"Are you sure this spell will work how I want it to?" she asked urgently.

"The spell is in perfect order. Just be sure there are no demons in your vicinity when you cast it."

She nodded and hung up the phone. This had to go properly, even a minuscule slip could be disastrous.

Drawing the symbol on the floor in chalk, she sat in the centre.

She lit the candles and burnt the herbs, reciting the incantation.

Her vision blurred and she continued her recitation. Her throat burned and she went on. Not the feel of skin ablaze stopped her.

And as she finished the incantation, she heard a knock on the door and the way Lorne never finished the word 'knock'.
