Jack Neillson, 16-year old clone of Colonel Jonathon “Jack” O’ Neill, gazed through the telescope that had been set-up for him on the balcony outside the Council Library. He focused in on a bright star and wondered morosely if it had a planet that the real Jack O’Neill had been to with SG1. Perhaps they were there now, getting captured by some random System Lord’s Jaffa. Or maybe it was just a deeply boring expedition to explore some rock structure that only Daniel cared about. Or maybe…

“Jack,” The voice of a teenage girl called him out of his ruminations. He looked up to see the brunette head of a tall, slender girl.

“What’s up, Dawn?”

“Giles found a prophecy regarding a demon uprising. According to the star map, we can expect a horde of Ta’berith demons any night now. We need all Slayer and Watcher teams out patrolling. Sorry about your night off.”

“Thanks for letting me know.” Jack replied to Dawn’s retreating back. Jack looked up at the star one last time. He hadn’t yet adjusted to the idea that strange astronomical configurations meant demon invasions but it wasn’t the only unusual aspect of his job with the council.
