Xander sat quietly staring into the distance, watching the sunset over the water. After his turning Xander had decided that they should continue to travel and establish treaties. Dru had thrown a fit and demanded that they rest.
Xander had just laughed and had eventually gotten her to agree to travel on. That was how they had ended up in Washington D.C. waiting for the head of the Leopard Clan to come and meet them. Tony Dinozzo was the Omega of the clan and had agreed to meet with them. Cat shifters were rare and had an uneasy alliance with the old council.
Giles hoped to change that by returning the Chronciles of Susan the Gentle, their ancient queen, to her Great-grandson Tony.
Xander turned from looking at the reflection pool and faced Tony Dinozzo and an older, harder man, with silver hair. Xander walked over to Dinozzo and handed him the box holding the chronicles. "The New Council apologizes for all of your losses and for the theft of your families heirlooms." Xander said calmly. "We hope that you see the return of these items as a sign of peace between our groups and thatif you ever need us you will call on us no strings attached."
Dinozzo accepted the box and handed it over to the silver haired man. "Thank you, we would appreciate that and take the heirlooms return as a sign of peace between us." Tony said calmly.
"Great, does that mean we can got get a beer now?" A bored voice asked from behind them. Xander rolled his eyes and turned to look at his 'bodyguards', Methos, Duncan, Spike, Faith, and Dru all smirked at him.
"Right beer for the ancient alcoholic and food for the rest of us." Faith drawled, Xander surprised them by laughing gaily at Faith. Who grinned widely at him.
Faith's joining them had brought on a change in Xander. His attitude had changed as he was relaxing for lack of a better word. His eyes shown with life and the pair had fun together.
Dru had accepted Faith immediately into their little family and called Faith her Sweet Death. Despite the original thoughts of the men in the group, Faith and Xander acted more as brother and sister to one another than potential lovers. In fact Xander kept pushing her at Methos.
"Sounds good, I decimate a cheeseburger." Xander said lightly, turning back to face Tony and the other man. They were grinning at him.
"Thanks, maybe we'll see you around." Tony said with a nod and walked away with the other man, who nodded to them. He and Xander watched one another for a long time and Xander felt a tingle in his belly. He had a feeling he would be seeing those two again.
The End for Now
