Xander looked down at Calleigh.

He always hated seeing her hooked up to machines.

Xander knew the dangers of her job, but seeing Calleigh like this always bothered him.

"Thanks for calling me, Delko. She..."

"Doesn't want to worry you."

"You guys risk your life every day and she worries about me."

"You're her favorite cousin," Eric said. "Are you staying long?"

"Can't. Willow's picking me up. Thanks again, Eric. Tell her..."

"No problem. And she knows."

Xander bent down and kissed Calleigh on the forehead.

Before he could rationalise an excuse to stay, Xander walked out of the room.
