Not in Kansas part 2
Disclaimer: I own neither BtVS, nor Merry Gentry. Joss and Laurell, however, do.
Crossing: BtVS/ Merry Gentry
A/N: This follows the previous Merry Gentry ficlet, an undetermined amount of time later.
ooDoyle watched the girl go through her katas, impressed by the speed and accuracy with which she performed them. It was graceful like a dance, and with an underlying potential for lethality he found intriguing.
"She moves well."
He nodded, continuing to watch as he replied, "What do you intend to do with her?"
Barinthus sighed, "I cannot send her to the King, and I
will not give her to the Queen. She is too fragile for that. I fear for what the Queen would do to such innocence."
"She is an experienced fighter," Doyle said.
"But naïve to the ways of the world, the ways of the Sidhe. I will not have her harmed," Barinthus replied hotly. He breathed in a calming breath, "I would send her with you when you go to retrieve the Princess, if that would be alright." He turned to face Doyle fully, locking his own gaze with the Queen's most trusted, her Darkness. "For the sake of what once was, I would ask that you keep her a secret, for now."
Doyle's head turned, almost of its own volition, back towards the smoothly dancing blonde. She was golden and beautiful, but he saw the fragility that was so apparent to Barinthus. His Queen would as well, and would twist this girl into her own creature.
"Please," Barinthus repeated.
"For now."
