A/N: Just an outtake that occurred to me while I was watching a CSI re-run and working on "Sam's Girls".

Dawn felt a little guilty when she got the furious text message from Greg. Changing the ringtones on his cell had been a joke. Calling him to draw his attention to the prank had seemed harmless at the time. Unfortunately, her timing was bad- really bad. Not that she could have known. She hadn’t meant to make Greg look bad in front of everyone on a day he, Nick, and Sara were all in trouble over Nick’s car getting stolen with tons of evidence packed in it. She texted back as quickly as her fingers could hit the buttons.

---
SORRY!!! It’s not like I’m an actual booty call, though.

---

Yeah, it’s not like I can tell anyone in the lab that, is it? Your sister would kill me for having a ringtone like that set for you!

---

Who, Cath? She’d be more likely to kill me.

---

Your logic is unfollowable. Why would she kill you when I’m the one who looks like a cradle robber?

---

Oh, please. You want to talk cradle robbing, ask Buffy about her exes sometime. Stand at a safe distance when you do.

---

No thank you. This day is bad enough already without either of your sisters gunning for me.

---

Chicken.

---

Not even. And don’t change the subject. Why would you be the one in trouble?

---

Cath knows the way my devious mind works. It won’t take her long to guess who screwed with your phone. Are you really in trouble?

---

Over the phone? No. I just looked bad in front of Grissom. Over the missing evidence…Nick’s in more trouble, but we’re all on the hook.

---

Grissom probably just gave you a Look and forgot about it as soon as he was out of the room. How is Nick’s car getting jacked your fault? I mean, stealing = illegal.

---

Well, yeah, but YOU try telling the undersheriff that.

---

Tell me where he is and I will.

---

NO. I WAS JOKING.

---

So was I. Mostly. Lighten up. All that tension is bad for you.

---

Greg was in the process of coming up with a retort when Catherine grabbed the phone from his hand. She looked at it and rolled her eyes.

“I should have known. Flirt with my baby sister on your own time, Greggo. We’re working right now.”

“I’m not flirting!” Greg protested.

“Uh-huh. Keep it up and I’ll have Buffy threaten you.”

Greg banged his head gently against the wall. He was going to come up with a prank to get back at Dawn if it was the last thing he did. Maybe he should tell Catherine what ringtone Dawn had set for her...
