Medically Necessary

A/n: A moment of silence for the death of the Hostess company... Xander I am sorry for your loss. Happy Thanksgiving All! And yes I know that its short again and yes I'm evil for leaving it there. *smirk*

Medically Necessary

In the ether Q jr. fumed as he watched his carefully prepared gifts go up in flames. It was something that he couldn't do anything about, especially not with his current babysitter. Oh, he could probably get away with making life harder for them all but what would that accomplish? Unless... yes, that might work. A diamond in the rough or at least stuffed inside of a stinky fish. Now if only he could get it past his sitters....

Back in the SGC infirmary...

Xander came to with a groan of complaint and a *scritch, scritch* sound accompanied by the feeling of someone scraping something out of an oddly numb wound on his chest. He slowly opened his eyes a slit and took a look around at where he was, then he blinked them open fully and looked down at his chest. The fact that Ethan was carefully scraping some sort of acid green goop that seemed to be bubbling out of a chest wound he didn't ever remember receiving and could barely feel anything from was more than a little disconcerting.

"Um, what are you doing and what is that?" Xander asked as he carefully didn't move.

Ethan glanced up at Xander and nodded. "Good, you're awake. You can do this yourself. Don't get it on anything except for the metal bowl and knife, don't cover the wound, and whatever you do don't mix it with Salt water. We don't know the result if your goop mixes with salt water but last time we found that Ripper's makes nitroglycerin." He warned causing Xander to gulp. "I have to go scrape out my own wounds, thankfully I'm not producing as much as you or Ripper. Although it would be nice to know what it actually does."

"That's good to know." Xander said weakly as he took the bowl and butter knife from the chaos mage.

"Perhaps I'll accidentally spill some salt water on it?" he mused as he returned to his own bed and the scraping out his own much more slowly oozing wound, appearing to completely ignore Xander's reaction. That was when the entire base was rocked by an explosion.

"Freeze!" Janet ordered. "If you get out of those beds I swear you'll be stuck in them for the next month, medically necessary or not." She threatened, as all of them tried to get up and see what had happened and if they could help.

Slowly ever so slowly they slid back down into their various chairs or beds depending upon where they had each been at the time. No one wanted to cross Janet. Everyone was still nervous or on edge over the explosion and not knowing what had happened when explosions usually mean something bad, especially around the SGC. So it shouldn't have been a surprise to anyone that Murphy decided that their lives weren't interesting enough and tripped a nurse who was carrying a saline solution to a different bed. Dumping the entire contents on the metal bowl filled with the acid green goop that was still slowly oozing out of Xander's wound. Those who watched the nurse's fall with some horror and no way to prevent it waited in dread to see what the goop became....
