"I knew I shouldn't have let you talk me into this," Jack complained.

"Are you kidding?" Dawn exclaimed. "Kit would have killed us if we didn't do this. It's tradition!"

"We're not students," he reminded her, "and I can't do magic."

"But you can see the castle, so maybe you're a squib!" she pointed out cheerfully. "You're just cranky because the hat put me in Gryffindor."

"We're not students," he repeated.

Dawn grabbed his hand. "Actually, it's kind of fitting. I mean, yeah, you're brave, but above all else... These belong in Hufflepuff, where they are just and loyal..."
