Telling the In-Law
Summary: **Part of the ‘Telling a Different Way’ series** Willow’s dad finds out about part of his daughter’s life from Oz.

Warning: I don’t know; maybe language and innuendo somewhere along the way.

Timeline: sometime after graduation, but Oz never left. Willow was adopted by the Rosenburgs.

Challenge: #5745 ‘‘The World is Older Than You Know’...remix’ by GottaLUVmyth.

A/N: Came up with another version of the speech by Oz, so it keeps going.

Thanks to my betas: still unbeta’d.

“Most demons, bad; most Slayers, good. First rule: ‘Don’t die’,” Oz told his father-in-law-to-be.

Horatio Caine sat back on his couch with a light thud. Finding out that he had a daughter was wonderful. Seeing that she was a brilliant and strong young woman made him proud – even though he knew he had nothing to do with her turning out that way. Finding out that her life was more dangerous than his…that’s where his happiness evaporated.

Willow could see the concern in his expressive eyes and took his hand to comfort him. “Buffy is a great Slayer, and we all try to follow the first rule. She’s the only one of us who has ever broken it – and even then, she only bent it.”

A/N: I love Horatio and had to ask why they would ever tell him.
