Dawn Summers/Neal Caffrey
I do not own Harry Potter, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Naruto, X-Men, White Collar, or anything related to them.
"Stop grinning," Dawn said, causing Remy's grin to get even wider. "Seriously, this isn't funny." The grin got wider again.
"Well," Harry said. "It kinda is."
"You be quiet," Dawn said, scowling at him. "Don't think I don't know exactly why Remy stole it in the first place." Harry pouted. The intruder, currently tied up in their living room, continued sulking. "And you, stop sulking. You can have the music box after you explain why you need it, assuming it's a good enough reason."
For the first time tonight, Neal Caffrey cursed his luck. Finding the music box within his two-mile radius had been a godsend, or at least a sign. The fact that the father of the family (currently grinning like a madman) left the attic window just slightly open for easy entrances and exits (the man was obviously a thief), had been an even better godsend. And then, to find it sitting on the mantle of the fireplace, just waiting to be taken - luck was most certainly on his side tonight.
Then the little terror happened. Neal was normally good with kids, but damn if the little one, currently hiding behind his mother with his sister, didn't have a set of lungs that he had no problem using. Three seconds later he had been tied to a (very uncomfortable) chair in the living room of the house the music box was in.
"Well?" Apparently, the woman was expecting him to answer. He kept his mouth shut.
"You within your radius?" Remy asked. Dawn looked at him in confusion, until he gestured to Neal's tracking anklet.
"That has to suck," Harry said.
"Quiet you, or I'll get you one," Dawn threatened, before turning back to Neal, "Look, I'm not into violence. That's my sister's thing. Tell me what you need the music box for, and I'll let you have it (she glared Harry who was about to protest), so long as you aren't going to use it to end the world or anything." Neal decided to take his chances with the truth. It wasn't like Peter would be by to rescue him anytime soon.
"I need it to rescue my girlfriend who was kidnapped by an FBI agent named Fowler." Remy snorted, right before Dawn slammed her foot down on top of his.
"Kidnapped huh? I hate it when the bad guys do that. Does this Fowler guy intend to end the world?"
"I have no clue. I don't even know why he wants it."
"Wonderful. Harry, cast some sort of tracking charm on the music box. We'll keep an eye on it. If Fowler tries to end the world, I'll open a portal to Antarctica and shove him through it."
Half a minute later, Neal was out the door, music box in hand, and getting into the car with Mozzie.
"You get it?" Moz asked. Neal held up his prize.
"If I ever decide to come back here, make sure Peter shoots me." Moz gave him a strange look, but didn't comment.
