I don't own the X-Men, those belong to Marvel Comics and were created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby
Emma Frost was created by Chris Claremont and John Bryne.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer was created By Joss Whedon and all the characters with the BTVS TV series are his as well.
The Thundercats were created by Ted Wolf and currently belong to Warner Brothers, at one point in time Marvel comics did do a run of the them in comics form, although DC comics do them now.
Manhattan after midnight.....
“This had better be important.” Norman Osborn growled into his phone.
“Sir, it's Bloom. The biotech division.... it's gone sir.” A timid voice said.
“What do you mean it's gone?” Norman asked in a steady tone that belied how he really felt.
“It's gone sir, there's a giant hole where it used to be.” The voice told him.
“Was there an explosion?” Osborn asked. Nothing that had been in that lab was remotely involved in something that could make the entire section vanish.
“No sir.” the voice said.
“Was there anyone in the wing when it went missing?” Osborn asked.
“Our security records show that Essex was working late.” The voice told him. “There's no response on his company cell and we can't locate it by our GPS.”
“I'll be there in ten minutes.” Norman stated before hanging up the phone. He turned on the lamp by his bedside and stood. He looked over at his wife and found she'd slept through the phone call. She'd probably sedated herself again. “Bitch” He muttered as he got dressed.
“What the hell happened?” Fury asked the bridge crew.
“We don't know sir. There was an anomalous energy reading over Oscorp for just a few seconds then the entire bio-division was gone.” One of the bridge crew told him.
“What sort of files have we got on Oscorp?” Fury asked.
“We've an extensive files on the Osborn family due to his grandfather having been investigated during the McCarthy Era sir.” The bridge member said as he sent the data to Fury's console. “From what we've been able to determine the man has a fierce drive and is a ruthless businessman much like his ancestor Amberson Osborn. He's become much more predatory in his business practices over the past decade. From what we've been able to determine it's due to some issue he has with his wife.”
“Problems at home and instead of having an affair he builds an empire.” Fury snorted. “What was the biotech division working on?”
“A multitude of things sir. One of which was a part of a defense contract on building a better soldier from the army.” The bridge member said as he pulled up the data.
“This is from Ross' crap isn't it?” Fury asked as he perused the data. “Man doesn't know when to quit.” he muttered. “Globulin green? Looks like a poor man's rebirth. Oz formula? Damn unstable mutagen. Copy the data we have and see if we can get more recent updates if we can. I want to run some of this by an outside party.”
Bayville Brotherhood house..... the next morning.....
“Pietro?” Lance called as he looked around the house. He didn't find the speedster. He checked Pietro's bedroom. As usual it looked like a tornado had torn through it, but in this case most of the clothes that were usually strewn about were missing. “Huh. He must have pulled a runner.” He snorted. “I've got to get some friends in this town.” He muttered.
“This is silly.” Tabitha snorted as she secured Kurt to the board.
“This is good training.” Kurt whispered.
“You're supposed to be unconscious Elf.” Logan called down.
“When is this supposed to be useful?” Tabitha called back up.
“You'd be surprised kid.” Logan called down. “Now quit fooling around and get him up here. You're the last for today.”
“He's no fun.” Tabitha pouted.
“Let's just do this.” Kurt whispered. “It looks like Wanda's getting impatient.”
“Now you're no fun.” Tabitha told him.
“Why can't you bother Sam?” Kurt whispered.
“Cause he's already topside.” Tabitha told him as she secured the harness.
“This is good stuff.” Forge said as he looked at the drawings. “Why hasn't Xander shown me these?”
“They're part of a... different place.” Cordelia told him. “Not to mention the power source doesn't exist here.”
“Thundrillium?” Forge asked. “You have an atomic number for that?”
Cordelia told him.
“That really doesn't occur in nature. At least not that I know of, closest I could come up with is a gamma cell.”
“That's another reason. Gamma radiation has shown to have some interesting problems lately.” Cordelia told him.
“You mean the Hulk. In controlled amounts, Gamma radiation is harmless.” Forge told her. “In higher concentrations it can have a strengthening effect on about one out of every five thousand people.”
“And in some it'll turn them into a rampaging beast.” Cordelia countered.
“From what I've read the Hulk was a freak event Cordelia.” Forge told her. “I'll work on the boards at least. Those will take the least amount of power to run. Still....” He trailed off in thought.
“What?” Cordelia asked.
“This tank looks like it'd be fun to drive.” Forge grinned.
Lunch time later that week....
“Man, I can't believe the schools doing a carnival as a fund raiser.” Kurt said as he set his tray down at their usual lunch table. “This is going to be great. I love carnival games.”
“Fond memories?” Wanda asked him.
“Of course. Life on the road was fun with the circus. It was the first place I really fit in.” Kurt told her.
“Hhmmm.”” Wanda smiled. “What about now?”
“Well of course I fit in now.” Kurt told her. “You guys are my family.”
Unseen by most, Tabitha rolled her eyes and got up from the table.
Emma frowned. What Tabitha had been broadcasting was unusually down for her. She squeezed Fred's hand before getting up to go ask the girl what was wrong.
“So what's been bothering you?” Emma asked her.
“My dad found me.” Tabitha told her. “He wants me to help him again.”
“You don't have to.” Emma told her. “We can help you. I can make him forget where you are and if we ask Xander, he'll drop him off somewhere else.”
“You'll do that?” Tabitha asked.
“We're your friends Tabby.” Emma told her. “We'll help you whether you want it or not.”
“Bitch.” Tabitha sniffed.
“I learned from some of the best.” Emma told her.
“Cordelia?” Tabitha asked.
“Got it in one.” Emma grinned.
Los Angeles.... the night of the school carnival.
“What the hell?” Martin Smith asked as he looked around. “Where am I? I was doing something...” He muttered as he walked down the street.
Back at the Carnival....
“Thanks.” Tabitha told Emma.
“It's not a problem. Your father... Just be glad he's gone for now Tabby.” Emma told her. “He isn't a nice guy.”
“I know. Thank you.” Tabitha said softly.
“Come on, I'll buy you a funnel cake.” Emma told her.
“Great.” Tabitha grinned.
Xavier's place, the backyard...
“So what did you guys bring me out here for?” Xander asked his wife and her sister.
“Field testing.” Forge said as he walked up, carrying something that looked incredibly familiar to Xander.
“You built a hover board?” Xander asked with a grin. After a moment's thought he frowned. “What's the power source?”
“Gamma cell. Very shielded one too.” Forge told him. “I need someone that can survive the falls to test it.”
“Which is where I come in.” Xander nodded. “Right. I'm probably going to be really rusty on this.” He said as he turned the board on.
He tentatively stood on it and began drifting around the grounds. “This isn't so bad.” He said as he increased the speed. “Whoo!” He called as he coasted around.
“I think he likes it.” Forge grinned. “Think he'll let me build the tank?”
Anna and Cordelia laughed as Xander coasted over some treetops. “I don't think that'll be a problem.” Cordelia told him.
“Shouldn't we be in school like the others?” Alex asked Lorna as they sat in the library.
“We're taking the GED program remember? Besides, Bayville High seems like a place I wouldn't exactly fit in.” She said as she pointed out her green hair that had been growing in since the Summer began. “It'd be weird anyways. Last time I was in a school I sneezed and all the lockers opened.”
“Good point.” Alex agreed. “Still, my folks wouldn't mind me going to college.” Alex said.
“I know a school that takes GED degrees in Arizona, but it's kind of a party school.” Lorna told him.
“Go when we're older?” Alex offered.
“Deal.” Lorna nodded. “Until then, what about your surfing?”
“Well, in the long run I like surfing for surfing's sake. Competing seems kind of wrong when every wave is different.” Alex told her. “I've given a lot of thought and while I love it, it isn't everything.”
“That's great to hear Alex.” Lorna smiled. “Now let's go see what everyone else is up to.”
“Should be fun.” Alex said as he helped Lorna stand up.
A fast moving shadow crossed the light coming in through the windows of the room. “Let's go see what that is.” Lorna said before heading towards the exit.
The Front Yard....
“I think I just found something better than surfing.” Alex said as the two teens joined the others in watching Xander coast around the yard on his hover board.
“Man, that looks like it'd be awesome.” Bobby said as he watched Xander go.
“Can't you already do the ice sliding thing?” Kitty asked him.
“Yeah, but still, it'd be really fun to do that too.” Bobby said in his defense.
“I'd probably end up getting nervous and phasing through the board enough to short it out.” Kitty sighed.
“Can I try it?” Alex asked Forge who was fiddling with a second board.
“Sure.” Forge said as he turned on the board. “I've got it set right now for three feet above ground.”
“How high does it go?” Alex asked.
“Xander's is unlimited but the main model will be ten feet. Not many people can survive a fall higher than that.” Forge told him. “These things aren't exactly safe past that.”
“Right.” Alex said with a not. “No tether or anything?”
“No, the board shuts off when no one's standing on it for longer than ten seconds.” Forge said.
“Cool.” Alex said as he got on the board.
“What happened?” Alex said as he woke up.
“Somebody didn't wear a helmet.” Lorna told him.
“Oh, umm... oops?” Alex said softly as he rubbed his head. “How bad am I?”
“Mild concussion.” Cordelia told him. “We need to keep an eye on you for the next twenty four hours.”
“Great.” Alex sighed. “Sorry about that.”
“It was your first time out on the board.” Cordelia told him. “Even experienced users can fall now and again.”
“So Xander fell too?” Alex asked.
“No, he didn't.” Lorna told him.
“Crap.” Alex muttered.
Xavier's study.... one morning....
“Are you certain?” Xavier asked into the phone. “I'll be there as soon as I can.”
“What's up?” Sean asked Xavier as the man stormed out of his office.
“My brother Cain. The systems that keep him contained are failing. I need to be there to keep him contained while they fix whatever is wrong.” Xavier told him. “Storm's in Africa and Logan's out on the road again. I need you and Moira to watch the house.”
“That's an awful lot of trust you're placing in me Charles.” Sean told him.
“I trust you to keep them in check. Besides, you're a good yeller.” Charles grinned. “I've got to go.”
“Be safe Charles.” Sean said.
“I'll do my best.” Charles nodded.
Before School that day.....
“I say we party!” Todd said as everyone heard the news.
“You want to party when there's a chance the Juggernaut could escape again?” Scott asked him.
“When you put it like that it makes it sound like a bad idea.” Todd pouted.
“It is a bad idea!” Scott half yelled. “We can grill out on the lawn or something but we don't involve people from school. We don't need people here nosing around where they shouldn't be.”
“What, don't you trust the security? We've worked really hard on it.” Kitty asked him.
“Every system has its flaws.” Scott said after taking a few deep breaths. “Problem is, sometimes they can't be seen by the designers until after they've been taken advantage of.”
“You've been watching MacGyver episodes again haven't you?” Kurt asked.
“What I do in my free time is my business Kurt.” Scott gritted out.
“That's a yes.” Fred said to Kurt.
“Thought so. So no party.” Kurt mused. “What kind of cookout are you thinking about?”
“Firepit?” Fred asked the other resident chef.
“Pig roast sounds good. Buffalo burgers?” Kurt countered.
“We could swing it.” Fred nodded. “Gonna need a lot of soda though.”
“Like, I'll make the potato salad.” Kitty offered.
“That's okay.” Fred and Kurt said in unison.
“I'll make the potato salad.” Wanda offered, which caused both Kurt and Fred among others to sigh in relief.
“I really need to learn how to cook.” Kitty sighed.
“Yes, yes you do.” Todd nodded. “Though your muffins bounce almost as good as a super ball does.”
“So can I bring my friend Risty to this little shindig?” Anna asked Cordelia.
“No outsiders.” Cordelia told her. “You know the rules. If you really want her to come, she'd have to be scanned by a telepath beforehand. With Mystique out there we can't afford to compromise on security.”
Anna nodded. “All right. I won't tell her about it then.”
“So what do you know about this girl anyways?” Cordelia asked her.
“Not much actually.” Anna told her. “She's new this semester and was looking for a friend.”
“Hmm..... We'd have to check her out Anna. We've got too many people coming in and out as it is.” Cordelia said.
“It was worth a shot.” Anna sighed.
Norman Osborn sighed as he accessed the latest back up of the data that had been lost in the disappearance of the Bio-Tech division. He stared at the Oz formula. “I'm going to need to make certain that my competitors don't have the chance to take advantage of the loss of the division.” He said to himself. He brought up the information on Globulin Green. “It's a start.” He mused before bringing up various weapons projects that had been mothballed for one reason or another. “Hmmm.....”
