I’m Not the Bad Guy
Spoilers: Angel, November 19
Looking down at the ring on her hand, Eve sighed. The memories surrounding that object haunted her enough when she slept, she didn’t need to be reminded of them now.
The diamond sparkled, and she couldn’t help the pain welling up in her chest. She hated thinking about him. He had left her; he had left their wonderful relationship. All because he couldn’t stand Wolfram & Hart.
With an angry movement, the ring was off her finger and smashing against the wall of her apartment. Why did things never work out for her? Why did everybody expect the worse?
Eve carefully brought her hand up to touch the bruises around her neck. They stung, but the words said while inflicting them hurt even more.
People always found something about her to doubt, to mistrust. If it wasn’t her mutation, it was her job. If it wasn’t her job, it was her looks. If it wasn’t her looks… well, you get the point.
Tears welled up in the blonde’s eyes before she pushed them back down. She didn’t need them, any of them. Warren Worthington could beg naked before her and she wouldn’t take him back.
“I’m not the bad guy.”
