Jethro liked red heads. He also liked them older and out of college. The young woman on the other side of the campus was neither of those things. Something about her had caught his eye though, and he had no idea what it was.
He narrowed his eyes in thought.
He wasn’t attracted to her. Ducky could tease all he liked, he didn’t like them that young. He didn’t think she was a suspect. There was no evidence she was connected to their missing marine, no reason why there should be anything different about her. Except she’d caught his eye and he was feeling annoyed that they’d come all the way down here because someone had seen their missing guy in the area and she had caught his attention.
And now that red head she was with was looking over at him warily and he knew he was going to have to talk with her.
He fixed a polite smile on his face and wandered over. His pace became more sure of himself as they tried to slip around a corner and away. After all, only the guilty run.
“Hey!”
The red head spun around, her eyes narrowing and she stiffened into a defensive stance. Gibbs ignored her and focused on the blonde who was trying to move back into the shadows.
“Names?”
“Willow Rosenberg and this is...”
Gibbs sent her a hard look and found a tiny amount of annoyance when she met him glare for glare. “I was talking to your friend. I’m sure she can speak for herself. Name Miss?”
“Mc… Mclay, sir. Tara Mclay, I… I’m sorry if I’ve caused any trouble…”
“Have you?”
He narrowed his eyes as she flinched back, fear and… guilt?... in her eyes. She had done something then. Whether it was connected to his missing marine or not was the new question and he would get answers.
“Come with me Miss Mclay.”
