Digital Hero: Chapter One: Strange Situation
Disclaimer: I don’t own Buffy the Vampire Slayer, or Digimon.
Xander groaned as he woke up. He felt so sleepy. He just wanted to just settle back down on the floorboards and go back to sleep… ‘Wait a minute, floorboards?’ Xander thought to himself. His mind caught up with his body as Xander realizes he is most definitely not in his own bed. He tries to move, but Xander finds that he seems to be tied down by some sticky material.
Bending his head to look at his body, Xander realizes two things. First, he was being held down by something which closely resembled a spider-web, and second, his body wasn’t quite what he remembered it as being. For one thing, he didn’t recall having brown skin before, or claws, or being that short, or having a white tattoo on the left side of his chest, or… Let’s just go with saying that he was most definitely not Xander-shaped anymore.
The most important thing to do in a situation like Xander found himself is to try to keep calm, and try to recall what brought about said situation. Xander’s last memories were of going to the Bronze with Willow and Buffy, celebrating the beginning of winter break. He remembered dancing with some girl who introduced herself as Aru Keni. A strange girl, who wore sunglasses, and a red dress, and had shoulder length white hair, but she was beautiful, and seemingly enjoying spending time with Xander. He remembered her inviting him to go kiss in private in the back-room, and like a fool following her. Of course, as soon as they were alone, the normal Harris luck kicked in and the beautiful Aru turned out to be some sort of spider monster, who knocked him out.
Xander assessed his options, he wasn’t dead yet, nor did he seem to be missing anything, other that his normal body, it didn’t feel like he was being prepared for some sort of sacrifice, normally sacrifices tend to happen in dark holes lit by torches, not plain rooms with beige walls. As anyone who has faced the situation of waking up who-knows-where, in a body not their own, will tell you, you have two options in that sort of situation. First, you can panic, and start screaming at the top of your lungs. Or second, you can feint, and pray that it’s all just a bad dream. Xander’s somewhat overloaded brain chose the second option.
Author’s Note: This just popped into my mind and wouldn’t let go. This might be a one shot, or it might not. I do have a few ideas or where I could go with this, but I’m not planning on anything too elaborate, and will just work on this on my free time when I’m not working on either my Amalgam series, or Chaotic Rebirth.
