a passport.”
“Yeah.” Xander said quietly. “Let's just hope he and his folks will listen to us.”
“Somehow, I don't think that will be a problem.” Logan said. “Chuck called ahead.” he told him before knocking on the door.
A short, gray haired woman open the door. “Can I help you?” She asked them in German.
Xander looked at Logan. “I got this.” Logan told him before switching to German. “Charles Xavier sent us. We're here to speak to you about your son Kurt.”
The woman nodded and stepped back from the door way. The invitation was implied, but not spoken. Old habits were good habits it seemed.
Logan and Xander walked inside and both men inhaled through their noses. “He smells a little like you kid.” Logan said to Xander in English.
“He's not a full sibling.” Xander said. “Touch of brimstone too. Weird.”
“You are related to my son?” the woman asked Xander in English.
“Half brothers.” Xander said. “ I only know because of....some digging I've done.”
“You're certain?” The woman asked him.
Xander nodded. “Don't be shocked.” he said while he shifted his skin to blue.
“I see the resemblance.” Mrs. Wagner said quietly. “Now of all times.” she muttered before crossing herself.
“You're Catholic?” Xander asked her.
“Anglican myself.” Xander told her. “My name is Alexander. I was also adopted so my last name doesn't mean much.”
“We raised Kurt to be a good boy.” The woman told him.
Xander nodded. “Can we see him? I've known about him for over a two years but this is the first chance I've had to meet him.”
“Hold on.” The woman said quietly before screaming “Kurt! Get down here!” in German.
There was a flash of yellow light and a burst of smoke that reeked of brimstone and a blue furred teen appeared in the middle of the living room. “Yes mother?” Kurt asked before seeing that they had company.
“Woah! You're blue too!” Kurt said before his mother told him to speak in English. Kurt apologized before switching to English. “You're blue too!” he said
“You're close.” Xander said before multicolored fur sprouted out from his skin. “I'm your half brother Kurt.”
“No.” Kurt said softly.
“We share the same mother. Her name is Raven Darkholme.” Xander said in an even tone.
“You know her?” Kurt demanded. “Why weren't you abandoned?”
“I was taken from her Kurt. She doesn't even know I exist. My birth was... unique. My mutation didn't kick in until I was your age. My name is Alexander Creed I guess. But I'm known as Xander to my friends.”
“Why are you here?” Kurt asked.
“We're offering you a place to belong. A place where designed to help young people gain control over their abilities. A place where you would be welcomed.” Logan told him.
“What's the catch?” Kurt wondered.
“It's in the United States. You'd have to leave here.” Logan told him.
“Do you know where our mother is?” Kurt asked Xander.
Xander shook his head. “I think we're better off not knowing. She isn't.... a good person Kurt.”
“What do you mean?” Kurt asked.
“She's a mercenary at times.” Logan said. “She's also working with people who viewpoints similar to hers on certain issues. She's bad news.”
“She kills people?” Kurt asked, hesitantly.
“Yep.” Logan said while Xander nodded.
“She's no mother of mine then.” Kurt said with an angry tone in his voice.
“I agree.” Xander said. “Killing people isn't something people should do. Not when there are other things out there that are much worse.”
“What do you mean?” Kurt asked him.
“It's.... a long story.” Xander said. “We can talk about it on the way.”
“Before I forget...here.” Logan said handing Kurt a wristwatch.
“What is this?” Kurt asked.
“It's called an 'image inducer'” Logan said. “It'll help you pass in public. It's not a toy though.” He warned the teenager before handing him the watch.
Kurt put the watch on and pressed one of the buttons. His form flickered and he looked like a normal five fingered teenager. “Woah! Cool!” Kurt said.
Xander shifted his own form to normal and Kurt's mother looked between the two. “Yes, the resemblance is there after all. You should go Kurt. After the fire, people are going to ask questions.”
“Fire?” Logan asked.
“One of the wagons caught fire on our trip home. That was when my ability to teleport first happened.” Kurt explained.
Xander nodded. “Mutation has been known to trigger during moments of extreme stress.”
“It's getting dark. We should head back. Kurt, if you're coming now is the time.” Logan told the young teen.
Kurt looked to his mother who nodded. “I'll need to pack.” Kurt said. “I've some specialty clothing, you know because of the tail.”
“Let's get you situated.” Xander said with a grin. “I'll help.” He offered before following his brother upstairs.
“So, who's your father? Do you know who mine is?” Kurt asked him.
“My father is another mutant whose names is Victor Creed. He's a bastard.” Xander told him. “So what kind of hobbies do you have?”
“Oh you know the usual, back flips, walking tight ropes, looking at pretty girls.” Kurt told him.
“Really? Well some of those I can understand.” Xander said with a grin. “In fact there was one time I sneaked into the girls showers at school....” Xander recollected...
“Wow, you can teleport too?” Kurt asked Xander as the three males teleported into the cockpit of the Blackbird.
“I'm not your average mutant.” Xander told him with a grin. “Let's let Logan clear the flight plan while I introduce you to Germany's finest airport food court.”
The two brothers assumed normal appearances before leaving the plane. Logan nodded and told Xander they had an hour before takeoff.
“So what's this place like?” Kurt asked Xander as they set two trays loaded with cheeseburgers, pretzels and pizza slices.
“It's a nice place.” Xander told him. “It's spacious, and the two kids already at the institute are nice. Scott kind of has a stick up his ass but he's all right.”
“Huh... so there's a regular school I could go to? I've been home schooled for the most part.” Kurt asked Xander.
“I've been told a few things about Bayville High.” Xander said. “I'm attending the local community college myself.”
“Wow really?” Kurt asked. “Cool.” He said before digging into his pile of food.
The two teens ate in silence as they tried to cram as much food in during a short space of time. Once they were sufficiently stuffed they headed back towards the blackbird.
Logan stared at them. “Vomit bags are in the back.” he told them before ordering them to strap in.
“Are you okay?” Kurt asked Xander as the two were sitting in the first passenger row of the cockpit.
“I really hate flying.” Xander muttered. “It's the noise more than anything else.”
“It's pretty quiet in here.” Kurt said confusedly.
“No it isn't.” Xander and Logan said in unison.
Kurt looked at them like they were crazy before grinning to himself.
“This is America huh?” Kurt said as he looked around the hangar. “It's kinda cramped.”
“We're at the Institute.” Logan said as the three men walked down the ramp.
“Is it cool if I turn off the image inducer?” Kurt asked.
“Feel free.” Xander said as he loosened his tie and let his fur out.
“Thanks.” Kurt said before pressing the button to turn off the inducer “Man, it's weird keeping my tail bound that long.” He said as he wiggled it around a bit.
“You'll get used to it.” Xander assured him. “If I can get used to keeping my fur under wraps you can use your tail like a belt.”
“I guess. So where are the other teens you were telling me about?” Kurt asked.
“In bed.” Logan said. “You'll get used to the time change soon.”
“Why aren't you two tired?” Kurt asked.
“We don't sleep much.” Xander told him.
“Oh.” Kurt said quietly. “So where's my room?”
“Let me show you.” Logan said while looking at Xander. “Wouldn't want you to make any mistakes on where you're sleeping.”
Kurt looked between the two of them. “Am I missing something?”
“Nothing much.” Xander said with a grin. “Had an incident when I first got here. I got a little lost. Now if you don't mind, I have to try not to wake up my girlfriend.” He winked at his brother before vanishing from sight.
“I wish I could teleport without making any noise.” Kurt muttered.
“Well I wish everyone didn't stink. You'll get used to it kid.” Logan told him while patting his shoulder.
“Right. So where's my room?” Kurt asked him.
“Let me show you, so you don't get confused.” Logan said with a smirk.
“So how is he?” Cordelia asked him as Xander slipped in between the covers.
“He's pretty good. I think he'll fit in here. I really do.” Xander told her.
“Good.” Cordelia said. “I found something interesting while you were gone.” She told him.
“Oh?” Xander asked her.
“Someone left me Pumyra's slingshot in our bed.” She said as she nuzzled into his chest. “Think I can test it out in the danger room soon?”
“In the morning..” Xander told her. “So are you up for a little fun tonight?”
“Maybe. Did you eat a lot of junk food? Your breath smells like pretzels and pizza.” she said with a hint of distaste on her face.
“I'll be right back.” Xander told her before going to go freshen up.
THE NEXT MORNING....
“So this is the kitchen?” Kurt asked Xander as the two made their way into the brightly lit room.
“It is.” Xander told him. “The two over there at the table are Scott and Jean. They're going to be a year ahead of you at Bayville High.”
“Hey.” Kurt said while waving his tail.
The two teens stared at them.
“There's two of them now.” Scott said, half in shock.
“This is my half brother Kurt.” Xander told the two. “He'll be staying here and going to school once the fall semester starts up.”
Jean and Scott nodded and went back to their cereal.
“Are they always like this?” Kurt asked Xander.
“Nah, it's just early.” Xander assured him.
“Where is your girlfriend? Cordelia was it?” Kurt asked him.
“She's still sleeping.” Xander told his brother. “She'll be out pretty soon but she's going to shower first.”
“Oh... So what can I get for breakfast around here? Is there any pumpernickel or rolls?” Kurt asked them.
“Let's see what I can work with okay?” Kurt said after a moment.
“Okay, this is pretty good.” Xander admitted. “Though unless we contract with a butcher the cold cuts will get pretty pricey after a while.” He said to his brother before biting into his soft boiled egg on toast.
“Kid's got some taste. A lot easier to pick and choose this way.” Logan admitted. “Besides as much as I love bacon, this is pretty good.”
“Blasphemer!” Xander said. “You can never turn down bacon!”
“Not turn down, just have less of.” Logan said with a grin.
“Huh... this is different.” Cordelia said as she walked into the kitchen wearing red boots and Pumyra's normal outfit. She poured herself a tall cup of coffee before sitting down and helping herself to the varieties of meats, cheeses and some rolls as well.
Kurt looked at her then at his brother. “You're dating a Thundercat?” He asked him.
Logan snorted into his coffee.
“Not exactly.” Cordelia said as she put her mug down. “You must be Kurt, Xander's told me what he can about you. I'm Cordelia Chase. Xander is among other things, my boyfriend.” She said with a winning smile while offering the mutant her hand.
Kurt shook it. “Nice to meet you.” Kurt said. “So, you're not a Thundercat?”
“She's human mostly.” Professor Xavier said as he rolled into the kitchen, “Though some of the DNA she has is closer to Feline than normal human. Not much, but enough.” He looked at the table. “Ah, a Continental breakfast of sorts. Lovely.” The Professor said before loading up a light helping for himself.
“Are you Professor Xavier?” Kurt asked him.
“I am. Welcome to my home Mr. Wagner.” the man said with a smile.
“Thank you for having me here sir.” Kurt said with a solemn nod.
“You're quite welcome young Kurt. If I hadn't found you first, I am quite sure your brother would have tracked you down eventually.” Charles told him.
“So I'll really be going to a normal High school here?” Kurt asked him.
“I have some sway with the school board and as long as you wear the image inducer we gave you, you should pass for a normal teenager.” Xavier said with a smile.
“Great.” Kurt said. “Is there any chance you can track down our mother? I'd really like to meet this Raven Darkholme at least once. I want to know why she abandoned me.”
Scott and Jean perked up when they heard the name and looked over at Professor Xavier who tensed for a moment before sighing. “I suppose I shouldn't hide this considering. Your mother is in town Kurt. She's the principal for the school you'll be attending.
“WHAT?” Kurt and Xander shouted in unison.
“She became the new principal this year. If I'm right, she's going to try to be recruiting mutants like we ourselves are going to be doing, however for a different cause.” Xavier said quietly.
“Explain.” Cordelia told him.
“When I was younger, and my own powers were just developing, I met another mutant by the name of Eric...” The professor began while the five teenagers listened with rapt attention.
“So he's essentially got the same idea as you, but he's using other means towards his own goal. Mutants taking their so called rightful place over humanity?” Xander asked him.
“Essentially yes. He believes me to be a... an idealistic fool.” Xavier told him.
“That's crazy. If the X-Gene is part of the current population and the number of people carrying it and activating it are going to increase... secrecy is a better option. It's a long game, but the fact is it'll be a numbers game as well. A few more generations down the line, there will be a large pool of X-Gene carriers and mutants to choose from. Maybe even half of the population... Of course he won't live that long will he?” Xander asked him.
“Unless he finds a method of extending his lifespan... no. I fear he will want to do as much as he can to gain control in his lifetime. His ego would demand nothing less than that.” Xavier said quietly. “He changed a great deal over the years I have known him. It is possible that he can still turn back from the path he was on the last time we met, but as time goes on... the certainty of that happening decreases.”
“So, he's going to try to usurp the possible recruits?” Scott asked.
“Our mother is going to.” Xander said quietly. “She's a shapeshifter, capable of becoming anyone. That being the case... she could look like us to put the fear in possible recruits. When some mutants powers kick in, things can get real weird real fast. They'll have problems telling what's real, let alone who they can trust.”
“I want to meet her.” Kurt said suddenly.
“I don't know if that's wise.” Xavier said quietly.
“I wish to meet her at least once.” Xander said. “Even if she doesn't remember me.” He said before Both he and Logan looked up. The front doorbell rang.
“I thought the gate was locked.” Charles said to Logan.
“It is. They'd have to know the codes to get past it, or sneak in.” Logan said standing.
Everyone got up and Kurt turned on his image inducer as they headed to the front door.
They stared at the image on the screen by the door and Kurt looked at Cordelia. “I didn't know you had a sister.” he said to her.
“I don't. At least I don't think I do. My hair is from a mystical thing. Hers is natural I think.” Cordelia said though she looked at her closely. “Xander... was I adopted?” She asked him.
“Do you want the truth on that?” He asked her.
“You said a lot of us in Sunnydale were adopted.... was I one of them?” She asked him.
Xander sighed. “Yes, you were.” he told her reluctantly.
The doorbell rang again.
Cordelia took a deep breath and gathered herself together. She would freak out over being adopted later. It was nowhere near as bad as she thought it would be. Her parents hadn't been very close to her anyways. Not like real parents like Buffy's mom was. Now was what was important, not the past.
Logan opened the door while Charles spoke. “Can we help you?” He asked the brown haired blind woman and the brunette teen with white in her hair that was dressed like much like a goth.
“My name is Irene Adler, and this is my young charge... Anna Marie.” She said quietly. “I go by another name at times... Destiny.”
“You.” Xander said quietly.
“Yes, me.” Destiny said solemnly. “It was an infinitesimally small chance that you would have been conceived... when you were... everything changed. Which is why I'm here with Anna. I can't in good conscience let her powers activate as they will in a few months time. I bring her to you along with this.” She said while handing Xander a black crystal. “Break it and your mother's memory of you will be restored.” she told him.
“So you're my sister?” the goth teen asked Cordelia. Her voice was soft but with a strong southern accent.
“I... I....” Cordelia said dumbstruck.
“She didn't know yet child.” Destiny told her.
“Oh.” Anna Marie said quietly. “Irene brought me up here to... stay? If that's all right?”
“Why go against Mystique?” Xander asked her. “Again?”
“The outcome is better this way.” Irene told him.
“The outcome for who?” Charles asked her.
“Everyone of course.” Irene said simply. “If you'll excuse me I have to go.” She told them before turning to leave.
“Seers... what can you do?” Xander said for everyone.
Logan made a move to go after her, but Charles shook his head.
“This is a time for new people and faces here. You are welcome here child.” Charles told her. “If and when your abilities activate, we will be here to help you.”
“Thanks. So who are you people? I mean I know about Alexander and Cordelia, but Irene didn't talk about all of you.” Anna asked them
“Well, let us clean up the remains of breakfast and we can tell you.” Charles said as he let Anna into the house.
AN: Yes, I'm skewing the timeline a great deal.
That's part of the fun isn't it?”
Sorry for the lack of overall updates, it was hard trying to get back into Son of Spengler, then our internet went out. I also got into watching the old Adventures of Superman with George Reeves, then a vacation.... On the plus side I did watch all of X-Men Evolution.
