I don't own the X-Men, those belong to Marvel Comics and were created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby
Emma Frost was created by Chris Claremont and John Bryne.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer was created By Joss Whedon and all the characters with the BTVS TV series are his as well.
The Thundercats were created by Ted Wolf and currently belong to Warner Brothers, at one point in time Marvel comics did do a run of the them in comics form, although DC comics do them now.
“This is crazy.” Hank McCoy said as he and Ororo stood in line.
“No it's not.” Ororo smiled. “Besides, it's been a long time since I've been to one of these places.”
“But they won't have any shoes in my size.” Hank grumbled.
“Xander solved that problem for you.” Ororo said as she withdrew a pair of large sandals/bowling shoes out of her bowling bag. “He told me he's got a line on a creative shoe maker out in California. JJ apparently doesn't ask too many questions.”
“Hmm... I suppose that means I'll have to get him something for Christmas then won't I?” Hank mused.
“That would be an appropriate thing to do.” Ororo agreed. “Thanks for getting me out of the house.”
“Not a problem dear lady. It's not often I'm in the company of such beauty anyways.” Hank grinned.
“Flatterer.” She snorted.
“I try.” Hank agreed.
Elsewhere in the bowling alley....
“So why are we spying on Ms. Munroe and Mr. McCoy?” Rahne asked her roommate.
“Because it's fun.” Theresa said as she snagged a French fry from her roommates' plate. “Besides, Emma and Jean are expecting a full report. It's also good training for surveillance that Logan wants us to do.”
“Gossip queen.” Rahne snorted.
“Just because I can hear all the small talk. I can't ignore it all the time. Besides, it's poetic in a way. Kind of like that old Ron Perlman TV show.” Theresa sighed.
“You're a strange girl.” Rahne said.
“Like you're one to talk..... Lassie.” Theresa grinned.
“Shrieking Harpy.” Rahne muttered.
“I heard that.” Theresa said, sticking her tongue out at her best friend.
After the all the pins were counted....
“My dear lady, I do believe we're being followed.” Hank said to Ororo.
“That's true, we are.” Ororo grinned. “They're mostly harmless.”
“Obviously you aren't aware of just how dangerous school girls can be.” Hank said with an affronted air.
“Fine, I won't overestimate them.” Ororo said with a laugh.
Ten paces behind the older mutants...
“I think we're being followed.” Rahne said to Theresa.
“You'd be right.” Theresa said. “I can't recognize the language though. What's a Houngan anyways?”
“Maybe we should ask when we get back to the mansion. It sounds strange.” Rahne said.
“Sounds like a good idea.” Theresa agreed.
Back at the mansion.....
“You two did pretty well tonight. We spotted you about an hour into the game.” Ororo told the two.
“Ms. Munroe, what's a Houngan?” Theresa asked the older woman.
Ororo paled. “Where did you hear that name?”
“From the people that were following us.” Theresa said. “They pulled back just before we got to the parking lot.”
“Who is this Houngan?” Hank asked.
“He's a shaman. He was... someone I knew back in Africa. We need to increase the security level.” Ororo said after collecting her thoughts. “If he's here, he's here for me.”
“Why?” Hank asked her.
“Revenge.” Ororo stated.
“That sounds like there's quite a story there.” Hank mused.
“Well, it really began after my powers awakened....” Ororo began...
On the grounds.... 3 AM
“AIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!” came the shout as Sean used his sonic scream to incapacitate the trespassers. All of the men fell to the ground unconscious.
Logan came running out to the balcony and surveyed the damage. “Glad that scream of yours can be focused bub.”
“Can I go to bed now?” Sean asked. “I'm getting too old for sudden calls for night watch.”
“Fine. Let's just restrain these kind folks before you do that.” Logan agreed.
“You're all heart Logan.” Sean sighed as they headed downstairs.
The Kitchen, 6 AM.
Ororo sighed as she made her way into the kitchen.
“He really didn't like you did he?” Hank asked her.
“I didn't anticipate this level of hatred Hank. He wanted to steal my power and make it his own. He is a truly despicable man.
“Where did Xander drop them off?” Hank asked.
“He left them in Scotland.” Ororo grinned. “That'll teach them to sneak into the country. I think a little trip from the highlands is just what the witch doctor ordered.”
“That was terrible.” Hank told her.
“I'm not the best when it comes to humor.” Ororo told him.
“Well you could always start at the beginning.” Hank told her. “I believe his name was Charlie, Charlie Chaplin.”
Cedar Grove Cemetery, New York City...
Peter stood beside his girlfriend as they lowered her mother into the ground. Things had been tense around the Watson and Parker household as the revelations of just how bad off Mary Jane's home life had been before she'd finally moved to Anna's.
As it stood Philip Watson was staring at Peter with hatred in his eyes. It was something that neither teen were comfortable with. Mary Jane's father was really creeping them out.
The two stood with Anna and May and left with them. Both teens felt their spider sense tingle slightly as they left the cemetery. Mr. Watson didn't wish them well.
“I've been meaning to tell you that we've been invited to a Halloween party.” Peter told his girlfriend as they headed into the city.
“What should we dress as?” Mary Jane asked him.
“Well I'm partial to Tarzan and Jane, but that's because I like you in leopard print.” Peter grinned.
“I'll think about it.” Mary Jane told him. “You'd look pretty good in one of those jungle outfits yourself Tiger.”
“I suppose.” Peter grinned. “Still, we could use some fun couldn't we?”
“Especially after today. My Dad's starting to scare me.” Mary Jane sighed.
“You're not the only one. He was giving me the evil eye the whole time.” Peter said softly.
“He can't hurt us Peter, if he tries, we'll know it's coming.” Mary Jane whispered. “We'll get through this.”
“We will.” Peter agreed.
“What are you doing?” Wanda asked her boyfriend.
“Whittling.” Kurt told her as
“While whistling.” Todd added from his perch. He was busy reading an obscenely tall technical manual. “He's getting pretty good at it too.” Todd mentioned.
Wanda stared at the item in her boyfriend's hands. “This is good?” She asked.
“I meant the whistling.” Todd told her before dodging a hex bolt. “Easy..” Todd said as he settled back down.
“What are you making?” Wanda asked him.
“It's a stake with custom grip for me.” Kurt told her. “Since Halloween's coming up, Xander and Cordelia are going to be going over the basics of demonology and the supernatural for the whole group.”
“He's not going to be teaching any of them magic is he?” She asked warily.
“No. That's more your department, though apparently most of the new group are sensitives.” Kurt said as he looked up. “I can't even sense magic like they can.”
“Nothing wrong with being a null sweetie.” Wanda told him. “That just means you'll be less effected by spells in general. That can be a good thing.”
“So you say.” Kurt sighed.
The Main media room....
“What are you watching?” Forge asked Xander as he sat down next to him.
“Mike and the bots.” Xander said. “One of the best shows ever.”
After a few minutes of watching the show, Forge had come up with his own conclusion. “Dear god, this is torture.”
“That's sort of the point.” Xander told him. “The robots and Mike act as the filter to make the film tolerable.”
“Oh.” Forge said. “This is pretty funny then.”
“Hence the watching.” Xander agreed. “Where are our women?”
“Horseback riding.” Forge sighed. “So, how long has this show been on?”
“A few years. It's last season was over last year, but they're still running it.” Xander told him.
“Huh, cool.” Forge said. “I'm going to go get some popcorn.”
“I'll get it, I've seen this one.” Xander said before vanishing.
“That poor man.” Forge sighed as he realized the depths of torture the man had gone through in the making of the show. “This movie is awful.”
With the girls...
“So what's married life like compared to cohabitation?” Emma asked Cordelia.
“Well we're more equal in most things now. Xander isn't the only one who takes the sheets to get cleaned these days, even though he can do it much faster than I can.” Cordelia said. “I'm just glad we've got a decent laundry in Bayville.”
“He do anything different now that you're married?” Jean asked.
“Well, he has been kind enough stick around until I wake up some mornings.” Cordelia said. “With his need for less sleep than me, cuddling in the morning hasn't always been a priority.”
“How much sleep does he get anyways?” Kitty asked.
“A few hours a night. Sometimes three, sometimes four hours a night.” Cordelia told her. “Well that and the afternoon catnap.”
“The sunny spots.” Anna nodded. “He's got a few in the house.”
“They shift when the seasons change.” Cordelia told them. “He's finding new spots now that fall's coming.”
“The worst thing about this is, I don't find this weird at all.” Theresa sighed.
“Didn't your uncle have a thing with plants?” Rahne asked her.
“He used a Shillelagh for the most part.” Theresa said. “Though he's been working on something... else.”
“Like what?” Cordelia asked.
“He's been trying to implant himself with pieces of wood, but he's been getting infections.” Theresa told her. “He was getting close before I left though.”
“So he'd have a power a lot like Alex's?” Anna asked.
“Close. It's got a different feeling to it.” Theresa said. “My powers canceled his out, but they don't with Alex's. That might be because of the relation thing though. He went on and on about how he couldn't fight my dad because of the powers canceling out.”
“Let's head back.” Cordelia said. “I've got to pick up our laundry from the cleaners on the way.”
“Your turn on the laundry duty?” Anna teased.
“Yep.” Cordelia nodded.
“What do you mean the sheets aren't here?” Cordelia half shouted.
“I'm sorry Ma'am but they aren't.” The clerk told her. “I can check again.”
Cordelia pinched the bridge of her nose. “Never mind. The rest of the laundry is here right?”
“Yes it is.” The clerk told her. “I'm really sorry about this Ma'am. We don't usually have things go missing like that.”
“This has happened before?” Cordelia asked.
“We've lost a few items recently but not much. We're looking into it.” The clerk told her.
“Right.” Cordelia sighed. “Just ring me up.”
“Yes Ma'am.” The clerk said as he moved to the register.
“Did you get the samples?” A harsh voice said.
Pietro wordlessly handed the man a set of sheets.
“That's right. You don't say much do you?” The man grinned. “It's better that way I suppose.”
“Just get to work Essex.” A voice in the darkness said.
“Of course Mesmero.” Nathaniel Essex said as he headed over to his equipment. “You know I should thank you for your assistance. This will shave years off of my work.”
“All of this is for the benefit of our lord.” Mesmero stated flatly. “Get to work.”
“All hail Apocalypse.” Essex said softly as he collected the needed DNA samples. “With this I could incorporate the others.” He whispered. “The power of evolution in my hands.”
