Emma Frost was created by Chris Claremont and John Bryne.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer was created By Joss Whedon and all the characters with the BTVS TV series are his as well.

The Thundercats were created by Ted Wolf and currently belong to Warner Brothers, at one point in time Marvel comics did do a run of the them in comics form, although DC comics do them now.

Chapter 34:

Logan sighed contentedly as he sipped his coffee. There was nothing quite as satisfying as putting the kid through the paces. He was managing Logan's run level 8 pretty easily. After this little session the kid needed to work on upping his strength. He'd consulted the Prof on it and the kid's mass had increased by a hundred pounds since he'd gotten to the institute along with a twenty percent increase in overall strength.

In time, the kid might end up actually weighing a ton and being able to lift far more than that.

He pressed the button and ended the simulation. “All right kid.” He said over the intercom. “Get over to the hydraulic press.” He ordered.

Xander wiped the sweat from his brow and got in position.

“Hmmm....” Emma said as she looked at herself in the mirror.

“What are you doing?” Jean asked her.

“Well, since my telekinesis has been jump started, I've decided to experiment a little. If I can get the control just right, I'll never have to wear a bra again! No sagging, ever!” She said to the redhead with a grin.

Jean pinched the bridge of her nose.

“Another headache?” Emma asked her.

“Yes, it just started.” Jean said flatly. “You are a strange girl Emma.”

“Says the person who still doesn't own any butt pants.” Emma snorted. “We really need to get you some decent clothes.”

“My clothes are decent.” Jean said.

“Which is the problem. The closest you have to risky in your day to day wardrobe is that shirt that exposes a little bit of your midriff. You need to be more adventurous if you want to snag Summers.” She told her.

“What I do with Scott isn't any of your business.” Jean huffed.

“Aside from Xander he's the only male here close to being of age in the State of New York. Kurt's kind of cute and all but still. If you don't get Scott soon, I'm going to throw my hat into the ring.” Emma told her before adding “As for Logan... he's way too old for me. Although when Kurt and Todd get old enough... The elf has the tail and the toad has the tongue....” Emma trailed off in thought.

Jean threw a pillow at her. “Please keep those thoughts to yourself.” She said before grabbing her shower stuff.

Emma smirked. “I was.” She said aloud. “Seems the professor's little experiment benefited both of us.” She called to Jean as the girl left the room. Emma stared at her closet. “Now what to wear today? White or white?” She asked herself.

The Kitchen....

“So you're going to your nephew's basketball game?” Logan asked Ororo as they watched Xander lead the majority of the teens through a run around the mansion's grounds.

“Yes. My sister was most insistent.” Ororo said. “It'll be good to see him again. You think I could convince any of the younger ones here to come with?”

“Jean's the one most into team sports.” Logan said as he scratched his chin. “You probably couldn't get Kurt or Todd to go unless it was a niece and a girl's volleyball tournament.” He chuckled. “Kitty wouldn't go and I still can't too good a read on Emma. Anna wouldn't go, to much cheering.”

“Would you go?” Ororo asked him.

“You asking me out 'Ro?” Logan grinned.

Ororo blushed.. “No, nothing like that. It's just that... I believe Evan is like us. It's more of a feeling than anything concrete.”

“Right.” Logan said. “Sure, I've got to do some maintenance stuff on the grounds today, but after that I'm all yours.”

“I'll buy you some nachos.” Ororo told him.

“You're all heartburn sometimes.” He told her. “Come on, it's our turn to make breakfast.”

“Bacon topped with bacon again?” She asked him.

“Nah, gonna make some of my special oatmeal too.” Logan told her. “It'll stick to their ribs like nothing else.”

“This special oatmeal won't be like Xander's pot roast will it? I swear he must have slipped a sedative in that.” Ororo asked him

“No, nowhere near that bad.” Logan grinned.

“Oh man I'm gonna sneeze.” Todd said.

“Pepper eggs, good for the sinuses.” Logan told the teen.

“Ah...Ah...ackpthew!” Todd said as he sneezed. A massive glob of green mucus splattered against the far window. Everyone stared at the gooey mess as it hardened almost instantaneously.

“That's new.” Todd said with a sniff.

Everyone looked at him.

“I'll go get the Windex.” Todd said as he got up from the table.

“That was awesome!” Kurt declared while Kitty was going “Ewww!”

“Hmm...” Xavier said as he rolled over to the window. He scraped it with a knife. “I'm going to have to run some tests on this.” He said aloud. “Fascinating.”

“Huh, guess this means Todd can't do that pepper eating contest next month.” Xander said before biting into another piece of bacon.

Cordelia rolled her eyes. “If Logan puts that into group danger room sessions, I'm not going.”

“Agreed.” Jean, Emma, Anna, Kitty and Scott said together.

“Where's your sense of adventure?” Kurt scolded.

“Not up Todd's nose.” Anna said. “There's a big line between a cool power, and that.” She said while jerking a thumb at the green glob on the window.

The Basketball Game....

Logan stared at the white haired teen. The face, that look of arrogance. It had to be.

“Ororo, you know that white haired kid?” Logan asked the white haired weather witch.

“Pietro Maximoff, he and Evan have been competing against each other since they were in diapers. Why?”

Logan just shook his head. “You don't see his father in him.” He stated.

“What do you mean?” Storm asked him.

“He's Magneto's son.” Logan said. “He's not even sweating or breathing hard and he's been running up and down the court all night.”

Ororo made sure to pay more attention to the teen after that.

All was going fine until the two watched as something... sprouted out of Evan's arm as he fell.

“Bone?” Logan said half in shock. “That takes me back.”

“We should talk to him after the game.” Ororo said firmly.

“I'll go, locker room ain't no place for a lady.” Logan said.

“Logan, I haven't been a lady for....” She trailed off as she noticed his glare. “Fine.” She relented.

“So kid, I'm a friend of your aunts.” Logan said as he walked up to the teen.

“I saw you sitting with Auntie Ro. What's up man?” Evan asked.

“I saw what you did. Not bad kid. Back before my little upgrade, these used to be bone.” Logan told him before showing him his claws.

“What happened man?” Evan asked in awe.

“Not too clear on that. Things are a little fuzzy from when I got these till a while after.” Logan said. “Anyways we need to talk about your abilities.”

“I've got it under control man.” Evan said before sneezing and causing a large number of bone spikes to shoot out of his body.

“You know this is the second sneezing related incident involving powers today that I've seen.” Logan said as he tipped up his hat. “That isn't all I wanted to talk to you about. What can you tell me about your... friend Pietro? Have there been any weird happenings going on at school?”

“Well, someone has been swiping money from my wallet when it's in my locker. I've even changed my combination.” Evan told the man.

“Tell me more.” Logan said as he walked the teen out of the locker room.

Evan did.
That night at the Daniels household

“Listen kid, the power you have... it reacts without thought sometimes right?” Logan asked the teen while they were sitting out on the porch while Evan's dad was just out of earshot, cooking out on the grill.

“Yeah, I guess.” Evan said with a shrug.

“Well listen, mine still come out when I get angry. It's still a reflex and I've been around for a long time. It's a subconscious thing, just like today when your bones came out on the court. They protected you. That's not gonna go away. You take a sudden fall, get in a fight... whatever, that's gonna bring 'em out. People see 'em you're gonna be called things, maybe even be hated for being different.”

“I'll deal man.” Evan said. “Whatever comes, I'll deal.”

“Even if all of your friends turn on you for being a mutant? It's a matter of time before the world acknowledges our existence. There are more of us popping up every week it seems. The place your Aunt and I work at, we help the newer generation of mutants get a hold of their powers, teach them to use them and control them. It's a place of safety, and of acceptance. I'm not telling you that you should go, I'm just saying it'd be a real good idea.”

“I like my life just fine man. I've gotten the hang of these things.” Evan told him.

Logan growled and made as if he was going to impale the kid with his claws.

Bone spikes shot out of the arm Evan had put up to protect himself.

“You still think you got control kid? Every time you sneeze, flinch or even get spooked, something will happen. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but it will.” Logan growled. “Think about it.” He told him. “Come on, your father's finishing up.”

Even frowned as he stared at the man he looked down at his arm and saw the spikes were still raised. He tried to force them down but it didn't work. He took a deep breath and tried again. This time they went in. He followed the man called Logan back into his family's home.

“Mom, Dad? We need to talk.” He told them.

Ororo looked at Logan who tried to hide a smirk.

'And Chuck said I couldn't sell water to a man dying of thirst.' He thought. 'Wait... did I just convince another teenager to stay at Xavier's? Dammit. I'm never going to get any time off at this rate.'

Bayville High.... the next day.

“Wagner, my office after school!” Principal Darkholme yelled at the German raised student.

“But....” Kurt tried to protest.

“Don't worry. I won't keep you long Mr. Wagner. Five minutes is all I ask.” Principal Darkholme told him.

“Yes, Principal Darkholme.” Kurt said before heading towards class.

“What was that about?” Todd asked him.

“Dunno. We should call Xander at lunch. I'm going to be late coming out of school today. The mean lady wants to see me after school for some reason.” Kurt said with a shrug. He still couldn't call her a bitch. His REAL mother had taught him better.

Todd chuckled. “Still have some problems with the B word huh? I know this one song that uses it a lot.”

“Really?” Kurt asked. “Think you could teach it to me?”

“I guess we could substitute Kurt for Kyle pretty easy, so yeah. We'll do it during our Jog tomorrow.” Todd said. “Give the new kid something to smile about while he's busy exercising too early for any sane person to be up.”

“He's coming tonight isn't he?” Kurt asked. “I didn't even know Ms. Munroe had a sister.”

“Family, it's a curse sometimes. Other times, people just don't like talking about it. Believe me, I know.” Todd said.

“I get that.” Kurt said.

The bell rang.

“Crap we're tardy again!” Todd said as he slapped his forehead.

Kurt shrugged. “It happens. Come on.”

After School.....

“What did you want to see me about Ms. Darkholme.” Kurt asked the woman after he went into her office.

“Kurt... Mr. Wagner... I can understand why you dislike me. Objectively from your viewpoint it makes sense. But sometimes family.... Nevermind.” She said before reaching under her desk and pulling something out from under it.

“I want you to give this to your brother Cheshire. You don't have to tell me his real name. Those don't matter so much to us Mutants. His father Victor.... Sabertooth made this for him.”

“Sabertooth... Logan's main grudge match made Xan... Cheshire a kite?” Kurt asked disbelievingly.

Principal Darkholme shrugged. “I've known the man for decades and haven't come much closer to understanding him now then I did when I first met him. Just give this to him will you?”

“I will Ma'am. You know... if things had been different.” Kurt said as he grabbed the kite.

“We wouldn't be the people we are today. You may go now Mr. Wagner, and be careful of those tardies. I've got my eye on you.” She said sternly.

Kurt nodded. “Good day Principal Darkholme.” He told her before leaving the office via the door.

Mystique stared out the window for a few minutes. The rattling of her filing cabinets got her attention.

“Is it me, or are you going soft?” A slightly menacing voice asked.

“I'm doing my job like you wanted.” Mystique answered after closing her blinds. “What brings you here?”

“A mutant that is of particular interest to me. I want you to recruit him. However, he feels he needs... no one.” Magneto said as he showed her a hologram of Pietro Maximoff.

Mystique studied the image. “He's your son isn't he? I've got the eye for inherited traits.”

“I wish to convince him without my direct interference. He has to want to be on our side.” Magneto told her.

“How do you suggest I do that?” She asked.

“He has a long lasting grudge against Xavier's newest recruit, one Evan Daniels.” Magneto told her.

Mystique grinned. “I can work with that.” She told him.

“Dude what is that?” Todd asked Kurt as he met up with him outside of the school's offices.

“A kite. Though I don't think I've ever seen one made out of animal skin before.” Kurt said as he examined it. “She asked me to give it to Xander. Might mean something more to him than us.”

“Well, let's hop to it! I wanna know what it's all about!” Todd said with enthusiasm.

Xander looked at the kite with what one could consider a wistful air to him. “It's pretty damn disturbing that he made this out of a goat, but touching in a way.” Was all he said to his brother before driving them all back to the institute.

“What does it mean though?” Kurt asked him once everyone else had gone inside.

“It's.... a promise of sorts.” Xander said. “He may not be all bad after all. Just mostly. Come on, I want to make certain you and Todd have the new team tactics down before dinner.”

“Oh man, can't we do our homework first?” Kurt asked.

Xander blinked. “Am I really pushing you so hard that you'd rather be doing homework?”

“No, not really. It's just.... maybe a little.” Kurt told him.

“Fine, Homework than a light session okay? Training is important Kurt. It'll save yours and maybe other peoples lives one day.” Xander said softly.

“I know, believe me I do. Thanks bro.” Kurt said before vanishing in a puff of smoke.

“Ahh... the little stinker.” Xander chuckled.

“Man this place is massive!” Evan said as he first got a look at the grounds of the Xavier Institute. “Think I could do some skateboarding around here?” He asked his Aunt.

“We'd have to alter the perimeter defenses a bit first Evan. Like us, this place is much more than it seems on the outside.” Ororo told her nephew.

“Oh, all right. So are there any skate parks nearby?” Evan asked her.

“There is talk of building one, but not one currently. Although there is a ramp over at the main city park. It's quite crowded there from time to time.” Ororo told him. “This isn't New York City where one can do practically everything Evan. We are here to teach control to young mutants and to allow them a place of acceptance. Fun, while a main part of that isn't as varied as it could be. Though I'm certain we can set up the Danger Room to provide you with ample practice space from time to time.”

“What's a Danger Room?” Evan asked her.

“Wait, and you will see Evan.” Ororo said with a smile.

“Think they'll be able to teach him some patience?” Vivian Daniels asked her sister as Evan went inside the mansion.

“That... we'll have to wait and see.” Ororo said softly. “Thank you for letting me bring him here.”

“He brought it up sis.” Vivian said. “Aside from a few questionable moments of clothing destruction, I didn't even know anything was wrong. Does that make me a bad mother?”

“I don't think so. Perhaps just a normal one.” Ororo said softly. “Come on, we need to make sure he isn't skateboarding inside.”

Outside the gates....

“So do you see?” Mystique asked Pietro as they watched Evan and other unload his things from the van.

“He's staying with a whole slew of mutants, and you want me for your own team.” Pietro said.

“That is the gist of it yes. I believe that in time, I will have enough to make an effective power to counter that which Xavier has.” Mystique told him.

“Please. I'm more than powerful enough to take them all on!” Pietro bragged.

“Oh? Prove it.” Mystique told him. “If you fail, you work for me.”

“Too easy.” Pietro smirked.
2 AM, Xavier institute.

“Huh.... motion activated defensive systems.” Pietro said as he dodged a hail of what looked like paint pellets. “No problem.” He laughed before running inside the mansion only to collide with an unseen object.

Xander appeared in front of the teen. “A speedster huh?” He grinned as the teen was trying to regain his bearings. “Should be glad I'm the one covering monitor watch tonight.” He growled at him.

“Gotta go!” Pietro said before dashing off, only to collide with the tiger like man as he appeared in front of him again.

“Run fool.” Xander said as he watched the teen flee the scene. He shook his head and began walking back to the monitor alcove. “Never should have signed up for this part of the job.” He said ruefully. “May have to come up with an powdered variant of the sleep drug of Cordy's. That or get Todd and Kurt used to tripping the guy up. He face plants pretty well.”

“Anything interesting just happen?” Logan asked him as he went back to the monitor room.

“Not much, that Pietro kid is a speedster like in the comics.” Xander told him. “He ran into me a couple of times, it was enough to bruise him and scare him off. Next time, I'm just going to drop him off on another continent. That should give him plenty of time to think about crossing us again.”

“Good. Your shift is about over.” Logan told him. “Don't worry, once we set up the new DVRS, we won't have to have someone monitoring everything at night.

“Good, cause I gotta say I like sleeping, even if it is only for a little bit a night.” Xander said before rubbing the back of his neck.

“I know. This place... I swear we do so much to improve it but there's always more.” Logan said before chuckling.

“At least you're not footing the bill.” Xander told him. “I've sunk a bit into this place out of generosity more than anything else. Drop in the bucket compared to what this place will cost in the long run.”

“Chuck don't like talking about his money.” Logan snorted. “Not that you do either. Go rest up. We train in say three and a half hours.” Logan told him.

“Thanks. See you then.” Xander told him before vanishing from sight.

Logan stood there for a moment before heading into the monitor room. He looked at the no smoking sign for about ten seconds before lighting up a cigar.

Pietro slammed the door as he entered the Brotherhood house.

“Didn't go so well I take it?” Mystique asked him.

“Oh just butt out.” Pietro told her.

“I suppose I should have told you they are very good at what they do.” Mystique said with a grin.

“They? It was just one guy. I swear he must weigh a ton! I ran into him, twice! Bad part was, I was the one who got knocked over! Me!” Pietro growled. “I'll get him one day.”

“Sure you will.” Mystique said. “Until that day, you work for me now.”

“Fine.” Pietro told her. “Now, where can I crash?”

“Let me show you.” She said softly.
