Disclaimer: I do not own Doctor Who or Buffy the Vampire Slayer. They both belong to other people.
Timeline: Just after Cold Blood in Doctor Who. Remember Amy saying she wanted to go to Rio? In Buffy, it's before Kendra has met Buffy. Which means she hasn't been a Slayer for that long.
Kendra crept through the forest. It was night so the vampires and demons would be on the prowl. Suddenly, Kendra had a weird whirring noise and something appeared in front of her. Something that looked like a box, but it was..blue. Kendra pulled her knife out and waited, her body tensed for the slightest sound. The doors to the thing opened and red-headed girl stepped out.
“This is not Rio. Again. You promised me beaches and hot, sexy Brazilian men. We're in the middle of a jungle, Doctor!” Her accent was strange to Kendra. A man came out next to her. He was wearing a suit even though it boiling hot and a bizarre article of clothing around his neck.
“Well yes it isn't, but we are in the Americas. Actually to be specific,” the abnormal man stuck out his finger, licked it, and held it out in the air. “Jamaica. We are in Jamaica. Jamaica is great, Amy. They have bananas! I love bananas. They're just so...bananery.” The man suddenly noticed her.
“Oh hello,I'm the Doctor and this my companion Amy Pond.” The man broke off, probably because Kendra now had her knife at his throat.
“Who are yer?” she asked. Kendra knew she wasn't supposed to talk to men, but she doubted he was actually man.
“Well actually I just told you. I'm the Doctor and the girl is Amy.”
“Yer demons,” Kendra stated. She could feel it in her blood. She pressed her knife harder to his throat.
“What? Nothing demony here. Amy's completely human and I'm well I'm not a human, but I'm definitely not a demon.”
“If yer not human than I must kill yer,” Kendra said and she punched him the nose. The man fell to the ground.
“Oi, what do you think you're doing? You don't just go around hitting people,” the girl shouted and she shoved Kendra. Kendra was stunned.
“If yer put yer hand on me again, I will hurt yer,” Kendra threatened the girl.
“Both of you, stop it!” the man yelled leaping on his feet. He pulled something silver out of his pocket and started waving it in Kendra's face. There was a little, blue light on the end of it and Kendra was beginning to find it annoying. She was considering breaking it, when the man started to mutter.
“Now that's very interesting,” he mumbled. “There's a darkness about you. Human but not quite human. Now what could you possibly be.” Suddenly he exclaimed “Ah ha!” and started jumping up and down on the balls of his feet.
“You're a Vampire Slayer. It's a pleasure to meet you. I've never actually met one of your kind before, but I've heard great stories. I don't really fight demons, leave that up to the humans. Aliens is more my specialty. Seeing as I am an alien. Although I never think killing should be an answer, but humans don't really like that idea.”
Kendra stared at him. “Yer insane,” she said, her accent pouring through the words.
“Yes, I've heard that a lot. Maybe I am. But I like that,” he said grinning. “Anyway, we better be off. Amy wants to see Brazil. Have you ever been to Brazil? It's a rather lovely place. Except I don't really their Carnival thing and that Jesus statue nearly destroyed the universe. I'm off track again, aren't I Amy?”
“Yep,” she nodded, sighing. “You need to work on that. And get rid of that stupid bow tie.”
“Bow ties are cool,” he said the girl and the turned back to Kendra. “Lovely to meet you anyway. I hope the whole Slaying thing goes well for you.” He stuck out his hand, but Kendra stared at it as if it were scum and he dropped it. “Amy, say goodbye.”
“Why should I? She's held a knife at your throat and then punched you in the nose.”
“It's polite,” the man mumbled.
The red head glared at him, but mumbled “Bye.” Kendra gave a brief nod.
“Goodbye then,” the man said and they both walked into the blue box. Just as the door was shutting, the man poked his head out. “By the way, tell your Watcher to check up on Sunnydale, California. There's something big and bad brewing up there.” He waved, the box's door shut, and the peculiar noise again vibrated through the jungle. And then the box vanished into thin air. Kendra shook her head. She had vampires to kill and she needed to pass on the stranger's message to her Watcher. But if she ever saw him again, she would hit him a lot harder. And maybe give the girl a small punch too.
