Planning a Trip
A brief addition involving something that just flowed out of me. Don't ask me why I skipped the whole meeting the two groups scene, maybe somebody else will be interested in following up on this fully? Who know.
Buffy stared up in total stunned silence, Giles’s niece had just showed up out of the blue. That wasn’t the crazy part, not even the fact that, she was apparently from some community of wand waving wizards, no, the craziest part of it happened to be the airship floating in the sky.
Xander approached her from her left. “Kind of something else huh, Buff?” he asked with a smirk.
Buffy glowered at him. “If you’re here to mock me.”
Xander held up his hands defensively. “Hey, don’t get me wrong, I’m kind of feeling the wow factor. But that doesn’t mean I’m trying to make fun of you.”
The dark haired guy with the lightning shaped scar approached them both. “I know how you feel,” he said, “I felt overwhelmed too when I first saw it.”
“You’re Harry,” Buffy said. The boy nodded, Buffy shifted her weight slightly. “If Giles has to go with you, then I’m coming to.”
Xander blinked. “Hey, hold on, Buffy, have you forgotten we have kind of a situation here ourselves?”
Buffy shook her head. “I am not letting Giles take off on that thing, Xander, either accept that or get out of my way.”
Xander shook his head. “Remember Glory, skanky hell goddess who is searching for the you know what?”
Buffy shot Xander a look. “No, Xander, I haven’t forgotten our enemy. Dawn’s coming too. There’s no way Glory can follow us if we go with them,” she stated, indicating the large airship floating in the sky.
Bowser, the Koopa King stomped over to the three of them. “Hold the phone, I ain’t here to take on more passengers, just the Giles guy,” he stated.
“Tough,” Buffy said; her eyes narrowed as she shot the Koopa King her patented Slayer glare, Bowser actually stepped back at that. “Giles is my friend, not to mention a very important person to me, I will not let him leave for some weird kingdom dimensiony place without me,” she declared.
Bowser stomped his foot. “Trust those wizards to know a Watcher,” he complained. “Alright, you can come, but no slaying my minions.”
Xander shook his head with a sigh. “I’m not letting you take off without me, Buffster.”
Buffy shot him a disquiet look. “What about Anya?”
“She’ll just have to come too, either that or deal,” he replied.
“Terrific,” Bowser griped, “anybody else going to tag along?” he asked in a sarcastic tone.
Buffy shot him a winning smile. “Just my sister.”
“Ugh, how do I get into these situations?” Bowser stormed off to ready the ship for departure.
Xander glanced at the silent Harry, and then shot Buffy a winning smile. “So who get’s to tell Giles?”
Buffy frowned. “Do you think he’ll pitch a fit?”
Xander shook his head. “Nah, I’m more curious though how Glory will react when she finds out we’re gone.”
“Maybe Willow and Tara should come with us too,” Buffy mused, she suddenly felt deeply uncomfortable.
“Good idea, we don’t want Glory taking out her frustration on them.”
Buffy nodded. “Let’s pack, fast,” she said.
Harry smiled and took a step forward. “Allow me to assist with that, Buffy, my spells can make the job go by faster. I have a feeling Hermione won’t let us wait too much longer.”
Buffy nodded. “I wonder what they’re talking about in there?”
Xander shrugged. “Search me, I’m more curious to know what this Mushroom Kingdom is going to be like. Think they got any beaches?”The End
