A\N: You can thank my son for this one. HE set the plot tribble lose in my head and now I can’t get rid of it. To make matters worse, it’s multiplying! *shudders* He got into my comic collection and found one of my favorite series and asked me why no one had done a crossover with it. He thought it would be a great story and that started the wheels turning. Here is the result. I don’t own Buffy or Marvel comics.
It was calm in the library as Buffy and Willow entered. Immediately, they could tell that something was different about the atmosphere of the place. Something was missing. “Giles?” Buffy said in a questioning tone. “What gives? The place seems … brighter, somehow.”
Giles removed his glasses and began cleaning them. “Something extraordinary has occurred, Buffy.” He replaced his glasses. “Sometime during last evenings Halloween activities, the Hellmouth was sealed.”
“Not sealed, G-man.” Xander’s voice interrupted from the stacks. At least, it sounded like Xander’s voice. It had a flat, mechanical sound to it though. A tall, gleaming silver figure stepped from the shadows. “Neutralized.”
The three looked at this new presence in shock, taking in the silver robotic body and glowing red eyes that peered out of a visor like slit in the head. “Good Lord!” Giles whispered hoarsely. The girls recognized the form from the previous night. Their best friend had dressed as it because of the great deal he had gotten from Ethan Rayne.
“Rom?” Willow whispered, remembering the series that she, Xander, and Jesse had collected as children.
“No, Wills. It’s me.” The mechanical voice that sounded like their best male friend sounded tired. “Just call me Alexander: Spaceknight.” That said, the tall metallic form abruptly sat down, buried his face in his hands, and sobbed.
A\N: So, who remembers this one? This will be a one-shot for now unless I get requests to do more. The tribbles are still there, but are momentarily appeased by this. Like it? Hate it? Let me know.
A\N2: Wow! There has been so much response, (Besides the fact that my tribbles won't leave me alone!) that I will go ahead and continue this story. Thanks for all the reviews.
