I don't the X-Men, those belong to Marvel Comics and were created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby
Buffy the Vampire Slayer was created By Joss Whedon and all the characters with the BTVS TV series are his as well.
The Thundercats were created by Ted Wolf and currently belong to Warner Brothers, at one point in time Marvel comics did do a run of the them in comics form, although DC comics do them now.
This is a piece of fan fiction. I make no claim to the characters within it and am not writing this to gain any form of profit. This is mostly done for my own amusement and I hope for the enjoyment for the handfuls of people reading it.
“So what are you wearing?” Cordelia asked Anna Marie as they sat down in the kitchen while the others were putting up the remains of breakfast and doing dishes.
“Clothes... Irene had me thinking I had a skin condition, but when my powers activate... I'm supposed to be able to absorb things from other people.” Anna said quietly.
“Oh.” Cordelia said quietly. “That sounds like it will be very hard. I... I don't know if I could do that.” she told her supposed sister.
“I've grown up not being touched a lot.” Anna said. “I'm kind of used to it, but what Irene told me... I don't think I'm going to like it very much. She doesn't know exactly when these powers will pop up, but that they will.”
“Well if that's the case, what you have on isn't so bad... though when you get out of school we can get you into something more grown up.” Cordelia told her.
“You're... okay with this? And why are you judging me on what I wear? Have you seen yourself?” Anna asked her while gesturing at what Cordelia considered an outfit.
“This is my workout gear I guess you could say. Xander told me we were going to have a workout session in the danger room... a training area. Besides, I wouldn't leave the house in this unless I really had to.” Cordelia told her. “Do you know who our parents are? I just found out I was adopted. It was a secret my boyfriend kept from me.”
Anna shook her head. “Not really. I was adopted at the age of four by someone, turns out it was Mystique, but Irene's been taking care of me for almost eight years now.”
“That woman seems to abandon her children far too often.” Cordelia said with a shake of her head. “Anyways... what are your interests?” Cordelia asked her.
“Well I like reading poetry”Anna told her. “There are a couple of bands I like too.”
“Well, you should tell us what you like and if you didn't bring any of it with you we can get it. As for your powers.... We'll work around them somehow.” Cordelia assured her.
“I think I know of a way to activate them.” Xander said as he dried some dishes with a towel.
“What have you got in mind?” Professor Xavier asked him.
“Well, you told us that there are two types of mutants. The ones like me who'd been born with an active X-Gene, others whose gene becomes active due to stress or trauma.... Well I can think of two ways that could trigger one's X-Gene safely... One fun way, one mind numbingly terrifying way.” Xander told him.
“What are they?” Scott asked.
“Well... where's the closest high bridge around here?” Xander asked them.
“Huh?” Scott asked intelligently.
Anna's eyes widened as she realized what Xander was implying. “I've never done that before.” Anna said breathlessly.
“Done what?” Scott asked.
“He's not too bright is he?” Anna asked Jean who was smirking.
“He has his moments.” Jean told her.
“Hey!” Scott said, taking offense.
“Bungee jumping.” Kurt said snapping his fingers. “The adrenalin rush right?”
“I hadn't thought of that.” Charles admitted. “It could work... What's the other idea you have?”
“You know how I might have a limited psychic ability?” Xander asked him. “I think I can focus it for a few moments.”
“Doing what?” Scott asked.
“To cause absolute terror.” Xander said. “If I could test it out on a willing subject who had an inactive X-Gene and it triggered....”
“You would want to inspire terror in people?” Jean asked skeptically.
“I can be scary.” Xander defended.
“No, I just don't see you inspiring fear in anyone.” Jean told him.
“Then you haven't seen him in battle. He can be pretty scary against demons when he's in the mood.” Cordelia told her.
“Demons?” Anna and Kurt asked.
“Oh yes. We should probably introduce this group to the supernatural sooner or later shouldn't we?” Charles asked Xander.
“If you want to give them some of my memories of Sunnydale feel free Prof. I trust you.” Xander told him.
“At a later date. I wouldn't want them to go hunting for demons until after I'm certain they can truly take care of themselves.” Charles told him. “Not all of them have the knack you do.”
“It can be a little tricky to shove a blade into the fourth vertebrae.” Xander admitted. “Though I haven't been robbing vampires very much lately.”
“You should.” Charles told him.
“Wait, you want him to rob people?” Kurt asked confusedly.
“Vampires.” Xavier explained. “They are animated corpses inhabited by weaker blood demons. Xander used to donate a decent portion of what he took to church and charity.” Xavier shook his head. “Later on that, much later. Now if Cordelia and yourself want to use the Danger Room, feel free. There are a couple of scenarios I've been inputting you two might be familiar with.”
“Oh?” Xander asked him.
“I found some old tapes.” Xavier said by way of explanation.
“Really?” Xander asked with a grin.
“Just try not to blow anything up.” Xavier told him.
“Holy crap she can jump.” Scott said as they watched Cordelia jump over an orange furred Jackalman that was dive bombing her in something called a Skycutter.
“That she can.” Xavier said as he fiddled with the controls. “She might just be able to fit in on a team as a field medic if the aptitude test I had her take are any indication.”
“Field medic?” Anna asked him.
“She has a great deal of medical knowledge, though it's slightly buried. She can take care of herself in a fight, but she isn't what most would consider front line material.” Charles said. “She's been doing some side studying and has developed a couple of interesting things out of everyday herbs.”
“Like what?” Scott asked.
“A sedative solution, and a powerful one at that.” Charles said.
“What good would that do?” Scott asked.
“Imagine that you're faced with an impossibly strong opponent. You can't use knockout gas because he can just leap out of the cloud. Instead you can hit him with modified paint balls that contain a powerful sedative that can be adsorbed through the skin.” Xavier explained.
“Really?” Scott asked.
“Yes. Logan is busy modifying some of the perimeter guns now. The best part is, all of the herbs were purchased legally.” Xavier said with a grin. “A nonviolent solution with minimal collateral damage is always a good one.”
“We'll try to remember that professor.” Jean said while elbowing Scott in the ribs because he looked like he wanted to argue.
“Not bad.” Xander said to Cordelia after she landed the Skycutter.
“I'm rusty and you know it.” She told him.
“A bit.” Xander admitted. “You should do some of the morning drills with me and Logan. That'll get you back into top shape.”
“Maybe if I got enough sleep I wouldn't wake up so late.” Cordelia countered.
“You're complaining?” Xander asked her with a lecherous grin.
“Never mind.” She said while rolling her eyes. “Let's go see if we can go Bungee jumping and trigger Anna's power.”
“It sounds like a terrible ability.” Xander said quietly.
“And being ageless isn't?” Cordelia asked him.
“You've been talking to Buffy haven't you?” Xander asked her.
“I have. You could have told me that you're practically immortal, and that I was adopted.” Cordelia told him before punching him in the arm.
“I'm sorry Cordy, the sheer number of kids in our school who were adopted... It's mind boggling.” Xander told her. “There was magic at work there. Bad magic. If kids found out, it would have disrupted the magic. Parents might have gone a little nuts.”
Cordelia nodded. “Sorry. It's just been a weird day. You have a brother, I have a sister... It's crazy!”
“No, what's crazy is the fact you took out Jackalman like nobody's business. You'll do fine Cordy.” Xander assured her.
“Right.” Cordelia said with a nod. “I'm going to go put on my power suit.” she told him.
“That double breasted number?” Xander asked her with wiggling eyebrows.
“That's the one. If I leave here, I'm going to be dressed for it.” She told him. “And you had better too.”
“But I like wearing cargo pants and t-shirts.” Xander whined.
“I know you do. But we're going to give my sister a proper introduction to Bayville.”
“How about you put on the crimson skirt and the orange sweater, I put on the brown slacks and the green shirt and we let Scott wear an ascot?” Xander offered.
“Doe Jean even have a purple dress?” Cordelia asked him with a grin.
“No but I'm sure we can get one.” Xander said.
“Let's do that.” She said with a wide smile. “I'm not wearing glasses though.” She told him.
“Not even fake ones? Xander pouted.
“Nope.” Cordelia told him.
“This is your car?” Kurt asked Xander in wonder.
“It is.” Xander said with a nod.
“This is a DoomMobile isn't it?” Kurt asked him.
“How do you know that?” Xander asked him. “Does everyone know about this type of van?”
“There was a thirty car pileup on the Autobahn a while back, one of these was the only vehicle that made it out unscathed.” Kurt told him while he had a hand down the van. “Does it have the standard locks?”
“Keys and numerical combination to start the engine yes.” Xander said with a nod. “No one is going to be taking my Mystery Machine without some effort.”
“Good. Let's go!” Kurt said before turning on his image inducer. “Is there a movie theater in town? I would love to go see something!”
“We'll see what we can do, after we go see the bridges in town.” Xander told him. “As it stands, I'm still not too familiar with the town.”
“Well let's drive for a while.” Kurt said.
“I'm up for it if you guys are.” Scott said.
“Could we go to the mall?” Jean asked.
“Are you going to get a purple dress?” Xander asked her.
Jean stared at him for a moment before she realized what he was wearing.... “Fine.” She said with a sigh.
“Good.” Xander grinned.
“Yes, good.” Cordelia said as she came into the garage.
“Oh my god!” Jean said before giggling.
“Does this mean I'm the dog?” Kurt asked confused.
“No Kurt it doesn't.” Anna said. “Although you do make a nice Velma.” She said to her sister.
“Thanks, though the wig itches a little.” Cordelia admitted as she adjusted it slightly.
“I'm going to be Fred aren't I?” Scott asked.
“Yep.” Xander said with a grin. “Everybody pile in and buckle up. We need to stop by a wig shop and a retro clothing store before anything else.”
“I'm going to regret coming here aren't I?” Anna asked Cordelia from the back row of the van.
“If you behave we'll let you take the pictures.” Cordelia grinned.
“I didn't agree to pictures.” Scott argued.
“I think you're outvoted dude.” Kurt told him.
“Fine, but I want everyone to know I was against this.” Scott said.
“Sure, sure.” Xander said as he started the van. “We're going.”
“Jean is that you?” a blond male asked the redhead as the strangely dressed group walked past him in the mall.
“Duncan!” Jean said nervously. “Hi!” She said.
“Summers?” Duncan said as he stared at the teen, recognizing him only due to his unique sunglasses.
“Matthews.” Scott said with a nod.
Xander and Cordelia shared a look. Scott didn't like the kid.
“We'll be in the food court.” Xander said to Jean while putting a firm hand on Scott's shoulder.
“Relax Scott, Jean will understand in time.” Xander said to the shaded teen as he sipped on his Slurpee.
“Understand what?” Kurt asked before munching on his comically large cookie.
“That Duncan Matthews is a tool.” Cordelia said while Anna snorted.
“He's not that bad.” Scott said.
“You're defending him? Have some balls man.” Xander said with a shake of his head.
“I have balls.” Scott defended.
“Uh-huh.” Xander said skeptically while sipping on his beverage. The others began laughing.
“Never mind.” Scott said before banging his head on the table.
“I think the ascot is cutting off the circulation to his brain.” Anna said to Kurt.
“Is banging his head supposed to help that?” he asked her.
“I don't think so.” Anna said before laughing.
“You ready?” Xander asked Anna.
“Of course I'm not ready. That's the whole point isn't it?” She half yelled at him. “Let just do this.”
All right.” Xander said before tossing her over the side of the bridge.
Xander and the others watched her fall and the cord work its magic.
“Well if that didn't do it, we should try the other thing once you figure it out.” Cordelia said as Xander started hauling the girl up.
“How are balanced like that?” Kurt asked his brother who was precariously perched on the bridge railing.
“I just am.” Xander said as he finally hauled up Anna. He made sure not to touch her skin as he unhooked her from the set up.
“How do you feel?” Xander asked her.
“I feel like my heart wants to leap out of my throat.” She said before she stood on shaky legs. “How do we test this?” she asked him.
“Some needs to touch you.” Xander told her. “No offense, but I don't think I want to hand out my abilities to anyone.” He said as he rubbed his left arm.
“I'll do it. She's my sister.” Cordelia offered as Anna took off one of her gloves.
The two sisters touched hands and Cordelia collapsed.
Xander caught her before she hit the pavement.
“She's activated her mutation!” Kurt said in awe as Anna stepped back and clutched her head.
Anna put her glove back on and looked at Xander before blushing.
“What?” Xander asked her.
“Nothing.” Anna said a little too quickly before looking away.
“You saw something didn't you?” Xander asked Anna which only caused her to blush even more.
“I... it's personal.” She told him. “We need to get her to a hospital or something.”
“She's.. in a coma I think.” Xander said. “There's a decent infirmary at Xavier's. Everyone load up and I'll get us back there.” He told the others as he put Cordelia in the back of the van.
“So what did you see?” Jean asked Anna.
“I said it's personal.” Anna told her.
“Fine... we'll talk later.” Jean said with the last part in a whisper.
“I heard that.” Xander called from the front seat of the van.
“So it worked?” Xavier asked Xander as he appeared in the man's study.
“It did.” Xander said with a nod. “Anna used Cordelia's medical knowledge to hook her up with an IV to keep her hydrated while she's out. Anna's kind of shaken up about this whole thing, but her powers were activated in fairly controlled conditions.”
“That's the best we can hope for I suppose.” Xavier said with a sigh. “I don't necessarily approve of this method Xander, but it worked.”
“Have you thought about my other idea?” Xander asked him.
“Yes, but I honestly don't agree in forcing people's X-Gene to activate. Even if you can sniff them out, they'd have to volunteer.” Xavier told him.
Xander nodded. “I wouldn't force anyone to become a mutant professor. You have to believe that.”
“I do son. I do. We can work on it if you like, it might become a fearsome ablilty.” Xavier told him.
“Isn't that kind of the point?” Xander asked him confusedly.
Xavier struggled not to laugh.
“So what did you see?” Jean asked Anna as she sat across the room from the brown and gray haired teen. The two were waiting for Cordelia to wake up in the infirmary.
“I saw Xander.” She told Jean.
“Saw Xander what?” Jean asked with a grin.
“Everything.” Anna said with a blush.
“Really?” Jean asked before grinning. “How big is his.... you know?”
Anna spread her hands apart.
“No way!” Jean said.
Anna blushed but nodded.
“You're talking about Xander's penis aren't you?” Cordelia murmured from the bed.
“You're awake!” Anna said.
“I am.” Cordelia said before sitting up gingerly. “That's one type of 'small talk' I'm always up for gossiping about.” She said with a small grin.
“You okay?” Xander asked her as he bandaged up her hand after removing the IV line.
“A little shaky but I'm okay.” She told him. “It was really weird. It felt like everything I was just flowed out of me.”
“That's the nature of her power.” Xander said. “She was the one that set up your IV. She knew her way around the infirmary like you do.”
“Well it's active now. That being the case... we're going to have to get her a better wardrobe.” Cordelia told him. “Take me to our bed will you? This one's pretty uncomfortable.”
“Sure.” Xander said before the two teens vanished from the infirmary.
Moments later Kurt wandered in with a bowl of his mother's specialty soup....
“More for me then.” He said to himself before digging in to the strange brew.
“Kurt what is in this soup?” Logan asked him as he finished off his third bowl.
“You know, this and that.” Kurt said with a shrug.
“What's the that exactly?” Logan asked him.
“Just some birds I trapped outside.”
“What kind of birds?” Logan asked the German teen.
“Some crows. It is crows foot soup after all.” Kurt told him.
Logan stared at him for second before laughing. “Don't ever change kid. Though next time, just use some chickens.”
“Why? My mom's recipe for chicken soup is completely different from her crow's foot soup.” Kurt asked him.
“Seriously, don't ever change.” Logan said before walking off while laughing.
Professor Xavier rolled into the kitchen. “Do I smell soup?” He asked Kurt.
Logan's laughter that was drifting down the hallway suddenly got louder.
“You do.” Kurt said. “It's one of my mom's recipes. I made it because Cordelia was feeling down, but she was gone when I went to take her a bowl in the infirmary.”
“Well, how much is left?” Xavier asked him.
“Enough for a few more bowls. Do you want some? It doesn't really reheat well.” Kurt asked him.
“Sure. It smells lovely.” Xavier told him.
“Let me ladle you up a bowl.” Kurt said as he got a clean bowl out.
The next morning...
“How are you feeling?” Xander asked her as she stretched in bed.
“Better.” She said. “Thirsty though.” She told him.
He got her a glass of water and she drank it quickly. “Thanks.” She said before getting out of bed. “I really don't want to go thorough that again.” She told him.
Xander nodded. “I can understand that.” He said quietly. “Come on, I think Kurt's handling breakfast again.”
“Your brother can cook.” Cordelia said with a grin. “Shame you can't.”
“I try. Though Logan was trying to tell me something about Kurt's soup earlier this morning.” Xander said with a shake of his head. “Shower up. I'll have a plate ready for you at the table when you get out.”
Cordelia nodded and headed for their bathroom.
“What is so funny about Kurt's soup Logan?” Ororo asked him as Logan tried to stop laughing.
“Yes, what is so amusing? Kurt's soup was quite delicious.” Charles asked Logan.
“You're killing me here Chuck.” Logan said still chuckling.
“I really don't see what's so funny.” Kurt said as he took out some fresh rolls from the oven.
“You wouldn't.” Logan said. “I... I have to go.” He told them before stumbling out of the kitchen.
“Is he going to be okay?” Ororo asked Charles.
“I believe he will be in time.” Charles said solemnly. “Maybe he isn't used to being around so many youths.”
“I still don't think I have ever seen Logan.... giggle like that.” Ororo said as they watched him walk towards the wall surrounding the property through the large kitchen window.
“Maybe it was something he ate.” Charles mused.
Logan fell to the ground laughing.
“I miss anything?” Xander asked as he walked into the kitchen.
“Not really.” Kurt said as he used his tail to grasp a spoon that stirred some batter while his hands were busy kneading some dough.
“That's good.” Xander said. “You sleep okay?” He asked his brother.
“Fine.” Kurt said while molding the dough into the correct shape.
“Is it me or is Logan laughing hysterically?” Xander asked as he stared out the window.
“It's not you.” Xavier and Ororo said in unison.
“Oh.” Xander said before pouring himself a cup of coffee. “Weird.” he said to himself.
“Logan seems like a weird guy.” Kurt said as he finished putting the dough in the oven. “Well, that'll be fresh bread in about forty minutes.” He told them.
“Sounds good. Anything interesting in the paper?” Xander asked Professor Xavier.
“Something about a possible promotion for a live action Scooby Doo Movie, but nothing out of the ordinary other than that.” Charles said with a grin.
“That was fun.” Xander said with a nod. “So limited outings that way?”
“If you don't mind.” Charles told him.
“All right fine. It was all in fun and no one got hurt.” Xander defended.
“I know... We just don't need any of those Hollywood people getting ideas.” Xavier told him.
“Gotcha.” Xander said as he sipped his coffee.
