Sineya Foundation for Exceptional Potential campus
Fort Collins, CO

"Hey, Xand! Callie just called and said that there's a bunch of people at the front gate who say they need to talk to you," Siobhan called across the office to the Sineya Foundation's Vice-President of Facilities Maintenance and Renovation as he reviewed a set of blueprints spread across a drafting board.

"Yeah? Did they say who they were, and what they need to meet with me about?" Xander called back as he looked up from an examination of the proposed layout for the Council's newest – and hopefully, slayer-proof – school. "As far as I know, I don't have any meetings scheduled for today."

A moment later, after quickly speaking with Callie and having her pass on Xander's questions to the visitors, Siobhan informed him, "They said they need to talk to you about some private issues having to do your family and it's really very important that you hear what they have to say, Xand. Oh, and that it shouldn't take more than an hour, at most.

"Callie also said to tell you that she and Eileen both agree that the African-American guy feels a little bit 'off,' but that he doesn't feel like any kind of demon either of them have ever met, and that he's not giving off any bad guy vibes, just ones that are a wee bit off from normal," she relayed the gate guards' impressions

"And Danny said that to tell you that all of their auras are completely clear and untainted," she noted after an additional moment's conversation with a second person, evidently the wizard on guard duty with the two Slayers.

"He said that the primary attributes coloring all of their emotional states are concern and some minor anxiety about you, and a lot of curiosity about you and the Foundation," Siobhan added, "and he also just said that he thinks the big blond guy who looks like a football player might be some kind of sensitive, because he was looking around as though he sensed him when he was doing his scan."

"Hmm, sounds intriguing," Xander commented as he got up from his chair. "Family business, huh? With one guy who might not be entirely human, and another one who seems to be some sort of sensitive?" said the man who was persona non grata in most of central Africa to himself.

"Sounds like it's gonna be another typical day in the life of Xander Harris, weirdness magnet extraordinaire," the man sighed as he grabbed his jeans jacket and made for the door.

"All right. Have Callie and Danny escort these guys to the visitors room in the main building and have her tell them that I'll be there as soon as I can, okay?" he called over his shoulder as he headed out.

"And they're to stay there with them until I get there. Under no circumstances are they to leave these people alone," he ordered.

"Not after what happened during Uncle Rory's last visit," Xander muttered to himself as he started down the stairway at the end of the hallway.

"Uh, guys, I think we should be very careful about what any of us says about anything in front of any of these people," the big, blond-haired youth murmured in a low voice to his companions as they lagged a bit behind the two adolescents taking them to meet the purpose of their trip to this city.

"Why's that, Gage?" Bridget Flynn, the dark-haired Goth who appeared to be the oldest member of the group, asked as she kept a close watch on both their escorts and their surroundings.

"Because I think that there might possibly be some other – enhanced – people nearby," he answered the least bit cautiously. "I think I felt what might have been someone trying to scan us, back while we were waiting to hear if this Harris guy would see us.

"I'm not completely sure about it, mind you," Gage explained, "but if someone was trying to scan on us, that could mean that we could possibly end up meeting someone like – Cynthia – or her mother.

"I haven't tried to do any scanning of my own because I didn't want to possibly alert whoever was doing the scan, if there actually is someone doing that," he finished up.

"Great," Olivia Lewis sighed as she noticed the young girl who was guiding them across the campus stiffen slightly at her half-brother's low-voiced words.

"Based on the changes in her body language, I'm guessing that our escort up ahead – or the girl, at least – just heard everything you two said right now, and that she's not all that happy about it," she advised her companions, before she raised her voice and directed her next words at the pair of teens in front of them, who had both stopped walking and turned back to face them.

"Look, uh, Callie and, ah, Danny," Olivia said calmly as she and her four companions also halted on the macadam walkway, "I don’t know who you people think we might be, but we're only here to talk to Alexander Harris about some private matters we've only recently learned about, and we'll be leaving as soon as we're done, unless Mr. Harris wants us to stay and discuss things with him longer.

"We're not here to cause any sort of trouble for you people or this school, and we're definitely not looking to upset anyone or anything, okay?" she said, holding her hands out at waist level in a calming gesture.

"Right, guys?" Olivia asked as she glanced back at her associates.

Receiving a somewhat restrained chorus of grunts, nods and assents, Olivia gave Callie and Danny a half-hearted smile and said, "So, since that's settled, can we just continue on to this meeting and hopefully avoid any sort of unpleasantness?"

After a few seconds delay, during which both teens looked as though they might be listening to someone's instructions, the two both nodded and, after first waiting for the five visitors to join them, then proceeded, silently and warily, on their way.

"Okay. I'm Alexander Harris, and these are my friends, Willow Rosenberg and Buffy and Dawn Summers," the dark-haired guy with the disturbingly weathered-looking eyepatch– who was most definitely something more just an ordinary academic – said as he entered the room and introduced his companions as he looked over the five visitors.

"So who are you people and what did you want to talk to me about?"

"My name is Olivia Lewis," the middling-tall African-American woman in the group took the position of spokesperson and began the introductions.

"This is Bridget Flynn," she indicated a shorter Goth-looking brunette, "Gage Reinhart," the massive blond-haired teen Danny had earlier identified as a potential Sensitive, "Spenser Bridges," an African-American teen, "and Hector Chang," an Asian-American youth, who appeared to be the youngest of the group.

"Before we go on, though, I feel I should ask: are you sure you want to discuss what we have to tell you in front of your friends?" she asked, pausing for a moment.

"Because it could be, ah, potentially embarrassing for you," Olivia said earnestly.

None of the five visitors were at all prepared for the loud laugh Olivia's statement received or for Harris' comment, "Ms. Lewis, unless this information you're talking about includes detailed descriptions or video tape of someone named 'The Astonishing Alexander' dancing at 'The Fabulous Ladies Night Club,' my friends can hear anything you have to say." The quintet also noted all three of the women accompanying Xander shoot him glances that were both amused and clearly curious about his previous statement.

"All right, then," Olivia shrugged her acknowledgement of his decision. "It's your choice."

With a last minute glance at her siblings, she turned back to Harris and began their story.

"I'm sure you know who Captain Dynamo was, and that he died a little over two years ago," she said.

"Yeah, he was that superhero who was based out of Tower City," the brunette who'd been introduced as Dawn Summers answered as the others all nodded agreement.

"Captain Dynamo's real name was William Warner, and he was my father, as well as the father of all of my siblings, who're standing here alongside me," Olivia then went on.

"But, you see, what most people don’t know about him is that Captain Dynamo was also a serial philanderer, and he had what's turning out to be a fairly large number of illegitimate children…"

The expression on Xander’s face suddenly turned into an absolutely priceless picture of wide-eyed astonishment, as he quickly added two and two together and got four-point-oh my God...
