Willow watched out of her slightly opened door as Theo escorted Buffy back to her rooms. They spoke in soft tones for a moment before Theo told her goodnight and started to walk off. Willow frowned. No goodnight kiss?
He stopped suddenly, turned and walked back up to her. He said something, kissed her politely on the lips in a way that was only slightly lingering, then he smiled and walked off.
As soon as he had cleared the hallway, Willow rushed out of her room and shoved Buffy inside of hers. "Well?"
Buffy wasn't paying attention and nearly tripped when Willow shoved her back into her rooms. "Well what? Well I'm sorry for nearly breaking your neck?" she asked sarcastically.
"He kissed you! What did he say before? He was going to leave, and he turned around and kissed you. Did you have a good time? What did you do? Where did he take you?"
She wobbled as she pulled her shoes off. "In reverse order? And maybe after I change into my PJ's?"
"Hurry," Willow said, sitting on the couch. "Did you talk? What's he like?"
Buffy giggled at Willow's impatience and went to quickly change. She came back and sat next to Willow. "Okay, so we went to this high end place in the main shopping alley in London. I forgot the name of it, but it was fancy."
"He took you to the high end of Diagon? And what else? You didn't just eat. You were gone for hours, Buffy."
She bit her lip to hide her wide grin. "There was dancing. We danced after the meal, which was huge and amazing. And we talked about school, life, and other stuff. He has an older brother and had a younger sister."
Willow didn't like the sound of that.
"She died, and he said she's the reason he became a healer. I can understand it, and is it wrong that I think that's sweet? That he's helping us in honor of his sister?"
Willow smiled. It was sweet. It made her want to like him. Not that she didn't, but there was something about Theo that made her nervous. It might be because he kept to himself. She just didn't know enough about him to trust him with her best friend.
"Is he a good dancer? You didn't eat all crazy, did you?"
"He's a good dancer," she said, ignoring the other question. "We waltzed at one point. He assured me I wasn't bad at it. I don't know if he was lying or not."
"And what did he say before he kissed you goodnight?" Willow asked, leaning close.
She was glad Buffy had a date, and it seemed like she'd had a good time. That was good.
That she had already determined to take to her grave. "Oh no. You're not getting that out of me."
"Buffy! Why? Was it naughty? Was it sexy and naughty? Did it make you regret you're not a big old ho who sleeps with hot British guys on the first date?"
"Willow!" Buffy said with an incredulous laugh before grabbing a pillow and launching it at her friend.
"What? The last person that kissed me did so right after she kissed Blaise and it was only because she was having a vision-induced Seer's panic attack. I want normal stuff, so give it up, Summers."
She wasn't about to let that tidbit of information go, but she would acquiesce for now.
"Well, when he first dropped me off, he told that he might have forgotten to tell me how lovely I looked, and when he came back, it was mostly a warning for me, because he wanted to kiss me and didn't want to get punched in return."
Buffy melted back into the pillows. "Wills, it was wonderful. There was only minimal talk of death and slaying. We just had dinner, went dancing, had great conversation, and he even talked about taking me out for chocolate and ice cream."
"The date was wonderful or the kiss was? Or both?"
It was almost sad living so vicariously through Buffy, but it was safer than what she knew about herself right now.
"Both," she replied with a grin.
"I'm glad you had a good time, and he wants to go out with you again? For chocolate and ice cream? Wow. All he has to do is take you shopping and feed you cheese and your panties will catch on fire."
"Well, he did mention taking me shopping and also taking me up on a broom. He fed me cheese tonight and showed me some new cheeses."
"New cheeses? I admire your resolve," Willow replied with a grin. "I'd have probably slept with him."
Buffy made a face. "If you hadn't pushed me in the room, I would have run after him."
"Well, you don't want to seem desperate." Willow made a face. "He kissed that good?"
"He did, but he didn't have to. There's no urgency, which I'm happy about. I like going slow. I can appreciate it. And I don't have to hold back with him. He's not... with Riley, being with me was like a game he could play and we were always sparring with each other and doing patrols and talking about the next kill. With Theo, we talked about school of all things. I don't have to worry about him wanting to run off and kill something."
"That's good, and oh! He already knows about the slaying, so you don't have to worry about that."
"Exactly," she replied. "And he's alive, so I don't have to worry about pesky moral issues."
"Draco's going to freak out about this, you know. Probably a lot, but as long as Theo keeps you happy, I won't have to hurt him."
Buffy shrugged. "He and Theo don't like each other. I'm prepared for a rerun of Xander's rants when I dated Angel. I could handle that, and I can handle this."
"Nothing against Xand, but something tells me Draco's barbs will be a bit barbier."
"It's their wands. Something about that piece of wood makes them dangerous."
Willow tried not to let her mind got to the naughty place, but it couldn't be helped. Sometimes Buffy said things that ended up being suggestive without meaning to.
Buffy's face went red. "I meant it differently and you know it."
"I couldn't help it. So what else? What all did you eat? Was it fancy?"
"Well, we had a fruit and cheese plate first with a wine. We both had a salad, then dinner, then this awesome molten chocolate cake." She made nummy noises.
Willow giggled. "So are you going to ask him out or wait for him to ask you again?"
She made a face. "I don't know. Should I be wait for him or should I do it myself? Isn't he kind of old fashioned?"
"I guess. As of now, you know him better than me. You could always..." She started giggling. "Ask Draco."
Buffy snorted, but actually debated asking him. "Do you think I could do it where he wouldn't be suspicious."
"You do remember we are talking about Draco, right? The same guy who suggested Theo was a serial killer."
She shrugged. "I might try it. It would be amusing regardless, right?"
