: Paris Gellar can have that effect on a man
"There's no excuse for this not to work, Reilly. There are plenty of people who would be happy to partner with me on this assignment and if you aren't one of them, you may as well drop out now." Paris Gellar was fixing him with an utterly terrifying glare. "I hear Hartford Community College has a passable business program."
Connor Reilly swallowed. Paris was possibly the most terrifying woman he had ever met. "I--I--"
"Hold on," she commanded, pulling a cell phone out of her pocket and answering it. "What?"
Her terrifying demeanor softened almost imperceptibly as she spoke to someone named 'Rory'. Connor sighed in relief. Maybe her boyfriend - Connor pitied the guy - could keep her at human levels of crazy.
It was not to be, he realized, as she rang off the call and her attitude returned. "You will research the inception of the Byzantine empire and I'll do the rest. Meet me in the cafeteria at eight AM on Wednesday so we can review our notes."
"I have a class at eight on Wednesday."
Paris looked, to say the least, unhappy. "Ten AM on Thursday, then."
He had a class then, too, but he could probably afford to miss it more than he could afford to piss off Paris Gellar.
Connor agreed and silently saluted that Rory guy. A man had to have balls to deal with a woman like that.
Then he thought that maybe he should reconsider Stanford.
