Friday the Thirteenth
A short project, four to five chapters in length I'd wager, possibly six. This is not a crossover with what you might think, for one thing it centers souly on the Scoobies and dealign with the events of a typical Friday the Thirteenth. I'm thinking this is set at some point in Season Two before Angelus returned. Also I have the second chapter on standby, but will not be posting it until I get the third chapter finished. I plan on getting more non-Buffyverse stories worked on in the foreseeable future, but I can't seem to leave some things well enough alone. This story will be completed by March's end if I'm lucky.
P.S: Yes the story is inspired by a Disney film of the same name, based on a book by some author I haven't recalled the name of, but this story is NOT a crossover with any of those things. It is more of a compliment to them. :DDisclaimer: Buffy and co are the property of Joss and M.E. Productions. The author makes no claim otherwise.
Friday morning a day when the school week was over, or ending and the weekend was close at hand. Xander Harris was ecstatic, he couldn’t wait to get out of Sunnyhell High, but first he had to get out of bed and get dressed.
Stretching his arms he yawned strangely though he felt oddly heavier in the chest then he remembered. Shrugging the odd sensation aside he climbed out of bed and made his way to where the dresser was as he moved he collided with something.
“Ow,” he blurted. His voice sounded off - something wasn’t right - he felt… strange. Rushing for the bathroom he collided with the closet door bounced back and stumbled into a floor length mirror that hadn’t been in his room last night. He also saw someone reflected in said mirror, which also hadn’t been in his room last night. “Ok! Um, Buffy, what are you…” Xander trailed off. He stared at the reflection in the mirror he opened his mouth, the reflection opened her mouth. “Buffy,” he said - the reflection said her name.
“Buffy, hurry up already or you’ll be late for school!” Joyce shouted from downstairs.
Xander stared at his body - Buffy’s body - felt a growing surge of panic and then started to scream.
Joyce came dashing into the room a few seconds later, she looked around trying to find out why her daughter was screaming. “Buffy, what’s wrong?” she asked in a gentle tone.
Buffy turned to look at her stood there for two seconds and then fainted. “Buffy!” Joyce rushed to her daughter’s side, she could hear her mumbling something as she started to come to.
“I’m dreaming, this has to be a dream.”
“Buffy, will you make sense! What is going on?” Joyce demanded she was beginning to feel anxious.
“I’m not Buffy! I’m Xander,” her daughter stated.
Joyce stared at her and then pressed a hand to her forehead. “You don’t have a fever. So why do you feel like you’re Xander?”
Buffy sat bolt upright she glanced down at her chest then turned to face Joyce. “I don’t think I’m Xander, Mrs. S, I am Xander… And I don’t think Buffy’s going to like waking up in my body, if she is in my body? I don’t understand what happened at all, but. I’m Xander.”
Joyce sighed. “If this is some ploy to get out of a test or something, I think you could try a lot better, Buffy,” she accused.
“Mrs. S, I am not Buffy,” Buffy declared.
“Enough, I don’t have time for this, get dressed and get going or else,” Joyce snapped.
“Get dressed,” Buffy repeated her eyes almost glazed over and then she shook her head as a growing look of horror filled them. “Oh no! Buffy’s going to kill me, if we ever get switched back,” she stated.
Joyce shook her head and left the room she wasn’t going to continue to humor Buffy. “I mean it, young lady, get ready for school now!”
Buffy blinked. “Ok, well at least I can take some comfort in the fact that Buffy’s probably going to have one heck of a surprise once she wakes up,” she remarked. “Now… how am I supposed to get dressed without looking at my body?” she wondered with a shudder. To Be Continued
