Andrew was going about his (to him) highly important duties (setting up breakfast, preparing to lecture and advise the young slayers), when he was startled by a flash of pink light. While he had become accustomed to unusual happenings and strange arrivals, usually teleportation lights were white, or, on occasion, green. He turned to regard his invader.
Lounging on the counter where he usually chopped vegetables, was a vision of a woman. She was blond, blue eyed, and wearing little more than a bikini (pink of course). All in all, she presented the image of a woman who did not have to work to support herself. She struck a pose, inasmuch as that was possible from her reclined position. “Hello, sweetie. Did you miss me?” she asked.
“MOM!” Andrew cried. “Get off that counter! That's unsanitary!” He waved a ladle at her. “This is MY kitchen. I run it by MY rules, and MY rules say, NO NAKED WOMEN ON THE COUNTERS!” He shook his head. “Honestly, Mom, you don't have to put on a show, it's just me here.”
Aphrodite hopped down. She practically skipped over to Andrew and put her arms around him. “Oh, snookums, what's the matter? Are you unhappy here? I know that you always wanted to work with heroes, even if you are a bit like Joxer in that way. Are they treating you all right?”
“I'm fine. I do great work here, and the future greats of the slaying world look up to me and hang on my every word. Some of the older guys still treat me kind of like Xena and Herc treated Joxer, but that's all right. I know how important I am here. An army marches on its stomaches, and this army rests on my kitchen. If it weren't for me, everything would collapse.” He sighed. “I would like a bit more respect from my esteemed colleagues, but other than that, I couldn't be happier.”
She squealed and hugged him tighter. “Ok, honey, but just remember, there'll always be a place for you up in my temple. Why don't you come by some time? I know Cupie and Bliss miss you. Just for a weekend? Please, please, please, please?”
He laughed. “Ok, alright, already. Just give me a little time to make sure that things don't collapse in my absence. It will be good to stretch my wings again.”
Aphrodite gave him one last hug and a kiss on the cheek. “See you then, sweetheart,” echoed through the kitchen as she dissolved into a multitude of glowing pink hearts.
Andrew shook his head in bemusement, and turned back to his breakfast preparations. “Parents.”
Please tell me what you think? I see those two as having somewhat similar personalities, at least on the surface.
