Holiday Shenanigans

Giles scrubbed a hand over his face and wondered why he endured this. Giles was proudly British, thank you, and had little interest in putting up with holiday shenanigans. Yet, here he was, surrounded by his loved ones on this, the most hallowed turkey day. God only knew that, in the past, that was always a recipe for disaster.

Though, honestly, the most shenanigany thing happening at the moment was Buffy working herself into a lather about the consistency of the pumpkin pie. Everyone else had taken themselves off to make out and escape Buffy’s rabid holiday cheer.

“They realize we’re British, don’t they?” Snape asked, sneer turned down to acceptable levels.

Giles sighed. Of course. How had he forgotten their guests’ chaperon?

He eyed him for a moment, then shrugged and said, “Dinner will be a bit. Scotch in my office?”

By the gleam in Snape’s eye, he heard the invitation for more than just Scotch.
