Xander frowned in disappointment and slight disgust as he surveyed the only motel this town had to offer. The hotel’s sign was dimly lit and advertised Color TV. He put the SUV in park and turned off the engine, the strains of The Man in Black were abruptly silenced.

It only took a few moments to check in with the elderly lady at the front desk before he was handed the keys to room fifteen. He hefted his duffel bag over his shoulder and headed down the row of doors until he reached number fifteen.

After a quick inspection of the room, he made his way back toward the edge of town where he’d seen the bar. He still had another hour and a half drive ahead of him in the morning to drop off supplies to a Slayer before the monstrous sixteen plus hour drive back to Cleveland, but after the hunt he’d just had he desperately wanted to drink until the memories went away.

It was a quick walk, only two blocks before he was pushing the front door in and stepping inside. He rotated his head quickly from one side of the bar to the other, taking in everyone and determining the bar was safe. All eyes were on him as he made his way to the bar. He was used to it though – it wasn’t every day that a one-eyed man with an eye patch walked into a bar.

He took an empty seat at the bar, grabbing the tiny standing menu to see what food they offered. The clinking of silverware being dropped into a glass next to him drew Xander’s attention away from his menu of few choices and to the guy behind the bar.

“Sorry,” the guy muttered as Xander looked up, up past the guy’s chest, and still further to his face.

Sam Winchester stood across from him and he looked just as shocked to see Xander as Xander was to see him.

“Xander, right?” Sam managed to ask.

“Yeah, nice to see you again S—“ he started but Sam abruptly cut him off.

“Keith,” he said and Xander gave a slow nod.

“Keith,” he echoed, correcting himself.

“What brings you here?” Sam asked.

It was a friendly question, but Xander heard the strain in his voice. Something wasn’t quite right. “Just finished a hunt outside Wichita in Clearwater. On my way down to Oklahoma City for a quick stop before I head back to Cleveland to regroup,” he honestly answered and was a little unsettled about how intently Sam was studying him.

Sam looked like he was able to ask another question but was cut off by the man at the other end of the bar calling for Keith to bus a couple tables.

“Yes, sir,” Sam called back and turned his attention back to Xander. “I’ve got to…” he trailed off with a tilt of his head toward the tables.

“No problem. I’ll be here,” Xander replied, gesturing with the menu in his hand.

“You all done with that?” Sam’s question washed over Xander as he appeared next to him at the bar.

Xander gave him a slight nod and pushed his plate and few remaining fries toward Sam. He looked over Sam’s shoulder into the rest of the bar, expecting to see Dean slide up next to his brother or drinking at one of the tables, but he’d been coming up short all evening.

“He’s not here,” Sam said as he cleared the plate into the bus tub and looked back up at Xander.

Xander felt his cheeks flush. “That obvious?”

“Not really.” Xander was grateful for Sam’s lie. “You uh…” Sam trailed off. “Talked to Dean recently?”

“Not in a couple months. Just talked shop.” A blush crept up his neck and face at the slight lie. Yeah Dean’d called about a hunt but it’d been a mutually beneficial conversation for both of them.

Sam’s eyes widened almost comically at Xander’s flush but he didn’t avert his gaze. “Never really thought my brother would swing that way,” Sam finally commented.

“Strange things a man will do when alcohol and a hot woman are involved,” Xander calmly stated.

“No woman last time,” Sam pointed out.

“I blame her nonetheless,” Xander answered.

Sam let out a soft snort, accompanied by a slight shake of his head, and then he hefted the bus tub up and disappeared from Xander’s side just as quietly as he had approached.

Xander remained at the bar until last call, steadily making his way through beer after beer, and was pleasantly buzzed. He fished his wallet from his back pocket, sliding out his Watcher’s Council credit card and placing it on the bar for Sam. “I’ll take that tab now,” Xander told Rick, the bartender, and worked on finishing his last beer.

Rick gave a slight nod, letting Xander know he heard him, and made his way back to the cash register to settle out his tab. He came back a few minutes later and laid the card, two receipts and a pen in front of Xander.

Xander quickly scrawled his name on one receipt, left Rick a generous tip, and slid his receipt and his credit card back into his wallet.

“Leaving?” Sam asked as he came to a stop in front of Xander with a rack of clean glasses in his hands. Xander couldn’t help but notice the muscles straining in Sam’s arms at the heavy weight. He was disappointed when Sam set the rack down on the bar next to him and started refilling the shelves.

“What’re you doing here,” Xander finally asked the question that had been bugging him all night as Sam had worked, hard, around the bar.

Panic flashed through Sam’s eyes but it was gone in a moment when he blinked. “I uh…” he started and then trailed off.

“Not working a hunt?” Xander prompted.

“No. Dean and I split up. We’re doing our own things,” Sam finally answered and set a few more glasses on the shelf with an unsteady hand.

“Dean still hunting?”

Sam looked up and met his eyes as he answered, “Yeah. I just, I took a break.”

Xander recognized the look on Sam’s face, had seem it all too often on Willow’s when she was thinking back to her magic addition, or when she was asked to do something wickedly powerful and she was worried she’d fall headfirst back into that dangerous rush. Sam’d gotten in over his head in something and it wasn’t going to just go away because he ran away.

“In Garber, Oklahoma?”

“Why not?” Sam replied with a shrug.

Xander offered a slight nod in understanding. He knew he could offer Sam a place at the Council even if it was just a place to stay. Faith would love to get her hands on Dean’s hot little brother. But there were times he wanted to get away, to go somewhere where no one knew his name, knew what lurked in the darkness. And he knew even if he offered, Sam would refuse.

They remained in comfortable silence while Sam studied him again, swallowed heavily before speaking, “You staying at the Great Plains?” he finally asked.

“There any other rathole in town?”

Sam shook his head and gave him a quirk of a smile. “I’ll be out of here in twenty,” Sam finally said as he held Xander’s gaze.

Shocked, it took Xander a few moments to fully process what Sam was offering. He’d come to the bar to forget about his last hunt and the alcohol wasn’t working. Maybe this would help. Never hurt to try. “I’m in room fifteen,” Xander replied and slid off the stool.

Thirty minutes later there was a knock at his door and Xander turned off the television and headed for the door. A quick look out the peephole confirmed it was Sam, so Xander unlocked the door and pulled it open.

“Hey,” Sam quickly stated as he fidgeted.

“Come on in,” Xander replied and took a step back from the doorway, allowing Sam enough room to move into the room without brushing against him.

Xander gave him a moment to check out the room as he shut and bolted the door. There were salt lines under every window, a large semi-circle around the door, and Xander’s duffel of weapons was on the table.

Surprisingly Sam flinched at the weapons bag and veered toward the bed. And Xander could tell the moment Sam spotted the condoms and lube on the nightstand as he faltered mid-step.
Sam turned back to face Xander and swallowed heavily. “I’ve never done this before,” he confessed, stealing another glance at the nightstand.

“I hadn’t done it before either,” he offered. “And I had to go raid the machine in the lobby with a woman old enough to be my grandmother watching my every move and selection.”

Sam laughed with him as he dug into his own pockets. He pulled out a strip of condoms and a bottle of lube. “Yeah, me too! Only her husband was watching the desk and grinning at me the whole time,” he concluded.

Xander couldn’t help but laugh at how prepared they both had come. Xander moved forward when they lapsed into silence. Sam was taller than he was and he had to lean up to press his mouth against the younger man’s. But Sam didn’t move or object as Xander’s lips pressed against his, only a slight widening of his eyes gave away how unsure and nervous he was about the situation. Xander moaned and opened his mouth further as he closed the small distance and pressed himself against Sam.

It was Sam who broke it off first, pulling his head back and sucking a deep breath. His eyes were half-closed, pupils dilated with lust.

“Gonna freak out on me?” Xander asked as his free hand settled onto Sam’s hip.

Sam ran his tongue over his lips but he shook his head no.

“Good,” Xander replied and pushed on Sam’s hip until he backed up, legs hitting the end of the bed. Sam wavered a little, his hands wrapping securely around Xander’s hips to steady himself.
Xander eased up for a second to focus on Sam. “Sit down. You’re gonna enjoy this,” he told Sam.

Sam raised an eyebrow but allowed Xander to push him down on the mattress, bouncing slightly. His hair was messed up from where Xander’s fingers had gripped and tugged. His lips were red and swollen from their kisses.

Xander slowly lowered himself to his knees, shouldering his way in between Sam’s legs. The belt buckle came undone easily. Xander reached for the button Sam’s pants, popping it open and then easing down the zipper. Sam’s erection was pressing against this boxers, the head peeking out the top. It was shiny with pre-come and Xander ducked his head, his tongue swiped over the head and Xander got his first taste of Sam.

Sam’s hips jerked and suddenly one of Sam’s hands was in Xander’s hair, fingers tightening almost painfully. Xander pulled back and hooked his fingers into the waistband of Sam’s boxers. “Lift up,” Xander muttered and Sam lifted his hips enough to Xander to pull the boxers and jeans off his hips and down his legs to gather around his feet.

Sam’s erection bobbed happily against his stomach. Xander took a moment to look it over before he gently wrapped his hand around it. His hand slowly slid down, coming to rest against the base before he pulled it back up, thumb coming out to swipe against the head, smearing the come around before sliding his hand back down.

Xander licked at the head before he opened his mouth and slowly took in Sam’s dick. The first few bobs he took in only a couple inches before he worked his way down, allowing the head of Sam’s dick to nudge against the back of his throat. Sam’s fingers flexed in Xander’s hair in time with the thrust of his hips. Xander allowed Sam to set the rhythm, pushing his dick between his swollen lips and pulling it back out.

“I’m close,” Sam warned as his thrusts sped up and Xander tightened his lips to suck harder. The bursts of pre-come became more frequent. “Xander, I’m gonna come,” Sam told him and tugged on his hair but Xander only sucked harder and rolled Sam’s balls around in his hand.

Sam came loudly with Xander’s name on his lips and a satisfied groan as he finished into Xander’s mouth.

Xander swallowed most of it, the rest dripped down his chin. He pulled off Sam’s dick and ran the back of his hand over his mouth. Sam looked down at him for a moment before one hand fisted his shirt and hauled him up. His mouth was demanding as he kissed Xander, licking his own taste from Xander’s mouth.

Xander pulled away with a laugh, licking at Sam’s bottom lip once more before he settled back on his heels. “Liked that, huh?” Xander asked, even though it was obvious from Sam’s labored breathing and blown pupils that he’d enjoyed it more than just on a physical level.

Sam managed to raise an eyebrow and a wave at his spent cock before he stood up and stepped out of his pants. He held a hand out for Xander and helped him to his feet. Sam kissed Xander again, fingers sliding into Xander’s hair to hold him steady as his tongue danced along his lips before slipping inside.

Slowly Sam’s hands slid down Xander’s body to his jeans, fingers slowly working the button fly open. His thumbs caught the elastic band of Xander’s boxers and pulled them and the jeans down Xander’s hips. Gravity did the rest as they slid down Xander’s legs and pooled at his feet. Sam helped him step out of them and then pushed him down on the bed.

Xander grinned as he landed on his side, sliding an elbow under him to look up at Sam as he crawled into the bed along side of Xander. Sam kissed him again, quickly, pulling away with a quick nip at his lower lip.

Sam wrapped a tentative hand around Xander’s dick. He slowly slid his hand up, fingers not wrapped tight enough to give enough friction. His eyes were staring down the length of their bodies, carefully studying what his hand was doing.

“It won’t break if you actually touch it,” Xander teased Sam.

Sam lifted his head, eyes coming off Xander’s dick and met his gaze. He wrapped his fingers tightly and squeezed. Xander’s hips jerked and a moan escaped his lips. “Better?” Sam asked as he nervously licked his lips.

“Definitely,” Xander managed to get out as he thrust his hips up as Sam’s hand slid down.

Sam caught on quickly, adjusting the strokes, and occasionally running his thumb over the head. It was over in an embarrassingly short time from how excited Xander had gotten from getting Sam off.

As Xander laid there trembling with the aftershocks of his orgasm, sucking in air as his heart raced in his chest, Sam awkwardly held his hand, dripping with Xander’s come, away from his body. He eyed it, unsure what to do with it.

Finally Xander took pity on him. “You can wipe it on the sheets, you know.”

Sam’s head jerked up and a blush stole across his face. “You didn’t,” he pointed out.

Xander offered an attempt at a shrug but his body didn’t really cooperate with him. “Not my first rodeo,” he replied and did manage a leer.

Sam frowned in disgust but raised his hand to his mouth. His tongue darted out, quickly swiping through the mess on his fingers before disappearing back into his mouth.

Xander couldn’t control the whimper as his dick gave another interested jerk. “Do that again and you might not get any sleep tonight,” Xander warned Sam.

Sam leered back at Xander. “That’s kind of the plan.”
