A/N 1: I never meant to go past fifty chapters for this and I somehow managed to keep to that self-promise. Its been a wonderful ride and I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I have.

Cardiff, 2045

Stepping out of the time portal, Phoenix barely had a moment to get her bearings before her daddy had her in his arms and was squeezing intently. They were just outside her childhood home, on the outskirts of Cardiff on the same spot where the Manor had once stood.

“Need to breathe!” she rasped out as she heard Papa and Mum laughing.

“Sorry,” Daddy said, loosening his grasp to lean down and kiss her forehead. “You did good.”

“I know,” she chirped and then turned to the others waiting and lurched forward to hug her mother.

“You're daddy has been impossible to live with for the past week,” Mum told her, letting her go after a minute. “Considering we'd already lived through it all you'd think he'd be more calm.”

“That's cause Daddy's a worrywart,” she told her mother from her Papa's embrace. They all ignored the man's indignant yelp and Uncle D and Grandfather John's chuckles. “He worries when I go upstairs to listen to music!”

“I do not!” Daddy exclaimed. Alice came outside, rolling her eyes as she shuffled forward.

“Dad, you've always been like that,” she told him as Phoenix turned to give her big sister a hug. Her nephew, Steven, now in his forties, laughed as he twirled her around with a grin.

The whole debacle with the 456 had not ended in the man's death, as Cassie had seen it and changed the outcome, by getting the Slayers involved. Phoenix still didn't know the full story of how things had gone down, as her daddy tended to keep her in the dark about it, but she knew through her mother that the entire thing was when Papa had died the first time.

“You couldn't have been more tactful when telling me I was pregnant?” Aunt Willow asked, coming outside with her daughter, Tara. Phoenix smiled sheepishly.

“You didn't tell me you didn't know!” she defended herself. “But I was right, wasn't I? You made an excellent mom and aunt.”

“Yeah, yeah, yeah,” Willow laughed, hugging her.

Willow had learned too late that by being the main conduit in which the slayers had been called that her aging had been slowed by about half. Though the woman looked about thirty, she was in reality sixty-five. Therefore, she and her children all looked the same age, while Uncle Oz was clearly in his sixties. She wouldn't live as long as some in their family, but she'd live longer than a normal human of the time.

“You're back!”

Phoenix braced herself as her best friend and sometimes lover sped over and hugged her, picking her up off the ground.

“Yes, yes, I'm back Jenny, you can put me down now,” she said dryly and the blonde did as she was bade, smiling sheepishly.

She and Jenny had been born the same way—the Doctor had found a way around the whole human-gallifreyan aspect of her mum's life by taking her parents to Messaline just a few weeks after he, Aunt Buffy, Uncle Gray, Aunt Martha, and Aunt Donna had left and Jenny had regenerated the first time. After fiddling with the progenation machine for a good two hours, Uncle D had explained that it would take all three of their DNA to create a child now, bypassing Dawn's sterility completely. And instead of being born an adult, like Jenny had, their child would actually be an infant that would grow as a normal human.

After Phoenix had been born, they'd returned to twenty-first century Earth and she'd been raised amidst all her cousins and aunts and uncles, just as she'd explained to her parents. So, as she'd told her Papa, she technically hadn't lied when she said she'd been born in the Byzantine year 60120724; she'd just not mentioned that she hadn't remained in that year and her official birth certificate listed her birthday as January 1st, 2025.

Jenny had remained with Uncle D until they'd visited when Phoenix was sixteen. After the two girls had hit it off, she'd decided to stay. That had been, to Phoenix's personal linear time, only four years previously and they'd been almost inseparable ever since. Jenny had NOT been pleased when Phoenix had had to go back alone.

“You did well,” the Doctor said, coming forward and hugging her. “Just enough information to keep the time-line on track but not enough to really change it—though you really didn't have to tell Alexander that bit about William.”

“Yes I did,” she chirped, eyes twinkling. “Speaking of which...”

She took off the vortex manipulator and handed it to her grandfather. “Thanks for letting me use it.”

“Like I had a choice,” the man grumbled, putting it back on his own wrist. He yelped when the Doctor suddenly grabbed his arm, his sonic screwdriver pointed at the device. “Hey, what are you doing, I need that!”

“No, you really don't,” Uncle D insisted and Phoenix turned back to her Papa as the two began arguing.

“I didn't get you and Daddy in too much trouble with Mum, did I?” she asked, cuddling into his side. He leaned down and kissed her forehead, one of his arms around her shoulder.

“No, princess, you didn't,” he assured her. “I'm proud of you.”

She smiled as she leaned her head against his shoulder, watching as Daddy whirled Mum around the front yard, singing at the top of his lungs and making the woman laugh.

All was right in her world.

End Notes: That's it, the end. Thanks to everyone who've stayed with me on this—its been a wonderful ride and I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I have. End Notes 2: This isn't, necessarily, the last you're gonna see of this universe. I'm gonna eventually add a “deleted scenes” thing of scenes I wrote out and, for one reason or another, either didn't put in or took out of the final posted chapter. These will include the beginning of Martha-Visits-Torchwood-in-an-official-capacity; my versions of The Stolen Earth/Journey's End, The End of Time, and Children of Earth; a conversation Jack has with Spike about John (and Dawn); Dawn and John's reunion in Fragments/Exit Wounds; Rose's ultimate fate; Jenny meeting Jack; various wedding scenes; Doc meeting Buffy; and little scenes from Dawn's time with Doc and Martha back when I was still planning on writing that out. I may put them with other “deleted scenes” from other finished works, including Tales from Atlantis and A City is Not a Home on the lookout. ;)
