DSCLMR: I still don't own anything.
The demon lunged at Illyria and she flipped it over her head, sending it flying. The demon hit the ground hard, but regained its footing.
It charged at them and Spike caught it and snapped its neck. “Feisty little thing.” He dropped it to the ground.
Illyria and Spike began to exit the alley. “Where to now?” Spike asked her.
“I wish to—“ She stopped abruptly.
A light shown brightly on them and Illyria quickly shifted her appearance to that of Fred.
A soldier stepped forward and Illyria instinctively stepped in front of Spike.
“Are you OK miss?” He asked eyeing Spike suspiciously.
“Yep, were super duper.” She said in a Texan accent. “We were just out for a walk.” She tried.
“You know it’s extremely dangerous to be out at night.” He told her.
She gave him a shy smile. “It’s OK, my William will protect me.”
Another soldier stepped forward, he was holding a device of some sort. “Sir,” He called. “He’s an HST.”
Both soldiers drew there weapons and more stepped out of the vehicle.
Illyria shifted back to her blue form and prepared to strike.
“Hold it.” Said a voice from the shadows. The owner of the voice stepped forward and Spike immediately recognized him.
“Riley Finn.” Spike said. A slight grin came across his face, despite their deadly predicament. “It’s been a while.”
“You know this human?” Illyria asked.
“Yeah, we go way back.” Spike told her.
“So I do not get to snap his spine.” Illyria said. She sounded a bit sad.
“I didn’t say that.”
At that a wicked scary smile came across Illyria’s face. Two of the soldiers backed up.
“I always knew you were an evil, soulless thing.” Riley said raising his weapon.
Illyria turned to Spike. “He does not know that you have a soul now?” She asked.
Riley looked a little shocked. “You… you have a soul?”
“Yeah.” Spike said. “Got it about two years ago.” He told him.
Riley did not lower his weapon. “If you have a soul then what are you doing here?” he asked.
“We are helping the helpless.” Illyria said promptly.
“Who is she?” Riley said pointing his weapon at Illyria.
“Tell him Blue.”
“I am Illyria.” She said full of self-importance. “God King of the Primordium. Shaper of things.”
Spike chuckled. “What no ‘vermin’ speech?”
Riley eyed her. “What is she?” He asked Spike.
“She is a God, an old one.” Spike told him. “She could rip your spine out and wear it as a necklace, then paint the walls with your… what is it? Blood or guts?”
Illyria cocked her head to the side. “Both are adequate.”
