Chapter four

Okay, a little bit slipping away from the main story, to see what happened to Willow when she was inserted into this universe.

Willow Rosenburg had always been a good little girl. She did what her Mommy told her, never questioned why Daddy wasn’t around, and never, ever listened to anything about mutants. Which was why she was so scared when her powers activated.

It was a bright day in the park, and she had just made friends with a boy. The boy had magical powers, and could change shape. But her Mommy saw, and dragged her away from the boy calling him lots of names that Willow wasn’t allowed to repeat.

A few months later, a bad man showed up at the house looking for her Mommy. They shouted at each other for a long time, and when he finally went away, Willow’s Mommy cried for hours. Willow was 8 years old at the time, but she never forgave the man.

By the time she was 12, Willow had another friend who was magic. He could move things with his mind, and the more time Willow spent with him, she realized that she could copy what he did, but she had to be careful not to use up all the power, otherwise she had to wait until she saw him again. Then one day, he didn’t show up to school. Everyone said that he was a dirty mutant, and had been taken to a special school where they lock up mutants.

Willow cried for hours too, and she was reminded of her Mom. When she went home that day, she asked her Mom about mutants. Her Mom got a very dark and dangerous look in her eyes. She told Willow to never talk about these things again, and sent her to her room without supper.

The next day, the bad man came to the house again. He said he wanted to see his child, but Willow’s Mom told him that Willow wasn’t his child. Willow was very shocked to find out that this man was her Father. She didn’t want to believe it, and used her old friend’s power to throw the man out of the house.

Then her Mom threw her out.

From that day on, she went with the man who said he was her Dad, to a place where a lot of powerful people lived. She never used any of the powers that she got there, after she realized she couldn’t use the boy’s power again for a couple of days.

One day, she tried to test herself, and tried to absorb a lot of the people’s powers at once. She wanted to see if that affected the way she absorbed them, or if she would get stronger.

The next thing she remembered was waking up in the med lab, with Grandfather Eric and her Dad looking over her frowning.

She never tried that again, and that night she saw the boy who lived in the room across from her being taken outside. She never heard of the small telekinetic again, but she could finally control her telekinesis, without having to recharge.

But, whenever she used it, she had a weird image of her floating above the boy’s bed, sucking the energy out of him with her hands. Her face was all vein-y and her hair was black. Her Dad told her it was nothing important, and then changed the subject

And Willow never brought it up again.

Because she was a good girl.

I know it's often done, but it's so easy to see Willow as Magneo's grandddaughter.
