They laid him to rest on a grey, rainy Saturday morning, Gunn and Lorne to one side, Wesley and Cordelia to the other, and Angel’s ashes sprinkled in with his grave dirt. The priest consecrated the ground and Faith and Dawn, again themselves with a little of Willow’s help, were the only other ones to say anything. They just said Thank You and it was enough. Fred cried inconsolably, unable to say anything. Being herself again was maybe not such a great thing for her. His tombstone was simple and appropriate. Connor Angel. A son. A friend. A hero above all else.
