Thus the hunters of the night became the hunted

He spent the entire night with his sister yesterday. Today he needed to speak with Willow. He scribbled a note for Dawn and left.

He waited outside her house. He couldn’t be sure if her parents were in or not.

There she was. Her hair was longer than he remembered. Was she really that pretty? Two years away changes your perception of people. Oh well now or never.

He came up behind her, “Hi Will, missed me?”

She spun round, her eyes bulged, she fainted. *Oh crap I killed her.* He carried her somewhere off the sidewalk.

*How to wake her? Hmm... Perfect.* He lent down and whispered into her ear, “Willow you gotta wake up the tadpoles are coming.”

Nothing, no reaction. *O.K. time for the big guns.* He started to make frog noises.

“AAAHHHHHHHHH! Xander don’t do that!” She swatted his arm then her brain booted up and realized what was happening. “Oh my god Xander you’re back! When did you get back? Have you seen anyone else? Oh oh oh we got to tell everyone!”

“In order Yes I’m back, yesterday, Dawn, hell no we are not telling anyone else. I’ve been missing for five months, don’t look at me like that Willow Dawn filled me in, so five months no one has seen me if I just show up then even in Sunnydale that is weird. Soooo I need your help I need a cover story. Will you help me? Will ya, Willster?”

“Gah not the puppy dog eyes, stop I’ll help I’ll help.”

They bounced ideas for cover stories of each other. Poked holes in each others ideas. He showed her what he had brought back with him. Willow geeked out at all the sci-fi tech. She left so he could meet with Dawn. But only after he promised he would let her have a look at all the tech another time.

They went to the arcade, They shot zombies and raced cars. Had hotdogs and just goofed around. He walked her home. Before they parted he gave her a belated birthday present, a necklace with a pendant. He bought it while she was in school that day. She squealed in excitement and said “it’s the bestest present ever”. She was upset that they couldn’t meet the next day though.

It was a massacre, thirty seven demons destroyed. The few survivors told of a holy warrior with a flaming sword of light. Richard Wilkins III and his vampires looked at the slaughter. He was amused that someone had done his work for him. There was a new player in town and he had no idea what or who it was.

“By golly this level of carnage is refreshing. Someone after my own heart, what do you think Alan?”

Willow was there with flowcharts diagrams and other stuff. Plans were made. He needed to get back home soon. He wanted to eat mums pasta.

It was a massacre, an entire tribe of apocalypse demons destroyed. Professor Walsh ordered her men to retrieve samples. It was the first remains of HST’s they had come across. She was excited at the thought of what she could learn.

“These are our first samples of HST’s take all precautions to avoid contamination and bring them to lab two.”

His parents were out. So he called Willow over to his house. Plans were finalized Willow the hacking goddess was in full force on the hospital records.

The demon bars were hit the clientele wiped out. The word on the street was this new hunter was after everyone. They did not know what he called him self, so they named him “Death”.

“Maybe I should go to Cleveland I hear it’s much safer over there.” Willy mused as he surveyed the destruction of his clientele and bar.

“Giles! Some one is killing demons in my town. I want them to stop!”

“Wh, why on earth would you want them to stop? Surly this is a good thing?”

“Everyone is more scared of him than me. They said he is the angel of death with a flaming sword. Why don’t I have a flaming sword?”

“Oh lord. Call everyone in for a research party. We may need to find out what we are dealing with.”

“And the sword?”

“You get a flaming sword when you learn how to make one.”

“Not fair.” She pouted.

He almost sniggered at her behavior, “I have yet had a chance to sit down, a possible Angel of bloody Death walking the streets, I hate Monday mornings. Being a fighter pilot would have been less stressful.”

“There is going to be bloodiness?” she asked. He just glared at her.

He was shocked that there was a new slayer in town just arrived a few hours ago at the Bronze. Coincidences like that don’t happen on the Hellmouth the timing was too perfect. Just as he was going to make his own appearance.

They sneaked him into a hospital. Willow unhid the hacked records he was to be an accident victim who had yet to wake up. She falsified the charts. The medical bills were settled by a fictional charity fund. He had no ID when he was brought in. Sunnydale syndrome took care of the rest.

Dawn was filling in Cordelia they needed her to act perfectly to pull this off.

He pretended to wake and called for the nurse, the nurses bustled around him the doctors called in a miraculous recovery his family was called. When they arrived his little sister latched onto him. The nurses all thought it was a touching reunion. That was until his girlfriend came in... That was pure romance for the over stresses overworked nurses. No one thought it was an act.

Principle Snyder received a phone call.
“Doctor Smith what can I do for you?”
“One of my students?”
“I see. Put him on.”
“Harris, if you wish to return to this school you will need to make up all the assignments you have missed for the last two weeks now put Doctor Smith back on.”
“Yes, I understand.”
“Yes goodbye.”

Snyder had a headache forming, he had thought the older half of the bane of his existence had gone for good. But no, now he turns up in a hospital, he wanted to cry.
