"Holy shit, who is that
Xander presses pause on the remote and fights the urge to roll his eyes at the young werewolf, Embry Call. He's not exactly sure how it happened, but his house has become the favourite hangout joint for the Quileute wolves. He's become their version of Giles.
Normally Xander doesn't mind, but today he was kind of hoping for a few minutes alone.
"Xander, who is the babe?"
He cringes at the term. "That babe is Buffy, the head Slayer and she can rip your arms off and beat you to death with them, so I wouldn't go around calling her babe if I was you."
"What about the girl behind her... wow
"That's Dawn, Buffy's little sister, and I wouldn't call her babe either. She's a mean hair puller and Buffy will rip your head clean from your shoulders if you her hurt... or maybe even lay a hand on her. She's having issues with Dawn dating."
Embry doesn't seem to hear his words. "What about the redhead? She's cute."
"And also very taken. Her girlfriend is a slayer and slayers are violent. I refer you back to my warning about heads being removed from shoulders."
"Wait! She's a lesbian?" Embry's practically panting.
Xander suddenly feels the urge to utter the words "dear lord" and polish his glasses... Unfortunately he doesn't wear glasses.
"Oh my God! Who... who..."
That's it! Xander's buying himself some glasses! "That is Faith and you can't go near her until you're eighteen and I'm out of the room."
"They're all Slayers?" Embry asks, finally dragging his eyes away from the television screen.
"With the exception of Dawnie and Willow, yes."
"Why did they send you a home video?"
He falters for a second. "They miss me and they wanted to surprise me."
"It's my birthday." Xander ignores Embry after that and hits play.
The sounds of the girls singing happy birthday fill the room.
